06/09/2025: Fabulous place. First of all, it has very convenient parking, which is always a plus 😜 for those coming from Gallipoli or by car. But it's also very convenient to walk here if you're on vacation like my wife and I and happen to be sleeping nearby. Comfortable seating, beautiful lighting. Varied menu. The sales assistants are very friendly and professional. Everything is delicious 😋🤩

19/10/2025: A wonderful location surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a rustic establishment offering simple yet refined dishes. The quality of the food is excellent, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. The antipasto was rich and delicious, and the first courses were excellent. We opted for the meat course, which was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were very satisfied.

13/09/2025: We were thrilled with the cuisine, service, and location at Calamate. We stayed in Gallipoli for 12 days, and we ate there four times. It was undoubtedly the best dinners of the entire trip. The appetizer selection—the burratina, the homemade orecchiette, and the bombette (which we tried breaded and baked here)—were all exceptional, as were the grilled red tuna and the pasta with scampi. The ingredients are excellent, and the price, in my opinion, perfectly in line with what's on offer. If you're in Gallipoli, it's worth a visit!

02/05/2026: Superb coffee and croissants...if you stop by during lunchtime, you can choose between their homemade dishes or excellent sandwiches, always made to order. In the evening, they serve excellent aperitifs with platters and canapés galore. The atmosphere is friendly, and the owners are always available.

02/05/2026: We stumbled upon this little bar for lunch by chance, and it was a delightful surprise! A very good menu, generous portions, carefully prepared, and a truly fair price... Federica, who prepared our lunch, was excellent and very kind! 💖

18/01/2026: Nice atmosphere, but only for the decor. We stumbled upon it on a Saturday night, but it was disappointing. The staff was unwelcoming. There's no draft beer, only bottled, and no desserts. I wouldn't go back.

18/01/2026: Saturday evening, 12:00 AM, Gallipoli... Infinite sadness: We enter the restaurant and are greeted by a sign prohibiting entry because the floor is wet. We take a seat at an available table, but it's full of glasses and consumed drinks. We ask to clear the table. We order and discover that there are no desserts available, so we order something to eat for the occasion, and we order two beers and a liqueur, to the disappointment of those who don't order anything... What can I say! A little attention and a pinch of goodwill in the service and a positive initiative would make this place more appealing and, why not, a bar worth frequenting!

04/05/2026: I love this bar 💚, beautiful location by the Canal Bianco, very friendly, good service, and the Italian atmosphere comes free of charge.

08/06/2026: Very well-equipped bathroom with a good on-site restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Prices are a bit high, but fair for the amenities and quality services available. I don't understand the need to charge 20 cents for the dishwasher and one euro for the shower. I suggest reviewing this policy, which is annoying to customers.

02/05/2026: Weekend of May 1st, group lunch, very large, restaurant full. Very good service, despite the large number of seats we were served very well. Kind owners and welcoming staff. The restaurant overlooks the Le Castella marina, beautiful seafront panorama. We didn't eat à la carte because the menu was agreed upon as we were a group, what we ate, appetizer and first course with fresh seafood, was well prepared, good wines. We will return to try more from the menu. Recommended.

10/05/2026: The restaurant enjoys good attendance, a sign that it knows how to attract customers, but our experience left us with some concerns about several aspects. Regarding the food, the prices are affordable, but we expected better quality: the fish didn't seem particularly fresh and wasn't listed as frozen on the menu, the pasta was a bit overcooked, and the fried shrimp could have been cleaned more thoroughly. The service also had some challenges: the staff's attire was rather informal, the wait times were longer than expected, and we noticed that some tables arriving after us were served early. The waiters also seemed unsure about their dish assignments, which contributed to some confusion. At the time of payment, we would have appreciated a brief feedback on the experience, a simple gesture that always makes a difference and underscores the young woman's awareness of failure on multiple fronts. At this point, I wonder: are there still places that prefer quick and easy profits to things done well? For what purpose?

27/04/2026: I had lunch at this beautiful restaurant with a sea view. The staff was very friendly. The menu was excellent, from appetizer to dessert. The season has just begun, and we'll be happy to return.

26/07/2026: 👎🏻It's a very expensive experience, but it lacks adequate services. Parking is far away and expensive, and after parking, you have to take a shuttle to the beach. The beach is huge and very long, but there's only one bathroom for the entire area, too far for at least 80% of the people. There are no showers, except for one at the main entrance, which also requires a fee. 👎🏻 Furthermore, the price of an umbrella increases based on the distance from the entrance, but in my opinion, it's absolutely not worth it. 👎🏻 Compared to other facilities, this place offers nothing special. I personally strongly advise against it. 👎🏻

25/07/2026: Public land, you have to pay to get there. I mean, it's a dirt field used as a parking lot, filth everywhere, I pay €8 for parking, not even a fountain to rinse off the sand. Bar, no comment, rip-off prices, a beer that at the supermarket costs €1.10, here €6?? A spritz is €9?? This doesn't mean whoever manages it can't raise the prices, but this is authorized theft!! People staring at you, rude people and tourists, who knows you?? You think you're so smart... you're pathetic!!! Go to the public beach, bring everything from home, at least you don't have to see certain people. For goodness sake, we're losing our manners and respect... it's a total disgrace.

17/09/2025: A very elegant, welcoming, and refined restaurant with the renowned chef Peppe Macchia in the kitchen. Here you can find delicious and original dishes, seafood, and excellent wines and champagnes for an unforgettable and unique dinner. The cuisine is both seafood and meat. Recommended!

04/05/2026: The exterior is truly beautiful and very well kept... The rooms are very nice and the lady at the reception is certainly kind and professional... Cons: other staff are decidedly less professional and kind, nice room although the bedspread and blankets were put in the closet at least 6 months ago and are full of dust... There is a 10 cm hole in the wall (see photo) and no mosquito nets (so second sleepless night). As for breakfast, it is located in a nearby building so not exactly convenient, but the worst thing was the products... To treat well, the products were at least packaged and I don't think even branded... Nothing local (and we are in Salento... I don't think there is a lack of good things). The location is not the best... you need a car or shuttle to get anywhere because you are in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn't go back.
