13/04/2026: We entrusted Carlo with the most important day of our lives, and we couldn't have made a better choice. From the very beginning, he proved to be reliable, attentive, and meticulous in organizing our wedding. He cares deeply about his venue, and rightly so. L'Astragalo is a magnificent place! Very well-kept, clean, and charming! Furthermore, his restaurant is one of the best in the area. We'd been there for dinner and had already tried his cuisine... and for our wedding, the food was excellent! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the aperitif on the upper terrace overlooking the sea. A generous and varied appetizer buffet was served on the terraces below, with the sunset as our backdrop. And dinner was served in the dining room, where we found the table settings meticulously and elegantly, choosing, under his guidance, the silver-rimmed glasses and stemware, one of the theme colors of our wedding. Last but not least, the wedding cake was served on the main terrace, with candles and lights adorning the table. Plus, the venue was exclusively for our use, the best choice... our wedding was a real celebration!!! I really want to thank Carlo, the head waiter, and all the waiters, who were always smiling, discreet, and polite. Thanks to you, our guests were thrilled, and we're incredibly happy because everything couldn't have been better. Thank you, Astragalo!

04/05/2026: We visited Spiaggia di Baratti at the beginning of May and there were almost no people. We highly recommend visiting – it’s very peaceful, the water is crystal clear, and there are beautiful blooming succulents around.

16/05/2026: A fantastic place! Anna gave us a super welcome even though there were six of us; a lovely atmosphere and FANTASTIC homemade food for the price of an appetizer in France…. If you're in Livorno, go there, but be aware it's not very big.

15/05/2026: Fantastic place and great food. We had parmigiana, gnocchi with orata, fish and octopus for the main corse was great. Few more analcoholic drinks except coke and fanta would be nice. 😀 ok water 😉 Cool bar and butcher shop is part of this concept.

22/10/2025: One afternoon, while leaving Marina di Campo airport for Sant'Ilario, I stumbled upon this lovely place—actually, two places to eat, and one to drink. We stopped to try their pinsa. I ordered five strips, two with potatoes and the others with vegetables. As I tasted them, I noticed that the pasta was good and the ingredients were excellent, so everything was fine, except for the portions, which are a bit small for the price—€27 for five strips—and lack a good quality-price ratio. I'm not the only one to notice this; if a pan that would normally yield eight strips were to yield seven, each strip would be a centimeter wider, which at a glance helps to better understand the quantity. In any case, you can sense their commitment to using quality ingredients and their commitment to their customers.

03/05/2026: A restaurant serving traditional Livorno cuisine, such as cacciucco (excellent with garlic bread...and lots of delicious fish, even with the bones, which add flavor)...delicate Livorno-style cod...and a Livorno-style punch made to perfection!!!! Friendly and helpful staff...attentive service that pampers the customer (the disposable bib is wonderful, so you can eat the CACCIUCCO in peace). The restaurant is well-kept, welcoming, and immersed in the typical atmosphere of Castagneto Carducci, with that perfect blend of Tuscan tradition and attention to detail. The service is impeccable: Luca is kind, smiling, and always ready to recommend the right dish without ever being intrusive. The cuisine is the restaurant's true strength: excellent ingredients, carefully prepared dishes, and authentic flavors that reflect the local area. From fresh pasta to meat dishes, to homemade desserts, every course confirms the restaurant's quality. The wine selection is also excellent, with local labels that further enhance the gastronomic experience. In short: a restaurant where you eat very well, feel pampered, and always want to return. Highly recommended.
