We arrive at the restaurant and after a few minutes the waiter shows up to take our order in a hurry, we ask for a few more minutes and he disappears completely from the radar! After a bit of time spent admiring the plastic flower at the table and the lady who poured us the water by stretching her arm in front of the diner's face rather than going around, we manage to complete the order in a few seconds and almost without a response to our thanks. We receive the appetizer with boiled octopus completely overwhelmed by the taste of the giardiniera full of vinegar, a scampi not properly cleaned of the intestine, a tasteless raw shrimp and a few other normal things; only during the work did they bring us the spoon to divide the portions throwing it on the cuttlefish boat fortunately already empty. The main courses arrived when we still had the appetizer plates on the table and we had to help the guy in trouble, who when we asked for a knife, spoon and plate for the shrimp heads looked at us as if we had asked for the moon, in addition to the wait of several minutes, which however gave us time to appreciate the parsley leaf with jaundice that decorated our plates of couscous, marked on the menu as hand-cooked. And here a chapter opens, since it was clearly pre-cooked. When we asked for confirmation from the phenomenon who had taken the order, he began with a loving "let's not talk stupid things" seasoned with a series of stories about how they have been offering top-quality food for 35 years and how we clearly didn't understand anything, all without even letting us finish a sentence without interrupting us. When our request to speak to the owner was completely ignored, we decided to leave everything at the table and end the evening like this. The lady at the cash register couldn't do anything beyond shrug her shoulders and round up the bill by €2.50. We were robbed of a good €70 for eating almost nothing and being taken for fools by people who present themselves as a high-class restaurant when the quality of food and service are to be considered below the worst dive, where at least you eat well.

15/02/2025: It was the first and last time. Pizza was nothing, there was no service.. we asked for the menu and chose the pizzas at the time of payment. We realized that we had paid more than the price on the menu, we pointed this out to the cashier saying that the menu was old and there had been increases..... we were not refunded the difference and we will never go back again..

22/06/2025: Unfortunately it is no longer the Ottagono bar that I knew 20 years ago, I was there recently and it disappointed me both in terms of service and consumption, I ordered a hot food and while I was consuming it I saw that inside there were two live insects (I had to throw it away), I asked the counter clerk for a glass of water six times who did not listen to me, he was busy chatting about his business with a colleague, I took it, turned around and left and never again.

18/05/2025: Restaurant with a sea view and tables also outside where we ate mussel soup and mussels with pepper, very good, as well as a beef stew with Nero d'Avola, also very good. The only thing a little below par was the mixed fried fish, which, although still acceptable, was not up to par with the other dishes. Excellent choice of wines and drinks in general (they have an infinite variety of bitters). The staff is kind and friendly, the service is fast and the prices are affordable. Definitely worth trying.

21/05/2025: I have been there several times for both lunch and dinner, and what can I say? The prices are really great and the food is top notch, from lunch to pizza. We have never been disappointed, great service, good staff, and the owner is very knowledgeable about the food. WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN!

28/04/2025: Sono stata alla Trattoria Nonna Vita e, sebbene il personale sia stato molto educato e il locale, recentemente rinnovato, curato e accogliente, purtroppo la cucina non mi ha convinta. Non ho apprezzato nessuno dei piatti assaggiati e anche la pizza è risultata solo sufficiente. È davvero un peccato, perché l’ambiente ha ottime potenzialità. Consiglierei di migliorare la qualità degli alimenti per offrire un’esperienza gastronomica all’altezza delle aspettative.
