22/02/2026: Went there by chance after countless phone calls trying to find an open restaurant. It was a pleasant and fortuitous discovery: intimate and refined atmosphere, prompt service, and delicious food. Right in the center of Modugno, excellent value. Will return if possible.

03/02/2026: In Modugno for work, I returned to this restaurant today for lunch with a colleague. The quality of the dishes and ingredients blends seamlessly with the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The same can be said of the wait staff present today. I will definitely be back...

22/02/2026: The Universo restaurant is truly a universe of flavors and Salento hospitality. I stopped for Sunday lunch and everything was delicious: fresh and tasty dishes, good house wine, and the orange and almond cake that finished it all was excellent. The staff were truly kind and helpful, never intrusive.

08/02/2026: A Sunday Lunch Between Seafood Flavors and Family Warmth There's nothing better than gathering the family around a table filled with the aroma of salt and tradition. Our lunch at Ristorante Universo was a true journey of flavor, an experience that celebrated the quality of the ingredients with a touch of creativity. The variety of dishes made sharing a constant pleasure: We started with a lively mix: from crispy mixed fried fish to classic mixed fried fish (always a surefire hit for adults and children), through to a refreshing octopus and shrimp salad and exquisite au gratin mussels, perfectly golden. The First Courses (The Heart of the Lunch): The real star was the seafood risotto. Perfectly creamed, with a vibrant touch of saffron and more. Equally worthy were the spaghetti all'Adriatica and paccheri agli abissi, rich dishes where the pasta captured every nuance of the sea. Even the French fries, served rustically, lived up to the standards of a carefully crafted lunch. We ended on a high note with a jar of tiramisu, creamy and authentic in flavor, the perfect way to cap off a special Sunday. Ristorante Universo confirms itself as an excellent choice for those seeking the legacy of tradition (the good kind, passed down from generation to generation) combined with attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. A place where "eating well" means feeling at home, but with the privilege of having the best of the catch on your plate. Highly recommended for those who want to turn an ordinary Sunday into a wonderful memory.

06/01/2026: In this place, it seems as if time has stood still. Even the prices are stuck in the '80s. The food, the dishes, and the decor are impressive. You feel the passage of time, but the quality of the food and the personality of the place will stay with you, involving you in a high-quality culinary experience. Don't come if you're looking for, or expecting, something chic. Here, you'll find it. The tradition and affection of old-fashioned owners...who, reluctantly, can't allow the present to trample on the past. Delicious meat...We're in Sammichele, traditional first courses...excellent cured meats, comfortable location.

08/03/2026: March 8, 2026 We chose the Antica Porta di Levante restaurant because it was featured in the Slow Food guide, which has never disappointed us. This time, however, we were greatly disappointed. First of all, they forgot to include our reservation, and that wasn't a good sign. As for the food, I can say that the only dish that lived up to Slow Food standards was the hand-chopped beef tartare. The rest of the dishes were just okay and full of cooking errors. The leek flan, our other appetizer, was good but not exceptional. For our first course, we had the lasagna with fresh artichokes, which wasn't exceptional either. The béchamel sauce wasn't as soft and creamy as I'd expected, and it was also served in a very deep dish, almost a bowl, making it difficult to eat. For our second course, we had the pan-fried pigeon with roast potatoes and the rabbit. The pigeon was good but a bit dry because it was served in a metal pan, sitting on a bed of burnt potatoes that stuck to the bottom, so much so that we barely managed to eat half of it. The rabbit was also tough and stringy, with a paltry side of carrots that weren't particularly flavorful. And what can I say about the coffee crème brûlée? It tasted like a slightly runny pudding. The whole thing cost 70 euros per person. The problem isn't the cost, but the fact that the quality didn't match the price paid.

17/02/2026: Another dinner at this restaurant, as always charming and with a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, which I really like. Unfortunately, unlike several other times, I didn't find the food up to my expectations. Quite the opposite. First of all, I found it odd, to say the least, that the menu featured a fish appetizer without a corresponding fish first or second course. With such an appetizer, I would have expected at least a matching first or second course (preferably both). There was, however, a fish first course off the menu, so I opted for that. However, the whole thing was quite disappointing: the appetizer was a squid salad (I thought it was octopus tentacles) which was bland and almost cold; the first course was tagliolini with shrimp ragù and shrimp tartare on top: the latter, in my opinion, didn't fit in well, its texture completely disconnected from the rest (it seemed like two different dishes mixed together). Overall, I wasn't very satisfied. The wine was average (Verdicchio, local Pinot). The price, in my opinion, was reasonable; I was expecting something more, so this aspect was positive.

24/07/2025: Excellent quality restaurant, delicious food and dishes with a wide variety, very professional and helpful staff, very welcoming, I recommend it to everyone, excellent in everything.

18/07/2025: We were there for work, and were welcomed as if we were their grandchildren. The owners, Filippo and Rosaria, are two genuine, hard-working people who do everything they can to make their guests feel welcome and cared for, as do their daughters who help them, who are also tireless. After 15 days, we were sad to leave them; we felt at home. We returned two years later, again for work. The place has been completely renovated, but fortunately the spirit hasn't. I will return as soon as possible, and we will continue to return. Thank you again for everything you have done and continue to do. If you pass through Roseto, you can't miss this place. The cuisine is simple, but very good, and they are always attentive to the customer's needs. A big hug to the whole family. Fabrizio "Loren" 😁

19/02/2026: I've been there twice. Every time I go to Bari, it's a place I really enjoy going to for a meal and a great pizza. It's a rather unique pizzeria because it makes several different types of pizza, with a wide variety of flavors. The prices aren't the cheapest, but the quality of the ingredients makes it worth it.

21/08/2025: The hotel faces the beach, and it's wonderful to eat in the restaurant overlooking the beach: it's almost like being on the veranda. The breakfast offered a lovely selection, with the hotel's exposure to the sun, and it's beautiful, and you can admire the sunrise while eating in the restaurant room, almost like being on the veranda. The choice and variety at lunch and dinner are more than excellent, including classic dishes with good Italian and international cuisine, as well as generous portions. Given the proximity to the sea, it's quiet, and you can sleep with the windows open without having to use the air conditioning. The owners and staff are always available, friendly, and accommodating. The really good quality/price ratio; I highly recommend it.
