09/12/2025: Beautiful location, meticulously maintained with a rustic feel. The staff were extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, especially at the restaurant. The village is very beautiful to visit; the rooms are spread across different buildings, all within a single property. There are, however, some downsides: the rooms are a bit too rustic, and the restaurant, in my opinion, is overpriced, especially for the portions. I had a fairly positive experience with breakfast, with a limited but satisfying selection of both sweet and savory dishes, featuring local specialties.

08/12/2025: A lovely place in Alba. We came here for an aperitivo and then decided to stay for dinner. Wide selection of wines, they also have champagne. The girls serving are lovely and kind. Highly recommended. If you go, I recommend the hazelnut cake (pictured), it's really good! I recommend calling to reserve a table, as they only have a few tables and it fills up quickly.

Both the staff and the owner are very kind, answering any questions in a professional and friendly manner. After you've sat down, you'll be given a list, and after choosing, you'll be invited to the counter where the owner will be waiting to explain the meat you've chosen, show it to you, and perhaps even offer some advice. I find all this very transparent and pleasant! We tried a tartare with parmesan shavings, egg yolk, and caramelized onion (EXCELLENT). The "bagase" with lard and raw ham on top (FANTASTIC). A tagliata with a side of jacket potatoes (VERY GOOD). The ribs with a side of baked potatoes. The baked potatoes are spectacular, but I personally wasn't satisfied with the ribs. I found them a bit fatty; I chewed them and the meatballs were in my mouth, making it difficult to swallow. For wine, a red Roero, which pairs perfectly with the meat. We'll definitely be back and I highly recommend it to you too!

04/01/2026: My husband and I visited La Piola Duomo recently and were unfortunately disappointed. Most of our dishes arrived cold. When we ordered the vanilla tart, we specifically asked if it was served warm; the waiter confirmed it was, yet it arrived ice cold. When we asked to have it heated, the waiter told us they simply 'couldn't do it.' To make matters worse, the host spent the entire evening drinking with other guests, which felt quite unprofessional for a restaurant of this caliber. While they did apologize and removed the cake from our bill at the end, the overall experience was a letdown.

One thing I didn't appreciate at all was that when my husband and I ordered two dishes with white truffle, the question we were asked, in exact words, was "Have they already told you the prices?" I find it completely inappropriate to ask this type of question, which can imply various intentions (unpleasant past situations with other guests, perhaps not having a Rolex on my wrist could have given reason to think I couldn't pay the bill?), but at this point, given that "the grated truffle" has prices that change constantly, wouldn't it be better to list the daily cost on the guests' table to avoid asking this direct question?

08/01/2026: I can say that your location was a wonderful discovery. The staff was knowledgeable, very courteous, attentive, and kind. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Dishes were carefully served to meet every need. Everything was perfect for us and even for our four-legged friend, who was greeted with a bowl of water from the staff. We will gladly return, and I highly recommend it for its value.

The fettuccine with porcini mushrooms and black truffle, however, didn't meet with the same enthusiastic response. Let's just say that the magical spark between the dish and my palate didn't ignite that makes you close your eyes and sigh. It's a shame, because on paper, everything was there. The prices are average and still fair considering the quality of the ingredients. There were no surprises when it came to the bill, which is a lot these days. The only caveat: the somewhat cramped layout caused a few moments of hesitation. But let's be honest, I can't expect the owner to demolish a wall to accommodate us more comfortably. In short: the potential is there, you can see it, it's peeking out here and there. Let's trust the place and come back in a few months to check the progress 👍
