10/07/2025: The name is spot on: it's a refuge. You can reach it on foot, and you're immersed in silence and tranquility. The food is excellent, the prices are very fair, and the owners are warm and friendly. It's worth spending a day there in complete relaxation.

05/10/2025: After a beautiful short hike in Val Sabbiola, my husband and I stopped for lunch. We didn't have to wait, and everything was very enjoyable: good food, very kind and fast staff, pleasant and relaxing atmosphere with a view of the mountains and the Mastallone River. We'd been here before and can confirm how positive everything was. The price was reasonable.

07/09/2025: A beautiful place with knowledgeable and friendly staff, in the historic center, just steps from the square named after Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, hence the name Camillo's Bakery. I recommend the Piedmontese Fassona burger, with artisanal bread, and the excellent beers.

12/10/2025: Drawn by the reviews and especially the goals, this morning I took advantage of a short trip to Vercelli to try Il Mattarello. Just one comment on the quality of the service, the coffee, and the pastries: amazing! Keep it up!

29/10/2025: A charming little hotel on the main street of Varello. The rooms are small but very cozy. Dario, the owner, is a nice and smiling man, remembers exactly how everyone likes their coffee. The bed is very comfortable, the rooms are clean and the shower is small but new. There is no kettle in the rooms but There is a small tea corner in the hallway. The central location is perfect! We spent 5 nights here as part of a retreat held at the hotel so we also enjoyed our stay there. European breakfast, delicious dinners but no offerings for kosher or vegans. The rooms are not air conditioned so this may be a problem in the summer, we were there in the fall and enjoyed the central heating and the view of the waterfall from the room. Definitely a recommended hotel that will be fun to return to.

15/11/2025: A trattoria with a vintage atmosphere located on the outskirts of Vercelli. Easy to get to, convenient parking. The rooms are spacious, with slightly dated decor, but the traditional Piedmontese food is truly delicious. Generous portions, attentive and efficient service. We tried a truly delicious, freshly prepared panissa, and the veal with tuna sauce was plentiful and flavorful. The platters of mixed Piedmontese fritto misto I saw at nearby tables were equally inviting. I'll be back to try it. A dive into tradition. I recommend it.

04/10/2025: What can I say... from business lunches to convivial dinners, you can literally feel at HOME here. The quality of the food is EXCELLENT: tradition, passion, and a touch of originality! I highly recommend the poached egg, simply exceptional, and the plin—they may be my favorites, but they're truly among the best in the area (and beyond!). Everything is prepared by Marina's expert hands, and then there's Rinaldo, a host from another era: capable of creating a consistently serene atmosphere, filled with smiles and authenticity. A small team capable of doing great things!

24/10/2025: The perfect combination of wine, tasting menu, beautiful weather, and fantastic service. It turned into one of those afternoons where everything just felt right. The food kept coming, course after course, each one full of flavour and paired perfectly with the wines. This place has something special. It’s not only about what you eat and drink, but also how warmly you’re welcomed and how relaxed you feel. It’s not my first visit here, and every time it feels just as good as the last. Grazie e a presto! 🍷

21/10/2025: Beautiful place near Monforte d'Alba. But everything is very impersonal and rather superficial. The tasting menu is very good, but the service is rushed and you feel like a burden. Breakfast is very simple, and the service is reserved and lacks joy. They didn't explain what was on offer; you had to ask for everything yourself. The room is nice and comfortable, but the mattress is bad. Parking is available, but it's a lottery on weekends when the hotel is full with guests in the restaurant. No mention of this being a problem. The reception upon our arrival was also very cold. We didn't feel welcome and won't be coming again.

18/10/2025: I strongly suggest for a sushi all you can eat! We had so many great dinners here. They have the freshest fish and lots of options in the menu. Chinese food is also delicious and the ambiance is cozy and well decorated. Staff is fast, professional and super friendly.

11/10/2025: Terrible experience! The food was completely tasteless, the fried food was rubbery, and the spring roll filling was so overcooked you felt like you were eating baby food. The rolls were basically just rice, and the gunkan? It was like eating absolutely nothing (it's salmon, it should at least taste like salmon!). A waste of money.

19/10/2025: We stopped with the team after a game: highly recommended. The dish of the day was an exceptional risotto with ossobuco. Alternatively, pizzas and other dishes from the à la carte menu are available.

18/08/2025: We received a very warm welcome even though we hadn't booked. The pizzas are good, the ingredients are fresh. The lemon and saffron ravioli are excellent. The staff is attentive and friendly. It's a good restaurant, I recommend it.

13/10/2025: It's always a pleasure to return to Varallo and have lunch at La Sfinge. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the ingredients are fresh and excellent, the place is tidy and clean. I was really satisfied with my gluten-free pizza, which was truly excellent and one of the best I've ever tried. The fried fish and desserts my parents ordered were also excellent. La Sfinge is always a reliable choice, even over time.

08/09/2025: A German-style restaurant-pub. The place is beautiful, tidy, and stylish. The staff is very friendly and professional, and the bathrooms are clean. Outside dining is also available. The pizza is excellent, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the beer is also available. Sonia spoiled us, convincing us to try the homemade desserts. They were delicious, and she's very good...we'll be back.
