13/10/2025: Extremely disappointing experience at Palinuro Restaurant (Catania) I booked through The Fork (with regular confirmation and a 50% discount) and, with my partner, arrived at Palinuro Restaurant after a 15 km drive, in the midst of a sudden downpour. Unfortunately, the experience was one of the most unpleasant I've ever had at a restaurant, and indeed, definitely THE ONLY one! Upon my arrival, a young employee (at first glance, he seemed foreign, and I say this without any prejudice, but only because this may have coincidentally led to the subsequent misunderstanding)—who immediately proved unhelpful and rather hasty—assigned me a table for two with a seat facing a white wall. Given that it was 7:00 PM and the restaurant was completely empty, I asked to change my seating, even just by rotating the table or choosing another free one, but my every request was denied without any attempt at understanding or mediation. The employee's tone was distant and unfriendly, as if my presence were indifferent (I believe it was because of the 50% discount reservation), and he even told me that if I didn't agree with the rules, I could leave—all without ever looking me in the eye. I pointed out that a customer should be treated like an oracle, and he, with an angry look and attitude, replied: "ORACLE? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?" (That's why, above, I emphasized that he SOUNDED like a foreigner) and, believing he hadn't understood the meaning, I replied: "IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS, I'LL EXPLAIN IT TO YOU!" And he, as if I had wanted to offend him, retorted: I WAS BORN AND LIVED IN ITALY AND I KNOW ITALIAN (perhaps, since he's black, he MISTAKENLY understood that I was prejudiced against him for reasons of RACISM, something I have NEVER done in my life, having ALWAYS BEEN AGAINST any form of discrimination! Faced with this attitude, I finally lost my patience and asked to speak to the owner, but I discovered that the employee was already on the phone with him, giving his version of events in real time. I then decided to leave and went out. A few minutes later, I received a call from the owner, who deemed it appropriate to fully agree with his employee, without even listening to my reconstruction, repeating several times that no one had ever complained in 8 years, and I replied that I didn't What mattered was the experience of others, but of THAT moment. Realizing there was NO chance of a conversation, I decided to end that impossible conversation and hung up the phone. In the rain and without dinner, we returned home after a wasted journey (30 km round trip) and a completely ruined evening. The owner's subsequent attempt to call me back, despite my clear displeasure in continuing the matter, further confirmed the total lack of tact and professionalism. In summary: • No welcome, no empathy, and no ability to manage the customer. • Zero attention to the expressed discomfort, not even after explaining the situation. • Disrespectful attitude both on the part of the employee (perhaps too young to manage customers, not just those of his peers) and, even more so, on the part of the management, which is expected to treat the customer with professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness. A real shame, given that the restaurant we chose was recommended by The Fork so we could try new restaurants with confidence and be CERTAIN of their reliability. An experience NOT to be repeated, and obviously As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't recommend it. 16/09/2025: Not sure what happened with this restaurant but got served paccheri with the worst sarde i ever seen. Looked like sauce been mixed in a mixer and some sad two fish bites thrown with Ordered Chardonnay but got Grillo. Perhaps they mistaken us for tourists. Never going back.

08/11/2025: The selection is extensive, the quality is top-notch, and the products are always fresh. Although it's often crowded (which speaks volumes about the quality of the offerings), the service is very fast and courteous. The food is truly excellent.

18/10/2025: If you want to get the best local seafood, this place is a must visit. Wide variety of fresh fish cooked in truly Sicilian style . Matteo was very friendly and a great host. Just beware there is a little “fishy” smell as they also sell fresh raw fish. But the food is worth it.

17/10/2025: Be careful when approaching the counter where the pizza maker hands over the pizzas for delivery, the owner might dazzle you or even BITE! Also be careful trying to help the waiters (not all of them, but some are confused, especially if there is a bit of confusion, in that case the owner might dazzle or bite you too). The pizza, when the other pizzeria Tusa is closed, is not bad. The service, as long as it's left in the hands of the waiter with glasses (I think his name is Andrea) or the girls, is fine, but on the weekend it's a bit more complicated to receive the correct pizza for takeaway, it happens that in the confusion they give you a wrong pizza.

04/06/2025: Unfortunately, the schedule isn't up to date, even though we had booked on their website a few days earlier. Disappointed.

21/07/2025: The highest quality products! For breakfast, I enjoyed a cream brioche and almond paste cookies. Both were truly delicious and fresh. In the afternoon, we sampled a cannoli filled to order with the freshest ricotta and a flawless wafer. The prices are very affordable!

05/10/2025: A wonderful experience, we chose the Mare&Aria tasting menu. The exquisite dishes, the impeccable welcome and service made it a Saturday lunch to remember. We also recommend it for the splendid sea view.
