17/07/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic experience at Ristorante Pizzeria El Fontego! Delicious pizza, and even though the kitchen was actually about to close, they still made three for us. That’s what I call top-notch service! Friendly staff, a beautiful location, and highly recommended.

08/06/2026: The ambiance is nice, but that's about it. The waiters are unmotivated and unfriendly. The food is extremely expensive, and there's absolutely no value for money. Our bread basket was taken away even though my husband was still eating. A 0.33l Coke Zero costs €8 – and of course, these drinks aren't listed on the menu. It's a complete rip-off, and done in a very unpleasant way.

25/05/2026: Food was fine but not worth what they are charging, a Veg soup for €20, small bottle of water z€8 and the service was average at best …. On top of that they charge a 15% service charge, much better quality food, service and value available elsewhere in Venice.

20/06/2026: How do I put 0 stars? The man and woman behind the counter were THE RUDEST PRIGS I've ever come across. They were obviously not wanting tourists and I hope they never come down under.

13/06/2026: We went there for dinner on a Saturday evening in June, just the two of us. Besides us, there were only two other guests. The waitress was unfriendly, and we didn't feel welcome. The pasta was okay, but it wasn't worth the price. The portion was too small for €18, and the quality was average. In hindsight, I regretted ordering a second course. Considering the restaurant's somewhat remote location, the owners made very little effort to attend to their guests. This will be the first and only time we eat there.

02/05/2026: Hotel Ristorante Giardinetto After searching for several restaurants and finding them all full, we were actually on our way to a restaurant where we had eaten the previous day when we saw the Hotel Ristorante Giardinetto and decided to give it a try. We received a warm welcome and excellent service throughout our stay. My spaghetti was delicious, and the panna cotta was also very tasty. However, my husband's fritto misto wasn't particularly impressive, and the ice cream had a rather artificial taste. The espresso, on the other hand, was excellent! Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn't clean: there was paper on the floor and no paper towels, which somewhat detracted from the experience.

06/01/2026: We had a reservation at this restaurant for New Year's Eve. However, upon arrival, we were not shown to our reserved table; instead, we were given a random, available table without regard for our reservation. When ordering, we were informed that a minimum of two dishes per person was mandatory. We accepted this and then began to wait. After 60 minutes, only an appetizer plate was served. After a total of 90 minutes of waiting, and despite several requests, our food still hadn't arrived, even though we had only ordered spaghetti. The restaurant wasn't even particularly busy at the time, so this long wait is completely incomprehensible to us. The service staff also seemed unprofessional, consistently avoiding eye contact and barely responding to our inquiries. Finally, we realized that our plans would be completely disrupted by the long wait. We informed them that we would leave if the food didn't arrive within two minutes. Since nothing was served, we got up and left. Finally, we realized that our plans would be completely disrupted by the long wait. When it became clear that we were actually going to leave the restaurant, the staff became very pushy and at times aggressive, which we found extremely unpleasant. In the end, they wanted us to pay €61 for just a glass of wine. To end the situation quickly, we paid; however, we received neither a comprehensible explanation nor a discount. After this experience, I now understand why the Google reviews are so low. Unfortunately, I shouldn't have ignored them.

31/12/2025: The food is really not good, frozen and undercooked. We were very disappointed with the New Year's Day meal, which included inedible shellfish. The service is very slow, forcing you to order at least two courses to be served (the restaurant wasn't very full...). In short! If you're a traditionalist, don't go; you'll be disappointed by what I consider to be the best Italian cuisine 🫣 (which I absolutely love). Summary: 🤮

18/05/2026: I visited the restaurant in May 2025 and I really loved the atmosphere. The view over the water was absolutely amazing and created a very relaxing experience. I had a pizza along with a glass of wine, and everything was delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful place to spend the afternoon and I would definitely recommend it.

18/07/2026: Not recommended! The food is bad, and the staff completely cleared the table (including the tablecloth) after we finished eating, even though we were still sitting there and had finished our drinks. Uncomfortable and the food was bad.

15/07/2026: Absolutely disappointing – probably the worst restaurant I have ever visited. The service was extremely unpleasant. The lady (likely the owner) behaved as if we were bothering her just by being there. Any interaction felt unwelcome. The biggest shock was the food. The pizza was terrible – paper-thin dough, soggy in the middle, completely tasteless. The mozzarella was basically nonexistent, just some melted mess, and there were maybe two overbaked basil leaves – definitely not fresh. Honestly, even a child could make a better pizza. The prices are completely unreasonable for what you get. In fact, there is no quality here at all. Everything feels careless and poorly done. Another low point: we hadn’t even finished our drinks and they already started clearing the table. Charging 3 euros for couvert with this level of service is absurd. The worst moment was when the waiter literally pulled the tablecloth under our hands at 21:15. Still a lot of time till closing. Definitely do not recommend.
