Jeder Bissen war ein Genuss! Besonders hervorheben möchte ich Anna, die das Herz des Kirchsteiger ist. Ihre herzliche Art und ihr strahlendes Lächeln machen den Besuch zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Sie sorgt dafür, dass man sich sofort willkommen fühlt und hat unseren Abend wirklich bereichert. Ich kann das Restaurant Kirchsteiger nur wärmstens empfehlen und freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch! Vielen Dank für die tolle Erfahrung!

Breakfasts with a modest assortment of cakes and croissants, snacks, aperitifs, small outdoor play area for children. Quick and courteous service, relatively low prices, perhaps to compensate for the decentralized position which however is an advantage, a green oasis with a view of the river, without roads or car traffic. 200m from the shopping streets and close to the Roman bridge. An ideal starting or ending point for walks and excursions along the routes that wind from there. Very popular.

26/03/2025: beautiful place on the promenades of Merano. evocative retro bistro, €6.30 for cappuccino and brioche are definitely too much, but the setting partly justifies them.

10/12/2024: We specifically went to Knödelglück because we read the good reviews in advance. So we took a wonderful walk through Meran and then stopped at Knödelglück. Although we didn't have a reservation, we only had to wait a few minutes and were then given a seat with a fantastic view over Meran. The service was friendly and excellent. Then the food arrived and our high expectations were not disappointed! It was really excellent. Therefore, Knödelglück is an absolute recommendation and we would love to come back! If I had a little room for improvement, it would be great to have a typical children's meal on the menu (pasta or fries), but that's really just a personal wish.

08/11/2024: The food was really excellent! When asked, the boss reported how much love and precision the preparation of the dumplings started the day before. The dessert dumplings were also delicious. The portion will definitely fill you up, so dessert is more for sharing. The service could have been a little faster or more attentive. Great location and beautiful view from the terrace!

The gluten free cuisine was simply fantastic, with dishes prepared with fresh, high quality ingredients, proving that gluten free cuisine can be just as delicious and varied. But what made the experience even more memorable was the courtesy of the owners. They were extremely welcoming and helpful, ready to recommend dishes and satisfy our every need. Their passion for cooking and attention to the customer could be felt at every moment. Furthermore, the prices are absolutely fair for the quality of the food and service offered. It is rare to find a place that combines quality, courtesy and reasonable prices so well. I highly recommend visiting this place, especially if you are looking for great gluten free cuisine!

17/02/2025: I only had breakfast in this small place right behind the Merano spa. A few minutes from the center. The place is very clean, the owners welcome you with a smile and are very kind, here I ate a gluten-free strudel, homemade, amazing, honestly worthy of the envy of those with gluten. The first day it wasn't there, I asked and the next morning he let me find it... fantastic ♥️. I recommend it. And the entire menu can be requested gluten-free!!

08/04/2025: Very nice hotel in Merano. The rooms are comfortable and some are still somewhat old-fashioned. I had a newly furnished single room on the 4th floor and was very satisfied. The city center can be reached in 10 minutes on foot.

25/02/2025: We walked the horseshoe tour and of course stayed overnight at the Fahnerscharte Hut! A dream! Kailash and his team are always extremely helpful and friendly. The food is incredibly tasty and in the evening you can choose from four different starters, four different main courses and two desserts in half board! We had spaghetti with five types of cheese as a starter, paneer as a main course (Indian and the cheese is made in-house), spinach dumplings on cabbage and apple strudel as a dessert. Every single course was a poem! The breakfast is also very rich, with lots of bread, honey, jam and cereals. Kailash and his team take great care of the guests and are always happy to provide information and chat. The self-created Fahnersscharten Spritz was also a hit. Price-performance is excellent!

10/02/2025: Rating has been adjusted because the hut team has apparently changed. Here is the old review: Hut great, location great, room good - Half board rather poor. Tip: to be on the safe side, take snacks from the previous station. A truly idyllic hut that also has renovated rooms. But it's best to eat something there before dinner - to really fill you up after a long tour. Other hikers pointed us out at other huts because we were walking the horseshoe clockwise. I have never eaten so sparingly in a hut, no matter how remote. Our half board for 60€: A sour soup with peas, lentils and lots of pods on the bottom - fits. Main course a single sausage with some sauerkraut or alternatively even three slices of cheese with coleslaw (other combination impossible). Dessert: a small bowl of applesauce. Main problem: Every morning, two slices of very thin bread with jam or Nutella. And some cereal. And even if the landlady is friendly, you will be looked at very disapprovingly if you even ask for a second coffee or more bread.

31/01/2025: Locale semplice già alle 1700 si può benissimo mangiare la pizza o piatti tipici . Personale simpatico soprattutto i propietari,quando vado a Merano per noi e diventata una tappa obbligatoria...prezzi giusti a parte l'acqua quasi 5 euro una bottiglia mi sembra molto esagerato ma nel contesto va bene così

While others criticize the style and the building, we come here precisely because we don't need many frills, we prefer to eat well and be treated well. 23/03/2025: Were there. The food wasn't good. My pasta sank into the tomato sauce. Unfortunately, the pizza was more of a starter than a main course, so the pizza alone didn't fill you up. The salad was crisp and fresh, but the additional ingredients made a lot of savings and the price ratio was difficult! (mine was with zucchini, aubergine and mushrooms: zucchini not cooked through, aubergine hardly visible, the mushrooms were fine) Overall, unfortunately not a recommendation!
