25/08/2025: During the three-day Cacciucco Pride, we had lunch at Il Sottomarino Restaurant... where you can eat the best cacciucco in Livorno... 1.5 kg of pure, mouth-watering goodness!!! The restaurant is welcoming, with nautical-themed decor and fast service. We'll definitely be back!

24/08/2025: I passed through Livorno and, after asking around, I was recommended its excellent caciucco. The place is a bit dated and could use a refresh, but the caciucco is truly exceptional.

21/08/2025: Long wait from ordering to the dishes arriving. The raw fish dish was very disappointing; the oyster and scampi were flavorless, and the scampi were not peeled. €35 for a very meager dish. Good pizza. Courteous staff. The hand dryer in the bathroom doesn't work, and there was no paper towel. High final bill. Awful asking for a tip at the cashier while paying. **Update after 3 days** They invited me to respond on Facebook to find out what went wrong. I left a polite and constructive response. They decided, being clearly mistaken on many fronts, to first delete my comment, then block me to prevent the review I left on social media from being seen. They only leave positive ones to attract those who haven't been there before. I hope this review on Google will help future customers make a wise choice about where to go. ***REPLY TO THE CAPTAIN*** Good morning, I'm not being mean in any way. I expressed a polite, respectful, and constructive opinion on Facebook after visiting your restaurant. You're incapable of accepting a less-than-positive review, but that's your problem, not mine. I definitely wasn't just talking about the price; I specifically said that the quality wasn't bad, while the presentation of the food was, unfortunately, poorly done. I also spoke well of the dining room staff, for they were kind, unlike you, who writes insults and puts words in my mouth that I've never said, since I haven't called anyone a scammer or a thief. You're talking about pockets, mine in this case... but I'll tell you, without offense, that I chose your restaurant to take my child to a less formal place, therefore a bit "lowbrow," as they say. She shot herself in the foot by thinking she was being clever by deleting a comment—I repeat, polite and constructive—without offending anyone, as she did. 30/06/2025: Spent a lovely evening in this small, welcoming restaurant that offers high-quality and very original dishes, one for all the delicious revisited cacciucco, so different from the original that it deserves its own name. Excellent and attentive service.

07/08/2025: Non c'è molto da dire, l'esperienza del sig Paolo garantisce che la pizza, qui, sia un'opera d'arte. Gli ingredienti sono rigorosamente selezionati e ben combinati. La varietà dei condimenti è talmente varia e di qualità così sopraffina che anche i palati più all'esigenti saranno soddisfatti. Personalmente apprezzo più la pizza che la cucina, ma suppongo siano gusti. Il servizio di sala è attento, preciso e il personale è molto gentile garantendo un'atmosfera rilassata e familiare. Ci siamo stati diverse volte e ci torneremo (speriamo) altre volte.

05/08/2025: Unfortunately, nothing special. The food was okay for the price, but not enough. It's not a very nice city; you sit in the pedestrian zone, but it's not really worth it. The staff were inattentive.

14/08/2025: A simple and perhaps slightly dated restaurant, suitable for those who care about substance. I found the seafood appetizer, the spaghetti allo scoglio, the tuna steak, and the house desserts excellent. In addition to the cuisine, the service was impeccable, so much so that we complimented the manager. The quality/price ratio is amazing. Highly recommended!

29/07/2025: What can I say!!... nothing because you're so busy enjoying the mixed fried fish, cod, vegetables, etc. that you don't have time to open your mouth except to enjoy the "bomba" fried food... ...and the background music is always exceptional for my tastes... top!! In all... PS: it's better if you book because otherwise you risk being left empty-handed because the guys don't "have hands to make leftovers" as they say in Livorno 😉😂😂😂

05/08/2025: A restaurant right on the seafront in beautiful Marciano Marina. Indoor and outdoor seating. The food is good, ranging from fish to meat, and even pizzas, which I'll definitely try next. What makes the difference, in my opinion, is the courtesy, kindness, and attentiveness of the customer service from start to finish.

10/07/2025: We arrived for lunch at 12:30. Tables empty, yet we were denied that we needed a reservation. I got the feeling from the service that tourists were not welcome.

Thank you for taking such good care of us yesterday evening, 30.7.25. Elba island will always remind me of your fantastic cooking and hospitality.

02/08/2025: Very attentive customer service; a celiac person was treated professionally and attentively. The dishes arrived in a reasonable amount of time, the presentation was refined, the combinations were just right, and the flavors didn't cancel out, but were perfectly distinct (obviously, that's my impression). High price? I wouldn't say it's all fish-based. And quality is something you pay for, not something you get free.

30/07/2025: Great location and beautiful decor. The pasta was excellent. There was only one vegetarian dish, which was very disappointing. The main course was extremely complicated. Grilled fish with a garnish of prawns. A few vegetables, very specifically arranged, were disappointing in taste. The cream was also underwhelming. Even the bathrooms were disappointing. The smell was unpleasant, the hairdryer was not clean, and the hand dryer was inadequate. The location and the prices set high expectations. But the dishes are very complicated and underwhelming.

30/07/2025: We fell in love with the Villa from the first moment, despite our first visit being on a rainy autumn day. The outdoor spaces are simply stunning, sloping down to the sea, with the terrace closest to the water featuring a transparent railing, perfect for photos. Elisabetta and Luca, who handled the wedding planning, are kind and helpful, always available, and offer a wealth of advice, always taking into account the bride and groom's tastes. We dined in the indoor dining room, which features elegant and refined frescoes on the walls. The food was superb and was enjoyed by everyone. The portions were generous. The staff on the night of our wedding were highly knowledgeable, welcoming, and organized. The food was perfectly catered for those with intolerances and allergies. Villa Margherita is also truly the only venue in the area that offered us the option of continuing the party after midnight, when music can no longer be played in the outdoor areas, offering a silent disco. The various dinner events were well organized and spread across the various areas of the Villa, ensuring a great flow. They offer numerous extras, catering to all tastes. We chose to stay at the Villa for our wedding night, and I can't say enough about the room: spacious, spotlessly clean, and with an exceptional sea and pool view. The hotel staff was also very kind to us the next day. We would choose Villa Margherita a thousand times over for our wedding.

05/08/2025: We stopped here on the way to the port of Civitavecchia. Everything was very good and the dishes were presented beautifully. Perhaps a little pricey, but that's normal for a coastal restaurant. The atmosphere was very peaceful since we were alone, I suppose because it was almost closing time.
