21/11/2025: The rooms are old, and the showers are not particularly pleasant, but considering the significance of staying in a historical building and having breakfast and dinner, the all-inclusive package was a good choice. Due to the schedule, I was only able to have dinner one day, but if possible, I would have liked to have dinner twice. The incredibly delicious breakfast is something to be had, and dinner goes without saying. Cannavacciolo was also very nice, and I became an even bigger fan.

19/11/2025: I came especially from England, where I've lived for over 12 years, to celebrate my birthday with my partner at Villa Crespi restaurant, and I can say it was an experience I'll cherish forever. We chose the "Nel Nome del Gusto" tasting menu with wine pairing, and from the first course, it was an extraordinary sensory journey: an explosion of colors, aromas, and flavors that captivated me. Some dishes even transported me back in time, to my beloved grandmother's kitchen—a sweet and intense memory that only high-quality cuisine, crafted with love, can provide. I'm not a food critic or a food influencer; I love cooking, but above all, I love eating well. And I can say with absolute certainty that the quality and freshness of the ingredients were more than evident. Every dish told a story, every bite exuded passion. The location is simply enchanting: the majestic Moorish-style villa overlooking Lake Orta seems like something out of a dream. Every architectural detail, from the Moorish arches to the decorated ceilings, contributes to creating a timeless atmosphere, where elegance and warmth coexist in perfect harmony. The rooms are intimate and refined, meticulously designed, and the garden surrounding the villa conveys a sense of tranquility and absolute beauty. It's a place that speaks to the soul even before the palate. The service was impeccable: the entire staff stood out for their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail. I felt pampered, welcomed as if by a large family, but with the elegance and discretion that only a special place can offer. Unbeknownst to me, my partner had mentioned in the reservation that it was my birthday and that I'm a big fan of Chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo. When they brought me a cake with a candle before dessert, I couldn't help but be moved. A simple yet meaningful gesture, which encapsulates the soul of Villa Crespi: attention, care, and love for the customer. The evening concluded with an unexpected and unforgettable encounter: I had the honor of meeting the Chef. I confess that the emotion was so strong it left me speechless—a true culinary Stendhal syndrome! I couldn't thank him as much as I would have liked, so I hope these words reach him and his wonderful team: thank you for making this experience a dream. Villa Crespi is like a perfect orchestra: each person plays their instrument with passion, and under the direction of a great Maestro, together they create a harmony that envelops and uplifts you. I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat anywhere else with the same wonder.

16/09/2025: Highly recommended hotel. The service was impeccable and staff friendly. Only thing to put a finger on was the cobwebs in the room and terrace. Apart from that: Great view, peaceful, great food, beautiful pool, helpful and friendly staff. Just a great stay overall.

12/09/2025: Located in an exceptional location with breathtaking views. We received a very warm welcome; the staff was charming, always smiling and helpful. As for the restaurant, we really appreciated the selection of its menu, the quality of the food, the impeccable service, and not to mention the layout of the terrace where we ate.

19/10/2025: Mediocre food, service that would be better without it. The atmosphere? Indoors, with birds eating with you. Unfortunately, being the only restaurant in the area allows them to treat customers however they want. I won't return, nor will I recommend it. Unfortunately, 0 doesn't exist, because otherwise, it would be the rating that best reflects the restaurant.

13/10/2025: I booked at Ristorante San Giulio for my mom's birthday, and I have to say we were thrilled! The menu was excellent, every dish delicious and meticulously crafted; the cake we commissioned was delicious and stunning; our table was on the covered terrace overlooking the lake; and the very kind, attentive, and professional staff made this a truly wonderful experience. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

19/10/2025: We were welcomed, served, and pampered magnificently... The ingredients were of the highest quality, the food was delicious and a little different from the usual, the place was spotless and welcoming, the staff was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. We were served by waiter Fabio, who truly took care of us, even moving our table as soon as he could because the door was left open for outside service, allowing some fresh air to flow in near our table. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend it!

The service was outstanding — friendly, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. The menu offered a fantastic selection of dishes, and every plate we tried was a masterpiece. Fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and beautiful presentation made the meal truly unforgettable. The [insert favorite dish] was a standout! Olina Restaurant is a gem — perfect for a special occasion or simply enjoying a high-quality meal. We left happy, full, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!

13/06/2025: The cooking is still done by hand and with a lot of imagination. The prices are fair and absolutely reasonable. I had tortelloni filled with pumpkin and amatetto filling. My wife had catfish dumplings with polenta. The starter, a perch fillet with dried zucchini, was free... Also free were the faces of the Teutons who expected something different on their plates.

The food is made with top-quality ingredients, and the vegetables come from the on-site garden, which you can even see while dining. You can opt for a 5-course tasting menu, with the option to add the chef's signature dishes (around €100 each, portions for two). We went à la carte. The quality and taste of the dishes are undeniably high, but the portions are quite small. So either keep the prices with larger portions, or lower the prices while keeping the dishes small, allowing you to try more items; at the moment, they feel more like “bites” than full courses. Aside from this, the place is absolutely worth a visit: both the food and the view make the trip worthwhile—maybe next time staying in one of the suites for the full experience. Let me start by saying that I was here for lunch and did not stay at the hotel. The location is beautiful, surrounded by nature, with a breathtaking view of Lake Orta. The style blends perfectly with the surrounding environment. The food uses the highest quality ingredients, and the vegetables come from the garden, which is visible even while you eat. You can choose a five-course tasting menu, with the option of adding the chef's signature dishes (about €100 each, portions for two). We opted for the à la carte option. The quality and flavor of the dishes are unquestionable, truly top-notch, but the portions are too small, especially considering they aren't part of the tasting menu but were chosen à la carte. So either they maintain these prices with larger portions, or they lower the prices by keeping the dishes small so you can also try other dishes; for now, we can consider them more like "bites" than actual courses. This detail aside, the place is definitely worth a visit: the quality and view are worth the trip, perhaps in the future staying in one of the suites to enjoy the full experience.

25/08/2025: Not worth the price. The chef’s tasting menu consisted only of vegetarian dishes, save for the last dish of the night. That’s great if you like vegetarian food, not so if you’re a meat eater, also not so for the price. The cocktails were superb. Everything else was just okay - lacking in depth. Food aside, the service was lovely (the blankets provided were divine) and the setting was beautiful. Would I go back? Maybe but stay away from the chef’s table - it’s was not worth it in our minds.

22/08/2025: I went there three times during my stay in Orta San Diego, just for breakfast with my son. A more than adorable welcome, attentive waitresses, a cappuccino to die for, and very reasonable prices (€1.60 for a cappuccino). The cafeteria opens at 8:00 a.m., a time when you can easily park in the free white spaces. Finally, behind it, you can sit in the quiet garden.

25/10/2025: Great restaurant. The atmosphere is super cozy. The 60s soul funk music is incredibly cool. We were there in October, and the small fireplace was on, which made it even cozier. The dog got water. The service was very friendly. The food was sensational. We were very impressed!

09/12/2025: On Sunday evening, we dined at this restaurant, beautifully located right on the shores of Lake Orta. A welcoming interior with a lovely crackling fireplace, the restaurant offers both meat and fish dishes, along with an impressive wine cellar, including a fine Ghemme 2022 from Lorenzo Zanetta in Sizzano (Novara). After two glasses of Franciacorta, we each began with a baked onion stuffed with a cream cheese sauce, sausage, and dry Amaretto di Saronno. We then continued with delicate panciotti stuffed with chanterelle mushrooms and Fontina cheese, served with melted butter and sage, and an onion soup. We then shared a fantastic beef cheek (the meat was incredibly tender, it melted in your mouth!), cooked at a low temperature on mashed potatoes and carrots. Finally, desserts included a delicious Bonet mousse and a delicious crème caramel. A water and two coffees, for a final bill of €181 for two, perhaps a bit steep, but justified by the beautiful location (the indoor dining room is very pleasant in the winter, and the outdoor tables by the lake are certainly incredible in the summer!), and the deliciousness and quality of the ingredients used. Recommended.

09/11/2025: You enter a warm and comfortable environment. We tried creamed cod, onion with toma cheese and sausage, pikeperch with vegetables, cheek with puree, pear, chocolate, and ricotta cake, and bonet mousse. Good portions. The price was in line with the quantity and the location (a tavern on the shores of Lake Orta). The host was friendly and the service professional.

13/07/2025: Dopo aver fatto il giro all'isola di S.Giulio ci siamo fermati in questo ristorante che avevamo gia prenotato e si trova proprio sulla piazza di Orta; eravamo insieme ai nostri parenti venuti dall'Ecuador e abbiamo pranzato con bombom croccante, spaghetto Giacomo, tagliata di carne, insalata di polpo, spongecake ai lamponi, acqua e vino rosato; tutto ottimo e abbondante; la cameriera Federica è stata gentilissima anche nella spiegazione dei piatti; servizio rapido; buon rapporto qualità/prezzo; consigliatissimo !!!

30/06/2025: Posto unico, di grandi sapori e alta qualità. Consigliatissimo il vitello tonnato, lo spaghetto con datterino e stracciatella, da provare i numerosi antipasti e taglieri squisiti. Personale gentilissimo (Federica specialmente)

13/10/2025: We had dinner for two and had a wonderful time. As soon as we arrived, they asked us if we had any intolerances, and when I mentioned celiac disease, the waitress immediately reassured me by telling me they also had gluten-free pasta. While we waited, they brought me some packaged gluten-free bread, and my boyfriend some warm focaccia and homemade breadsticks (he said they were delicious) to try with a cold-pressed olive oil from Molise: top notch. Shortly afterward, some homemade bread arrived, crunchy and fragrant, truly delicious. Then they served us a small entrée on the house: a pork belly morsel with katsobushi and a sauce underneath, all gluten-free. Truly delicious. We had two risottos with saffron, marrow, and purple shrimp: super flavorful, just the right portions and perfectly balanced. The waitress was very kind, the service attentive, the wine excellent, and the bill more than fair for the quality. We felt pampered from start to finish. A truly pleasant discovery, we will definitely be back!

12/10/2025: Totally forgettable. It took forever to order (45 minutes from when we sat down). I ordered fregola with mussels (€18...) and a plate of 50g of fregola with 8 mussels arrived. I sent it back because it was very hard, and they brought it back 15 minutes later, saying they had cooked it (or reheated it, if anything...). Never again.
