21/12/2024: Given that I am the head of security for a royal family, and given that our objective was to bring a delegation of 6 people to dinner; I am going to explain the following; which is ridiculous, surprisingly mediocre and typically Italian: For 4 days in a row we try to get in touch with the structure (which does not offer the possibility of telephone reservations) and we are redirected to the site where it is specified that if there are more than 4 of us (you must take the same menu) and here, it already makes me smile.... The problem of the execution of the dishes and their complexity cannot be something that falls on the guest, who is the one who pays and who should have the freedom to choose the path he deems most appropriate. A deposit of 200 euros per person is required for the no show (and that's fine) or rather it would be fine if you could have a dialogue with an operator capable of answering questions such as the dress code, the menu and its alternatives, and above all service needs (as in our case) for technical tables, remediation inspections etc. But not having this possibility we decide to continue the search for a contact and on 11-20-2024 we try to force the system and get in touch with the hotel and at 4.10 pm a lady finally answers us. The lady has a pedantic tone, she is keen to point out to us that there is nothing strange in the fact that we cannot speak to an operator, and although we explain the delicacy of the situation, she continues to reiterate that it is all on the site and we WE MUST READ…. But are you so sure that a guest-customer who pays for the level of a 3 star is required to waste 2 hours to read the clauses and details of your entire site? Finally, the question of the dress code reaches the height of ridiculousness: The lady always with the same arrogant and fake noble air... specifies that you cannot go with jeans or sneakers and points out that it is an elegant place, with reference to the fact that there would be no problem for women given that the place is frequented only by super elegant women… So dear lady, We thank you because thanks to your precious information you have made us aware and put us in a position to be certain that your commercial offer is not of our interest, think that the gentlemen in question come from a country on the Arabian peninsula where he is a gentleman (he is not an elegantly dressed penguin), that is usually clothing reserved for workers (from managers to drivers to waiters), a gentleman is someone who knows how to be in the world and elegance lies in manners not in a dress (specified that since it was December no one would have come in flip flops or shorts) But if it always allows for reflection given that it is the customer who pays, as well as being free to decide what to eat, he should also be free to dress as he sees fit (respecting decorum and decency) and of course for a structure that "should" be of prestige. As an Italian I am ashamed of our inability to manage and welcome those who come with the intent of discovering and tasting

06/12/2024: Small place with rather rustic wooden furniture which gives a nice feeling of warmth. The managers are welcoming and good at putting you at ease. Good choice of wines. Some criticism of the cuisine. In the bruschetta trio, the choice of cheese combined with honey is risky in my opinion. The flavor is too strong and covers everything. We then had the sausage with wine: good but nothing special, while we liked the sweet ricotta and lemon. Fair price

20/10/2024: My wife and I participated in a two-day wellness and personal growth event in this splendid hotel, including two lunches and dinner. The event room is elegant, quiet, large and bright, with a beautiful view of the garden and lake. The dining room is spacious and much appreciated and the food is of excellent quality. The free internal parking is also very convenient. The location is wonderful and the value for money is excellent. The owners, Patrice and Michel are high-level professionals, capable, together with their staff, of welcoming and making every person feel at ease, satisfying every need. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience which we will certainly do again.

I have eaten in starred restaurants that were not up to the standard of Darbia cuisine. Chef Matteo is always present and makes every dinner special. Already booked for next year!

26/09/2024: We finally managed to get a table for lunch on Sunday. Expectations were high and they were amply rewarded! Spectacular location overlooking Lake Orta. You park easily in the reserved area. Immediately after, the double wooden door opens like a curtain onto the restaurant's organic vegetable garden, offering different scents and colors depending on the season. The route continues towards the outdoor bar where it is possible to enjoy an aperitif or dessert when the season and weather allow it. A few more steps and you reach the elegant restaurant room overlooking the garden with a terrace from which you can admire a wonderful panorama of Lake Orta. Upon your arrival, Chef Matteo Monfrinotti welcomes you with a smile, making you feel at home. The gastronomic offer is oriented to the territory, very creative and elegant. The flavors are unique and unforgettable. Spectacular as an entree and the aromatic butter to spread on the wholemeal bread they produce! We tried the pepper with green sauce (excellent), the fillet Wellington (divine) and finished with the Bonet (to remember) and the coffee accompanied by spoonful gianduia chocolate. The staff is all made up of very knowledgeable and kind young people: congratulations to them too. The Chef made sure to ask us how lunch was going several times, but never in a nagging way (which made us very happy). The bill was proportionate to the level of raw materials used, the service and the location. We had a very good time! Compliments. At least once in your life you must try Chef Monfrinotti's cuisine at Cucina della Darbia!

The quality of the raw materials and products, the kindness of all the staff at the reception and during the service made it possible to make a simple meal, made of cured meats, cheeses, sauces and giardiniera, bread and breadsticks, an unforgettable experience for flavors and authenticity.

10/11/2024: La Motta was THE best restaurant my husband and I visited in Orta San Giulio. The atmosphere was simple, but elegant. The waiter helped us select a local wine to accompany our dinner. The dishes were flavorful, and dessert was divine. If you are in Orta San Giulio, we highly recommend a dinner at this lovely establishment.

13/10/2024: Nos topamos con esta pizzería en nuestro primer día en Orta San Giulio , y después de buscar en otros lugares, terminamos aquí al día siguiente. El aroma cuando entramos era tan bueno, y nos dimos cuenta de un montón de gente mayor comiendo aquí. El precio era muy razonable, la pizza estaba fuera de este mundo, y el vino de mesa era fantástico, además de asequible. Recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar si quieres un estilo casero sensación y servicio que te hace sentir cálido y bienvenido!

02/11/2024: Excellent option for a romantic dinner in summer, with prices around 30 euros each. Dishes well executed and presented in a beautiful setting; small portions. We particularly appreciated the starters and desserts, the rest was good but less original. If you want to make an impression without having to apply for a mortgage, this is a good option. Not far away is a small beach, where you can lie down and admire the stars. Attached parking.

04/10/2024: Restaurant located in a very beautiful location. Italian cuisine with a menu only in Italian language not always easy to make your choice, normally most people are locals. A little disappointed with my gnocchi and service a little quick...still at the aperitif and the main course arrives. It's worth stopping there.
