We chose the combination of two "married" pizzas and I must admit that the quality was absolute. The wine list is well-stocked, with selected labels to enhance every type of dish. Whoever I recommended or accompanied for a beautiful evening at "Ai Sapori Doc" was so happy that they returned independently and in turn extended it to relatives and friends. 26/03/2025: I went back there last night after a while and it was a pleasant rediscovery...a familiar and welcoming place, the pizza was one of the best I've eaten recently and the service was fast and attentive.

It is not the best in Palermo, but given the prices and the variety of dishes available, I would recommend it for those who are not looking for sophisticated places with absurd prices, but something quiet without too many pretensions

19/02/2025: This pizzeria – a place where orders often turn into a surprise. Among other things, we ordered a "Tonno with onions and extra salami", but instead we got a pizza that tasted more like "Tonno with hope and fantasy". Where were the onions and salami? Probably on another pizza with double toppings. The dough was okay, the cheese was melty, but the mystery of the missing ingredients bothered us more than the pizza itself. The waiter just said with a grin: "Today was probably the onion without salami day." Ora allora. Conclusion: If you're in the mood for a culinary surprise and don't mind that your order is just a rough guide, you've come to the right place. For us it was an average adventure with a pinch of Sicilian chaos. 🍕

14/03/2025: Tutto terribile, hanno portato il nostro antipasto alle persone sedute accanto a noi (loro sono arrivati mezz'ora dopo di noi), per farla completa le loro pizze sono arrivate molto prima. Tra l'altro pizze imbarazzanti, 15 euro per una pizza piu sottile di una soletta per le scarpe. Non verrò mai più

Just good taste and presentation, with reasonable price, no pretentious Michelin BS we tried elsewhere in Sicily that tried too much to impress but failed even in the most basic aspect of cuisine such as the amount of salt! Balata is just pure culinary cuisine, with excellent transparent display of competent chefs at work. (You can even talk to them and ask questions! They’re that friendly). The waiters are friendly and communicative. We just had to keep coming back here and open yet another bottle of their fantastic Sicilian Syrah wine. Can’t believe some clueless clients have them one star. You want huge portion? Go to a pizzeria.
