30/05/2026: What a surprise! We went in blind and found a menu packed with dishes that were unlike anything you'd find at a typical Chinese restaurant. The potato pasta and fried eggplant are highly recommended. The kitchen, presumably to accommodate Western tastes, tends to keep the spices and heat to a minimum. If you like them, however, we recommend asking the staff to add them for an even more authentic experience!

18/05/2026: We celebrated our son Leonardo's first communion and everything was perfect. The location was beautiful, overlooking the river, and the food was excellent, from appetizers to first courses, main courses, and dessert. All our guests raved about it. Kudos to the staff and owners, who were always friendly, professional, and attentive to our needs, especially our son, who is celiac. He loved everything. What can I say? Definitely recommended, and we'll definitely be back.

14/05/2026: Today we had the pleasure of experiencing one of the most important days of our lives at Villa Pedrini, and we can honestly say that everything was simply perfect. From the very first moment, we were greeted with a rare kindness, made up of attention, professionalism, and human warmth. On such an emotionally charged day, feeling accompanied by such helpful people truly made the difference. The location is marvelous: elegant, well-kept, and capable of creating a romantic yet familiar atmosphere. Every detail seemed designed to make every moment special. The lunch was exceptional: carefully prepared dishes, the highest quality, and flavors that won over all our guests. You could sense the passion behind every course. But what we will truly cherish is the emotion this place left in us. On our wedding day, we didn't just feel like guests, but like people welcomed with affection and sincere attention. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for helping make a day we will remember forever unforgettable. ❤️

04/11/2025: I ordered a pizza, a bottle of water, and a portion of onion rings on Deliveroo. I waited over an hour, even though the pizzeria is less than 2 km away. The pizza arrived completely cold, and instead of the rings, I received potato croquettes, and there was no water at all. Absurd.

22/04/2026: This cafe/bakery is simply superb. It offers a comprehensive menu of savoury and sweet dishes and the most extensive range of teas I’ve encountered! Thoughtfully, teas are served with mini biscuits from their bakery. The freshly-made porridge with fresh fruits and peanut butter was the very best I’ve ever tasted: perfect flavours, texture and proportions. Equally, the freshly-made pancakes were superb. These seemingly simple dishes can be difficult to get right, but Crambs Bakery has mastered them. Our complements to the chef. Bravo! Staff are very friendly and attentive and, helpfully, they have an English language menu accessible via a QR code (although staff could also speak English). Served and enjoyed in a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, this is a gem of a place in Novara. Their prices are more than fair and reasonable for the high quality of food and service. We will definitely be back for more!

13/10/2025: We visited this restaurant on our way back from a weekend in the Ossola Valley and had a great time. The food was excellent, the service was fast, and the staff were very kind...they even pointed us in the right direction to get home! We enjoyed the appetizers (seafood salad and spinach flan with creamed parmesan), the taiarine pasta with fish ragù, and a mixed fried lake fish dish...all excellent...and the view of the lake!

27/12/2025: Very nice place. Really good food. The waiters were kind, polite, and attentive. You might be wondering why only 2 stars. If I could split the rating, I'd give 5 stars to the overall experience, the food, and the waiters, and 1 star to the "supposed owner" (or, at least, the person who pretended to be one). Throughout the lunch, she did nothing but read aloud the negative reviews of local restaurants, denigrating and ridiculing them. She then added a few minutes of criticism and polemic (not at all constructive) towards Villa Crespi, calling it inadequate and complaining that Orta is known only for the Villa and its Michelin-starred restaurant. She also stated loudly that Villa Crespi would delete negative Tripadvisor reviews so it always has good reviews. An unpleasant comment that confirms her intention to take pleasure in denigrating others. That said, if you enjoy good food at a traditional, local restaurant, I recommend it. I hope the woman reads this comment and realizes the bad publicity she's given not only to her competitors, but also to her own restaurant. My only practical advice for the restaurant: the dark bread is good, but the white one is a bit hard. I'd replace it.

22/04/2026: Cozy place with great wine as well as tasty food to snack on. The owner is a friendly, welcoming guy with a passion for what he does. Definitely stop by if you are in the area, you won't regret it. (there was also great music playing in the background which made our stay even better!)

22/04/2026: Great place to have delicious wines and along with other local delicacies. This place is one of the reasons we were so glad we stayed in Meina during our lake Maggiore vacation. The owner and his wife were super nice and welcoming. When we one day return to lake Maggiore, we will definitely come back here.

23/05/2026: CAFE DE LA SERA. Today, more than ever, the story of one of Arona's iconic lakeside venues continues. Let's put aside the fond memories of an after-dinner venue for the night; the management of these dynamic young people has created an incredibly contemporary and high-quality format. High-end themed cocktail menu, an impressive wine list packed with big names, provenances, and discoveries, and a small winemaker you'll rarely find so refined and well-structured. The youthful atmosphere has remained, and that's wonderful, and if we want to eat in the "Small" Room, which is more of a restaurant, it's truly a pleasure. What did I mean by Format? The food! We enjoyed it and had fun. The quality was top-notch, the cuisine using excellent ingredients, and for some dishes, you could choose a Tappa portion or a whole plate. I challenge you... reading the menu, you'll want to try everything. We also tried the traditional Plin, and here we truly got a standing ovation because the handmade quality beats even the Langhe-style establishments. Congratulations! DON'T MISS THE CAFE AT ANY TIME OF YOUR EVENING, the dear "Old" Legendary CAFE.

12/05/2026: The work and research of Nicolò, Jacopo, and all their collaborators deserves praise, and deserves it in writing. Rarely have I felt so at ease in these parts, and have I been able to appreciate such extensive research, the fruit of a passion I would dare to call voracious, yet conscious. Housed in a historic venue in the city of Arona, with a familiar, simple, and meticulously maintained exterior and interior overlooking Lake Maggiore, today this venue has a clear vision and a clearly defined direction. Their wine research, their skill in the kitchen, their unpretentious and unpretentious hospitality, as well as their desire to share their experiences and their thirst for listening to those who can add to their already profound knowledge, combined with their immense talent, have created a place that can make—and already does?—a huge difference on these shores. Work of this kind should be encouraged, supported, and perhaps even, in a certain sense, defended and protected, because it is increasingly rare and uncommon. In times when it's easy to talk about standardization, speed, superficiality, and disinterest, through places like this, which make wine and food a matrix of bonds and connections, it's possible to be amazed and moved again, to appreciate what's around you because there's so much that's good and beautiful. Step into the Café without any preconceptions, let yourself be drawn in, don't stop at the small selection of wines by the glass, and ask for the wine list without hesitation. The research has already been done, and you'll find someone who can guide you and perhaps instill a touch of passion that will make you more aware if you're not already. And if you already are, you'll find someone to share and explore with, and it will be a great celebration. Take the sharing plates, but don't miss the first courses, which are very skilled in the kitchen, and you might unexpectedly end up eating the best ravioli del plin you've ever had. Enjoy!
