25/02/2026: Il Messinese was one of the best pizzerias in Syracuse for many years. After a two-month closure for renovations, the restaurant reopened, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. A change is evident (probably management-related): the pizzas are very thin and burned, to the point of being inedible. I personally ordered a gluten-free pizza, and when I commented on the burning, the manager simply said it was "normal." I'll conclude by adding that they didn't even apologize, simply justifying themselves by saying they hadn't received any other complaints, almost as if our complaint were a figment of our imagination. I regret not checking the pizzas immediately, because they all needed to be remade. A real shame, considering the quality to which we had been accustomed to this place in the past.

31/10/2025: Yesterday I celebrated my son's birthday... everything went perfectly... the food was excellent and delicious... everyone was happy... The staff was very kind and polite, and ready to listen to your every need... Arianna was excellent, very kind and helpful... The entertainers were also excellent, they know how to entertain the kids really well... I highly recommend it...

20/12/2025: Excellent pizza, truly! I haven't had such good pizza in years: light dough, well-cooked, and quality ingredients. I also had the pleasure of chatting with the pizza chef: knowledgeable, passionate, and very competent, and that definitely makes the difference. I should have asked his name to properly compliment him... I think I'll have to come back 😉

23/12/2025: I had the pleasure of dining on a classic pizza tour at this place, and it was a pleasant discovery. The fries, thinly sliced ​​and with the skin on, were a perfect blend of flavor and crunch. And the pizzas were all delicious, with a surprise dessert to finish: churros with Nutella (amazing!!). The staff and hosts were incredibly kind, and we felt completely at ease. My only suggestion: the place should be updated aesthetically, removing all those unnecessary mirrors and brightening up the colors. The palate is fine, but the eye deserves its share too!!! 😉

28/06/2025: Intrigued by the presence of a section of vegetarian and vegan pizzas, I decided to try the section of this pizzeria on the occasion of the Thursday promotion in which the classic pizzas cost €5 and the special ones €7. Once they arrived I sadly noticed that these pizzas, the vegetarian and vegan ones, were not included in the promotion (because they do not fall into the "special" category, I deduce). But why categorize pizzas that, apart from the addition of vegetable cheeses (present only in some, or on request) are simple pizzas with vegetables? What is the difference between these and a green calzone (which is among the classics) and among the many others present on the menu in the classic and special sections? The "vegetarian" pizza itself is not part of this separate list, but it is among the classics (and is included in the promotion). It is clear that the "vegetarian/vegan" section was created for marketing reasons (and in fact, it worked: I placed the order first!) but that is precisely the problem. If you choose to promote yourself as a place that is attentive to the needs of those who follow a plant-based diet (with a page dedicated to the green proposal), excluding these pizzas from the weekly offers makes them "other", "different", and not an integral part of the menu. In this way, you penalize those who make a different ethical or dietary choice, and you betray the spirit of inclusiveness that a veg section should represent. My criticism is therefore not so much about the lack of transparency, as in fact if you refer to the mere title of the section it is right that vegetarian pizzas are not the object of the promotion, but the very choice behind this thing. A true veg-friendly menu should not be limited to a label, but should be fully integrated into the rest of the offer, promotions included, without therefore categorizing them separately as if they were "other". I repeat, the same pizzas could have easily been in the traditional sections of the menu (with possibly the surcharge for plant-based cheeses if requested). I write all this with regret, because the pizza was good, and I would have definitely ordered it again in the future, if I hadn't felt excluded instead of included. The goal of a veg-friendly menu should be to encourage the consumption of plant-based products even for those who are not vegetarian/vegan, but this is not the case and, in fact, in this way, it discourages it.

23/06/2025: I ordered two pizzas on Just Eat. One called for fried zucchini, but it came with roasted zucchini. The other called for buffalo mozzarella, but the cheese was grainy and didn't taste like buffalo. To top it all off, a hair stuck in the mozzarella. The only positives were the speed of delivery and the friendliness of the delivery man.

05/01/2026: One of the best traditional pizzas I've ever had, with a wonderful dough and texture. The pizza chef is very skilled and creative. Gourmet pizzas are carefully prepared. A highly regarded location, facing the main entrance to the Cathedral. Magnificent view of a beautiful square. Very quiet and well-organized. Excellent and attentive service. The owner is very kind and friendly, ready to accommodate any request... Excellent place. I will gladly return to visit. 🤩🤩🤩

01/01/2026: It's a good restaurant with a view of the historic church. The service is a bit slow, but it was worth the wait. 45 minutes for kebabs. They were absolutely delicious 🤤.

05/10/2025: Total disgrace for home delivery. Poor service in every way. Ordered 2 pizzas and a hot mixed pizza. - The Diavola Pizza, which was supposed to contain (spicy salami, mozzarella, mushrooms, and black olives), arrived as a Margherita. - The Parma Pizza only came with arugula and mushrooms on top, which the menu supposedly contained (mozzarella, prosciutto, and parmesan). - The hot mixed pizza on the menu was a 1-portion pizza with: chips, panelle, croquettes, battered vegetables, Ascoli olives, and mozzarella balls. ** A small tray of chips arrived with exactly 2 potato croquettes and that was it. Ordered at 8:08 PM - the app gave me a preparation and delivery time of around 24-28 minutes, but obviously the time extended to 9:25 PM. Once it arrived...surprise! I found what I found. I called the restaurant, and the gentleman, very upset about the call, told me he'd come pick up everything within 10 minutes and refund me. It's been over an hour since I'm writing this review. Not so much about the money, but rather about the complete rip-off.

01/08/2025: If I could give it zero stars, I would... it's a terrible place. While it used to be accessible to the disabled, today it's completely full of barriers. I have a daughter in a wheelchair, and the only thing I've noticed, besides the increased cost for an umbrella and two deckchairs, is the lack of consideration for those, like me, who have a disabled family member. Costs are rising, and services should be increased, but instead I can only draw a negative conclusion. I'll list all the difficulties, hoping that those who manage this place, with so much under-exploited potential, can make some changes: 1) To add a row of umbrellas, they decided to remove the platform that, for those with mobility difficulties, allowed them to move to the showers, which are inaccessible with wheelchairs; 2) Many obstacles that create significant architectural barriers (I would advise anyone planning to sit in a wheelchair and try the routes; perhaps that's the only way to truly understand); 3) Let's go to the disabled restroom: the path is full of obstacles (you'll find everything, disused chairs, shopping carts, etc.), not to mention the filth (the restroom is always dirty and I've never had the joy of seeing it clean). 4) From the beach, you can't reach the chair and umbrella area because there's no walkway. The only positive thing is the Job chair, but you can't use it to reach the umbrella, too; it's absurd! It's a shame to find this place like this...sometimes, you should think more about people's needs than your own interests. I'm not writing this to disparage, but to offer advice, as I've seen disabled people who have had the same difficulties as me.

The fries and eggplant tasted terrible. I only ate half of it because I paid for it! The table service girl was quite polite! The rest was awful.
