25/02/2026: I don't like writing reviews, but this time I really feel the need. I hope I can be polite and objective enough so that anyone reading can form their own opinion. This morning we stopped by the Steinerhof to book a table for two for dinner. A very kind young woman greeted us and took our reservation. We returned for dinner and were greeted instead by a gentleman, perhaps a waiter, perhaps the owner, who claimed not to speak Italian. In English, I informed him of our reservation and he showed us to a side room. We ordered two bottles of water and a small beer in English. He brought us the water in two glasses. We asked for the bottle of sparkling water, which cost us a hefty €5.20. He also charged us for the glasses of water. We waited a good ten minutes before he brought us the menu, then the waiter disappeared. He reappeared to escort a group of locals who were leaving their table and ignored us. After a quarter of an hour, my husband decides to go to the main dining room, calling the Italian-speaking waiter's attention. He decides to come and take our order, which we still have to communicate in English or German. We order boiled potatoes (lightly cooked) with cheese and three dumplings with cabbage salad. We wait again for about a quarter of an hour, with the dining room completely empty. The picture of the dumplings I've attached to this review probably gives a good idea: completely dry and hard. The experience ends shortly afterward because we decide to go to the cashier to pay the bill ourselves. We had to explicitly ask for the receipt in Italian. This time, it seems the man understood. We won't be returning. Hostile.

27/02/2026: We spent one night at this property. Simple and honest hotel. Clean room. The manager is a great person, helpful and kind to the customers.

28/05/2026: Our first evening in Dorf Tirol was a disappointment. Schnitzel with fries and a side salad. Everything was tasteless, including the salad dressing, which was served afterward. With a few drinks, it came to €96. Just typical tourist fare... last year was better.

24/05/2026: We were here in the afternoon, unfortunately the full menu was no longer available. Only cold appetizers were left!

14/04/2026: Had pizza with family. Excellent pizza, with variations suggested by the owner, truly delicious. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

19/02/2026: Excellent location for those who want to ski or hike. The pool and spa facilities are a bit small given the campsite's capacity. The restaurant and pizzeria are excellent.

10/06/2026: The staff and owner are extremely friendly and professional. Delicious pizza and exceptional prices compared to other places in the area!

10/05/2026: Great place for those who want to eat something on the go and spend little.

03/06/2026: Terrible, from the welcome, to the table setting, the atmosphere, the service, and the food. Nothing special, the pasta seemed pre-cooked and microwaved, but the bill was truly steep for what we received! Highly discouraged.

03/06/2026: Homemade, quality products, friendly and helpful staff. I was in the area without a reservation, but they didn't hesitate to find a table for me. Prices are average and reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients. Recommended

29/05/2026: The owner was very kind and allowed us to move our reservation to the end of the season because I was sick. The hotel is very beautiful and the food is excellent.

29/03/2026: Sunday lunch. We asked if we could have a goulash dish with 1 dumpling, and they happily obliged. Excellent service. Quick and polite. The place is located right between the slopes, very welcoming. Prices are reasonable.

05/06/2026: The food was great, from Schlutzkrapfen (filled pasta) to schnitzel. A few cranberries on the schnitzel would have made it perfect.

01/06/2026: We ate very well, but I think the staff was unfriendly and the wait was endless!

12/08/2025: Just like when the two brothers ran the small stube in Fai della Paganella, nothing has changed; if anything, the location in this beautiful church square has improved. Fair prices, good food, and, above all, great service from the two owners.

04/05/2026: Excellent cuisine, from pizzas to various dishes. The fish is also good. Very reasonable prices for Bolzano.

13/12/2025: Overall, we were very satisfied. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and the food was top-notch. However, what really bothered us was that our towels smelled absolutely musty. We'd been misled by them, and they were immediately musty. It was truly awful. I'm not usually sensitive to smells, but that was completely unacceptable. It wouldn't have been worth mentioning if the smell had been gone after we exchanged the towels.

12/11/2025: The Tenne Lodge has a great location right next to the gondola, making it ideal for skiers. From the outside, the hotel is very attractive and blends well into the natural surroundings. The rooms are very spacious and furnished in an alpine style. The cleanliness throughout the hotel is excellent. However, many minor issues unfortunately contribute to a negative impression of the hotel, especially considering it's a 5-star establishment. The welcome was not only very cold but rather dismissive, and we didn't feel particularly welcome. We were aware of the 2:00 PM check-in time, but being greeted with the phrase "Check-in is from 2:00 PM" is completely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. There was no inquiry about our well-being, our arrival, or anything similar, and when we had questions about a day's activities, we were referred to an app. Despite the hotel being quite empty, we weren't allowed into our room until 2:00 PM. (We arrived at 12:50 PM.) This is rather petty and reinforced our initial negative impression. We were not escorted to our room or given a brief introduction to the hotel. We received a slip of paper with information, but the reality was quite different. According to the posted notice, the whirlpool was supposed to be open until 7:00 PM, but it had already been drained by 6:00 PM. The entire hotel's design felt somewhat dated. Textured wallpaper, very cheap outdoor chairs, and truly awful loungers on the balconies are not what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. The pool area is very spacious, but the loungers are crammed together, giving it the feel of a neglected spa. From the pool, you can practically see the hairdresser at work. Nobody needs that. The sauna area is very spacious, but again, nothing special compared to other hotels. The transition between the sauna and pool areas is somewhat makeshift and requires a key. Incidentally, they still use "real" keys here, not keycards. Generally, many things seem poorly thought out and rather impersonal. For example, in a hotel of this price range, I don't expect teapot tea or teacups with the Teekanne logo on them. The gym is small but quite well-equipped, but the exercise mats were so worn and filthy that I decided against working out. Breakfast was good, and the à la carte dishes were of excellent quality. The 13-course dinner was outstanding. Incredibly high quality, beautifully presented, and perfectly seasoned. However, the table manners could be improved, as could the service. Placemats at breakfast? Awful! The staff needs more intensive training. They rarely asked how the food was, and used plates were often simply left untouched. Laurin, on the other hand, is an incredibly attentive and wonderful employee. It's unbelievable that a hotel in 2025 still doesn't have high-speed internet. At times, we couldn't even use Google or Instagram, let alone Zoom (we had to work). I also find the "open" duvet cover problematic. It's convenient for the staff, but simply unhygienic for the guests. There are some fantastic hotels in South Tyrol (Schgaguler, Milla Montis), but the Tenne Lodge is unfortunately not one of them.

16/05/2026: Traditional German fare – delicious dumplings! 🤤 Excellent value for money. Perfect for a big appetite. Delicious salad buffet. Plenty of parking.
