21/09/2025: We walked in, but nobody greeted us. We had to sit down by ourselves while the staff stayed busy chatting with each other and completely ignored us. After about 10 minutes, someone finally came over and brought us two menus. One of them had sticky pages and smelled strongly of beer, while the other was simply very dirty. The menus were thrown onto the table without eye contact, and when I said “thank you,” the waiter was already walking away with his back to us. Such a rude and unprofessional attitude is unacceptable, especially in a tourist city. I truly hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their service, so that other customers will not be treated the same way. After this unpleasant experience, we decided to leave.

31/08/2025: Everything was excellent and tasty, the staff were very kind and helpful. The cannoli are excellent, I prefer the ones with white cream. The sultanas are spectacular: almond paste, raisins, and rum...a must try! You can also order by phone...except on Sundays due to the high traffic. Good things sell out quickly! In any case, whatever you buy and enjoy...it's a delirium of flavors and aromas. Keep your diet off and dive into the pastries...for those who can't swim in taste...sorry! 100% RECOMMENDED

28/08/2025: Excellent pastry shop; cleanliness and order are impressive, and you'll discover the excellent quality. Try the almond pastries with raisins and rum. The staff is incredibly friendly.

09/10/2025: I went to Dollaro full of hope and... I left with a master's degree in "Waiting and Patience": 50 minutes for a piadina! Meanwhile, I watched the staff casually move from phone to money to food—all with their bare hands, as if HACCP were a musical group. The "Roberto" piadina was also good, but I only discovered when I got the bill that the yogurt sauce cost €1 more, even though that wasn't stated anywhere. Bottom line: the piadina was good, the transparency was terrible. I expected more value from Dollaro, not a surprise surcharge. 💸

Forty years ago, it was the first sandwich shop to open in this area, introducing a more open gastronomic culture, one that embraced the new trends that defined the generations of that era—styles and customs that have indelibly marked the worlds of music, film, and fashion, leaving no room for restaurant dining. In our view, this historic business is one that deserves much more consideration, often even more so than its more recent counterparts. The reasons are simple: we primarily focus on the expertise, availability, and skills of our staff, elements that are the foundation of any business where customer relations are essential. The selection of top-quality products, which must never be lacking, is evident in all the dishes served, from starters like chips to pinsa (a type of pasta), and other dishes. The clean, bright, and distinctive setting creates a pleasant atmosphere and is ideal for a quiet, intimate dinner, but also perfect for small groups, with the small outdoor deck and the indoor dining room that also features a mezzanine with additional seating. We highly recommend this restaurant because there's nothing spectacular about it, and our vision always reflects simplicity, as our readers will have noticed. Although it's a simple sandwich shop, it has the experience to manage the dining room, kitchen, payments, reservations, delivery service, and all the other services of the establishment, which are always under control. This can only lead to positive results, especially considering the politeness and courtesy evident in discussions between staff and customers, which already contributed to much of our absolutely positive rating and represent a recommendation for a normal, yet perfect, experience in our beloved Acireale. 18/07/2025: A nice bar, located near Porto Empedocle, is on the left of the road leading to the upper traffic light. Convenient for breakfast, a coffee with friends, a selection of pastries, and a favorite spot for those with a meeting before heading to work. Recommended.

06/09/2025: Excellent value, punctual and very friendly. The pizza is delicious, with fresh toppings and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended!

04/10/2025: My husband and I stumbled upon it by chance, and I can't say enough good things about it. The selection of hot food is incredibly delicious and inviting. Even though the place (takeout only) is small, the fast and professional staff manages to keep everything under control with kindness and professionalism. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

13/09/2025: A culinary stroke of luck in the alleys of Licata By a stroke of luck, our search for a good restaurant in the winding alleys of Licata led us to Pepe and Chiara's. We almost didn't get in, as there was a slight misunderstanding with the charming chef, Pepe, at the door – fortunately, everything was quickly and cordially resolved. The restaurant is small and cozy, with a maximum of 20 seats and a lovingly decorated atmosphere that perfectly matches Pepe's creative cuisine. Chiara welcomes guests with a warm, pleasant manner, which further enriches the visit. You can choose between a 4- or 6-course menu – we opted for the 4-course menu, accompanied by an excellent red Syrah. The wine selection is excellent and pairs wonderfully with the dishes. The prices may be high, but the quality and professionalism are well worth it. In the end, we were completely satisfied.

13/09/2025: I was drawn in by the reviews, but... No kidding! The place is very old, very dirty, perhaps not renovated in 40 years, with terrible decor. The bathroom is shameful, all broken and dirty. I can't even imagine the food. The prices are low, but the food isn't up to par. The only decent thing is the pizza. We ordered a kind of tagliata served 1980s-style with a balsamic vinegar glaze in a zigzag pattern. It was old, tasteless, and stringy, and cost 14 euros! The mixed grill was decent, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! I'm sorry, places like this should just close down in 2025.

04/05/2025: Recommended for those who like a quick and good quality meal. My favorites are the macaroni rolls and the chicken with baked potatoes as well as the tasty organic wine. You can order to take home or eat in the restaurant although the seats are limited. Restaurant run by a spouse with great experience in the kitchen
