20/02/2025: The experience at Villa Crespi was beyond our already high expectations. We chose the "Itinerary" menu and it was literally a journey of colors and tastes, with various references to the Neapolitan tradition. We really appreciated the surprise of an extra dessert for our anniversary. The super qualified and kind staff. Perhaps the service between one course and another was a little too fast, but you still managed to appreciate each dish. The interior of the villa is a spectacle and it was also possible to leave the car to be able to walk around Orta San Giulio after lunch.

19/02/2025: I had the chance to enter chef Cannavacciuolo's starred kitchen, a fantastic experience with chef Simone who showed us the preparation of 3 dishes. What can I say about the lunch which was all exceptional and of excellent quality. Friendly, impeccable and very professional staff. The only regret was not being able to fully realize my dream of meeting Chef Cannavacciuolo because unfortunately he wasn't there that day. It would be nice to book and be sure to meet him.

02/03/2025: I visited for a light dinner. I had eaten a big lunch so I came here to have a light meal. I ordered wine-braised salsiccia and steak tartare. And two glasses of wine. This cost me 40 euros. There is plenty of salsiccia and the flavor is good. Steak tartare is dressed with nuts and is a nice accent. The interior is tasteful and relaxing. There are a wide variety of wines, so you can enjoy a variety of things.

27/01/2025: Small place in Orta San Giulio where you can have a delicious aperitif/dinner based on bruschetta or platters and some dishes (we ate an excellent wine sausage) while sipping a good wine. Advised!

05/01/2025: Beautiful restaurant in the main square. Excellent service and very kind staff. I found the food very fresh and of high quality, really good dishes at very honest prices. I would recommend it to everyone for a dinner by the lake! I will definitely go back.

03/11/2024: Sono stata a cena con mio marito. Abbiamo scelto qualcosa dal menu alla carta. E dobbiamo dire che, nonostante il prezzo pagato, siamo usciti con fame… Mio marito ha scelto un antipasto con gamberi crudi. I gamberi erano due di numero…. Il secondo piatto era una porzione decisamente scarsa. Il mio secondo piatto prevedeva amiche un’insalata di puntarelle. Risultato? Mi sono trovata un’unica puntarella nel piatto… fate voi. Non discuto la qualità perché i piatti erano ottimi, ma la quantità decisamente scarsa per il prezzo pagato. La carta dei vini, di cui non discuto la ottima selezione, parte da un prezzo minimo di 50€. Insomma , un ristorante pretenzioso che mi ha deluso. Si atteggiano a stellati quando stellati non sono? Forse vogliono fare una selezione sin da subito. Io non ci torno… e mi stupiscono tutte queste recensioni solo positive.

04/01/2025: Nella piazza principale del paese, possibilità di tavoli esterni nella bella stagione, locale accogliente e ben curato. All’ingresso un bel banco salumi e formaggi, parecchie le etichette proposte. Menù propone un vasto assortimento di taglieri con affettati e formaggi, poi qualche piatto del giorno e solo qualche piatto di cucina, ma comunque sufficiente. Abbiamo scelto due zuppe (cipolle e zucca) e poi un tagliere, porzioni corrette buone materie primi bei abbinamenti coi vini. Un buon posto dove fare un abbondante aperitivo o un pranzo informale.Prezzo nella norma.

01/01/2025: Courtesy and helpfulness of the excellent reception, now rare to find nowadays. At check out, thinking that we still wanted to take walks in the historic villages on foot, they did us the great courtesy of being able to leave the car still in the internal car park and pick it up later.

19/10/2024: Posizionato sulla Via principale del Centro di Orta, a poca distanza dalla piazza centrale, questo locale è stata una piacevole scoperta: ottima accoglienza, ambiente luminoso ed ospitale, pietanze originali e molto gustose. Ottimi i tagliolini al ragù di cinghiale e fuori dal consueto la preparazione e la presentazione del coniglio. Le portate sono quantitativamente adeguate, nonostante il locale possa presentarsi del tipo ricercato (“gourmet”). Veramente degno di menzione lo zabaione (qui, chiamato “zabaglione”) … €. 9,00 possono sembrare eccessivi, ma la porzione è decisamente abbondante ed è ampiamente proporzionata per due persone. €. 4,00 per una bottiglia d’acqua (in bottiglia di vetro, imbottigliata e tappata alla fonte … e non di quelle microfiltrate, imbottigliate in cucina) possono risultare eccessivi, ma considerato che non viene applicato il coperto (nonostante il tavolo sia imbandito con tovaglia e tovaglioli di stoffa ed il servizio sia impeccabile) e mi è stato praticato anche uno sconto … beh! Non c’è nulla di cui lamentarsi. Ho molto apprezzato i libri e le riviste di alto pregio culturale, presenti nel locale. Molto gradevole la conversazione con la titolare, che accoglie, all’entrata, e saluta i clienti, dopo il pagamento, con molta cordialità (… qualità non molto diffusa nel V.C.O., dove spesso si ha l'impressione di essere tollerati soltanto perchè si paga la visita).

24/02/2025: Average food quality while terrace was closed (while it's such a nice weather outside and other places in Orta have their terraces open), some of cutlery was dirty and the staff wasn't too nice. Quite dissappointing.

07/02/2025: Well, unfortunately, if you had found it open, you might have eaten well, but given that even though they were open, they were as beautiful as they were frayed, there was no pleasure. 23/02/2025: My wife and I found ourselves in this place during a visit to Orta with some friends. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is good and the view of the lake and island is splendid. Absolutely recommended

03/02/2025: Molto piaciuto il menù con numero di proposte limitate, che a mio parere sono una garanzia di qualità e rapidità di servizio. Provato: spaghetti (pasta fatta a mano) ai frutti di mare, tagliere misto salumi e formaggi (abbondante) e paella mista pollo e gamberetti (perfettamente puliti). Servizio rapido e professionale. Bella sala con vista lago,comodo il posteggio interno. Qualità /prezzo: OK!

03/01/2025: Siamo stati a cena il 31 dicembre perché, che io sapessi, era uno dei pochi locali dove si poteva cenare senza dover fare il cenone... Ci siamo trovati benissimo, gentile la ragazza che serviva al tavolo e che faceva cocktail, gentile lo chef che ci ha permesso di stare al tavolo finché volevamo... siamo poi usciti per vedere i fuochi artificiali... I ravioli di salmerino ottimi ... ci siamo trovati talmente bene che siamo tornati per il pranzo del 01 gennaio... Abbiamo preso il tagliere di salumi e formaggi della zona ... davvero ottimo e per finire ... il pandoro tostato con zabaione! Se torniamo in zona, sarà un locale dove ritornare sicuramente!

18/12/2024: Lo consiglierei a chi non ha grandi aspettative su cosa mangiare, non in cerca di tradizione gastronomica o di qualità. Può essere comunque una buona opzione per gruppi, direi soprattutto con bambini, perché c’è tanto spazio e la vista resta comunque magnifica: tanto bella da lasciarmi un po’ perplesso sul fatto di dare quattro punti, il livello del cibo in aggiunta al prezzo medio hanno avuto però la meglio.

02/11/2024: Excellent option for a romantic dinner in summer, with prices around 30 euros each. Dishes well executed and presented in a beautiful setting; small portions. We particularly appreciated the starters and desserts, the rest was good but less original. If you want to make an impression without having to apply for a mortgage, this is a good option. Not far away is a small beach, where you can lie down and admire the stars. Attached parking.
