As a Level 8 Local Guide, I always strive for the right balance between expectation and reality, and tonight 'Il Re della Pizza' in Gallipoli nailed it. I'd seen Cristian's viral videos, and while he's hilarious and captivating on social media, it's in front of the oven that he shows his true worth. The pizza is exactly as he describes it: light, easy to digest, and made with top-quality ingredients. It's not just marketing, it's true passion. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service makes you feel at home. If you're in Gallipoli, this is a must-see. Highly recommended!

12/03/2026: I'm a regular customer of this pizzeria/restaurant and am leaving this review because, for the first time, I hosted a surprise birthday party for 62 people there. I received excellent service, from the reservation to the organization, but also, and above all, throughout the evening: good food, excellent table service despite the restaurant being full. The kindness of the owner and the staff, always available to accommodate our various requests, is priceless. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a pleasant evening.

26/09/2025: We chose Tallarini for our wedding in San Giovanni delle Formiche, and we weren't wrong. Everything went according to plan, with impeccable service and excellent food. All our guests were truly satisfied. A heartfelt thank you to Antonio, who looked after us with professionalism and patience without ever being intrusive. He was an exceptional host! <3

13/09/2025: Wedding September 11, 2025 We chose San Giovanni delle Formiche for our wedding, and everything was perfect! From the magical location, to the super friendly staff, always ready to accommodate any request, and not to mention the sublime food. It was a wonderful day to remember, and I have to thank Tallarini and the entire staff with all my heart!

06/09/2025: Fabulous place. First of all, it has very convenient parking, which is always a plus 😜 for those coming from Gallipoli or by car. But it's also very convenient to walk here if you're on vacation like my wife and I and happen to be sleeping nearby. Comfortable seating, beautiful lighting. Varied menu. The sales assistants are very friendly and professional. Everything is delicious 😋🤩

29/12/2025: It was great! We went to Parco d'Invernale. A magnificent Christmas park/market/funfair where children have fun and parents are amazed!

29/12/2025: The park is decorated in a Christmas theme. Very beautiful, full of decorations and various facilities. Well organized and able to accommodate a large number of people. Tickets are reasonably priced if purchased online in advance. There's little wait at the entrance. The only small drawback: parking, which, however, isn't a "mission impossible."

12/10/2025: A regular stop on my bike rides. The staff is always friendly and cheerful; the coffee and pastries are excellent. The view from the dining room is always pleasant. I recommend Bar Centrale in Tavoleto.

06/04/2026: I've reserved another Easter Monday before writing a review, and I have to say that nothing has changed since last year. The staff is quite rude. The guy who takes reservations, I think, should calm down. I think he should remember that he's dealing with customers, and kindness pays off in every way! The wait was interminable. The waitress told us 5 minutes and then she arrived, I think. We waited 45 minutes in line! Perhaps it could be a great place if they could review the staff and wait times.

The first courses were tasty and plentiful, the roasted cuttlefish with vegetables was a real treat for those who want to limit their fat intake, the seared tuna was excellent and beautifully presented, and all with a wide selection of wines. Top 👍🏻 Prices in line with the quality of the products.

26/01/2026: Nice but basic place. The place has a sea view, but the outdoor building, where some tables are located, isn't a restaurant. The food is just about adequate. The appetizers are a bit too modernized with yogurt sauce and mayonnaise (and we don't know the customers' personal tastes), various jams, etc., which alter the true flavor of the fish. The positive aspect is the fish, which is good! The first course left a little to be desired: not enough salt, and the pasta was undercooked. The portion of fries was small and lacking in salt. The classic pittule were undercooked. The dessert, however, was good. Overall, it's adequate, but the prices should be in line with what you get. In any case, beautiful view and friendly staff. The dishes need revisiting.

18/01/2026: Nice atmosphere, but only for the decor. We stumbled upon it on a Saturday night, but it was disappointing. The staff was unwelcoming. There's no draft beer, only bottled, and no desserts. I wouldn't go back.

18/01/2026: Saturday evening, 12:00 AM, Gallipoli... Infinite sadness: We enter the restaurant and are greeted by a sign prohibiting entry because the floor is wet. We take a seat at an available table, but it's full of glasses and consumed drinks. We ask to clear the table. We order and discover that there are no desserts available, so we order something to eat for the occasion, and we order two beers and a liqueur, to the disappointment of those who don't order anything... What can I say! A little attention and a pinch of goodwill in the service and a positive initiative would make this place more appealing and, why not, a bar worth frequenting!
