11/03/2026: I'd say their strength lies in their location and the lack of major competitors nearby, which is why we've been there more than a few times, especially for breakfast, despite the usual "issues," but today we promised ourselves it would be our last. The service is slow and inattentive, but it costs 15% of the total, and even the croissants aren't particularly delicious. In short, not an excellent quality/price ratio.

01/03/2026: Two coffees and two croissants cost €9. The croissants were supposed to be filled, but instead there was only a hint of cream filling, and the coffee was burnt. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for breakfast.

30/09/2025: I ate there with my family a week ago, everything was impeccable, I will definitely be back, the fishmonger is always well stocked and the raw seafood is excellent, the staff is very kind.

04/09/2025: Mediocre quality (mostly we were served reheated food, not cooked—it arrived promptly), below-average portions, and restaurant-like prices (even though it's just a chip shop). The prices are ridiculous for what you get. There are definitely better places nearby where you can eat well and get your money's worth.

19/10/2025: A wonderful location surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a rustic establishment offering simple yet refined dishes. The quality of the food is excellent, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. The antipasto was rich and delicious, and the first courses were excellent. We opted for the meat course, which was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were very satisfied.

13/09/2025: We were thrilled with the cuisine, service, and location at Calamate. We stayed in Gallipoli for 12 days, and we ate there four times. It was undoubtedly the best dinners of the entire trip. The appetizer selection—the burratina, the homemade orecchiette, and the bombette (which we tried breaded and baked here)—were all exceptional, as were the grilled red tuna and the pasta with scampi. The ingredients are excellent, and the price, in my opinion, perfectly in line with what's on offer. If you're in Gallipoli, it's worth a visit!

12/10/2025: Super friendly staff, our dog got treats. Very good spritz. We are not used to such a selection at a gas station. Here they have everything sandwiches, cookies and cakes and more.

22/09/2025: Fantastic place! I highly recommend it. Beautiful beach, clear water, and a bar run by a lovely Italian family. They really encouraged us to speak Italian (we're still learning), made delicious drinks, and were very helpful. Subtle music played through the speakers... reasonable prices, delicious menu.

28/07/2025: Esperienza culinaria indimenticabile! Sono stata in questo ristorante per la prima volta e ne sono rimasta entusiasta. L’atmosfera è accogliente, curata nei minimi dettagli, perfetta sia per una cena romantica che per una serata tra amici. Il servizio è stato impeccabile: personale gentile, attento ma mai invadente. Il cibo? Semplicemente eccellente. Ingredienti freschissimi, presentazione raffinata e sapori bilanciati. Ogni portata è stata una scoperta, davvero straordinario! Rapporto qualità-prezzo giustissimo per il livello offerto. Tornerò sicuramente. Consigliatissimo!

24/07/2025: Purtroppo un' esperienza non positiva! ho provato a cenare e dopo essermi accomodato al tavolo prenotato ho dovuto chiamare il giovane cameriere per aprire la mia ordinazione chiedendo consiglio sul pescato del giorno e chiedendo di orientare la cena sul cotto e non sul crudo, mi viene consigliato UNA bruschetta di stracciatella e gamberetti come antipasto e DUE paccheri con rana pescatrice come primo ed il secondo da valutare con calma, in più un semplice rosato da quasi una quindicina di euro. Ok! Nell' attesa il tavolo di fianco fuma sigarette come se non ci fosse un domani (la buona educazione dei cari camerieri accaniti per i loro validi motivi a questo tavolo avrebbero tra " dovuto placare questo continuo fumare) Arriva la bruschetta solo stracciatella i gamberetti quasi a dire inesistenti Ok pazienza! Arrivano i primi credetemi a me piace la cucina "cucinare" ed ho vissuto molti anni della mia vita nella ristorazione. Però purtroppo trattasi di paccheri al pomodoro con una pescatrice scotta, quasi pappina che ho lasciato nel piatto senza finire di mangiare. Al chè mi alzo chiamo il giovane e gentile cameriere e chiedo di andare via perché stava andando tutto male "in modo molto silenzioso ed educato" dichiarando che non ero assolutamente soddisfatto del mangiare e dei fastidiosi "turchi" fumatori del tavolo accanto stop. Giustamente si intromette nel discorso una persona forse il proprietario da dietro il banco del pesce (ci mancherebbe...) gli spiego il tutto anche a lui sempre in educazione e sottovoce nella sala. Mi viene data risposta che il pesce è fresco e non è colpa loro che i clienti fumano. Ci credo! non lo metto in dubbio! però la qualità come dice Lei, va saputa preparare, per l amore di Dio può capitare un piccolo intoppo, ma io da buon ristoratore e buon salentino avrei rimediato in maniera elegante e superiore. Al semplice e quasi volgare alzare i toni nel locale e sbattermi il pos in faccia Di 100 EURO PER UNA BRUSCHETTA DUE PRIMI ED UNA BOTTIGLIA DI 14 ERUO UNA RECENZIONE PERSONALE POI MAGARI CI STA IL PASSANTE TURISTA DI TURNO CHE AFFAMATO MANGIA E TACE. Ragazzi si può dire quello che si vuole mille ragioni e mille torti! Mi dispiace ma non è così che si tratta un cliente che ha una lamentela o un problema. Poi se si lavora sul passante la qualità non ha valore. PURTROPPO NON LO CONSIGLIO 'DICIAMO' che nella confusione non ho avuto lo scontrino ma solo la ricevuta pos che allego POSSO AVERE LO SCONTRINO PER CAPIRE I DETTAGLI SONO CURIOSO GRAZIE. Non dovrebbe essere un problema averlo, dato che ho "cenato" stasera Ps: Ho dovuto terminare la mia cena in un altro locale.
