08/01/2026: I've been to Amaro several times, but on New Year's Eve they outdid themselves. The seafood menu is spectacular, with many courses and a never-failing wine to match. The owners are incredibly kind. The waiters are helpful, precise, and always available, especially Greta. I highly recommend it to everyone.

07/01/2026: Elegant venue, welcoming service, no objections to the sharing of dishes. A couple of welcome entrees (pappa al pomodoro and patanegra crostini), excellent appetizers, two rich and balanced fish-based first courses, an excellent Florentine steak, perhaps a bit too rare, and homemade giardiniera. Desserts were top-notch, though a word of caution about the cream puffs, which—for us Campanians—were not up to par. The house Chianti was a must. The bill was fair. If you come to Viareggio, go there.

11/01/2026: A terrible experience, absolutely avoidable. After booking, we were forced to wait over three hours before being able to eat, with no explanation or apology from the staff. A completely unjustifiable wait. When the food finally arrived, the situation worsened: the dishes were of poor quality, cold, and poorly prepared. To make matters worse, we found hair in the food, a serious and unacceptable issue from any hygiene standpoint. No customer service, no professionalism, and a total lack of respect. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant.

06/01/2026: We visited the restaurant on the recommendation of locals and were not disappointed. The seafood risotto and rabbit tagliatelle were excellent. The service was also top-notch. You could tell that the food was cooked and prepared with love. We'll be back.

03/01/2026: Excellent venue, the rooms are spacious and very clean with impeccable service. The staff is courteous and efficient. We were there for New Year's Eve and also enjoyed the New Year's Eve dinner: both the food and the service were excellent. I had also eaten there on another occasion, à la carte, and I had a great time. I was truly satisfied. I highly recommend this venue.

02/01/2026: Well-run hotel, friendly and helpful. We spent New Year's Eve with other couples of friends. I am reluctant to write an unsatisfactory review, only 3 stars, because on the afternoon of the 31st, when we arrived in the room, it was 13 degrees Celsius, even though we had booked two weeks in advance and were therefore aware of our arrival. I think and believe it is unacceptable to provide a room with 13 degrees Celsius on December 31st, especially when several staff members informed us of the discomfort of the premium room, blaming the exposure of the external walls. The minibar was included in the service, but not in the room, and the bathroom drain did not work. However, we appreciated the willingness to remedy the situation by changing the room, which we did not accept simply because the room available was very small and smelled of sewage and musty air. That said, I believe it is essential to offer excellent service, since the final price did not undergo any change, despite the booking having been made two weeks in advance. The final sore point was the dinner menu on the 31st, which unfortunately was disappointing.

05/01/2026: January 4, 2026, for a family lunch (3 people), booked a week in advance on the recommendation of friends because the restaurant is very popular. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. The service was excellent, never better. The food was excellent in terms of quality, execution, and presentation. Innovation and research are present, balancing the flavors of each dish. We ordered 1 tagliolini with shrimp and truffle, 1 seafood risotto with razor clams and raw oysters, 1 risotto with squid ink, 1 spaghetti allo scoglio, 1 deconstructed fried fish, and 1 cacciucco (fish soup). The price, including 3 bottles of water and a cover charge, was €156.00, truly well spent for the diverse flavors and tasty combinations. For example, I would highlight the cacciucco, which has no fish bones, no tomato, and is oven-baked; the deconstructed fried fish presented in individual containers for the 4 types of fish, and the French fries. As a welcome gift, we were offered a small appetizer and bread with a container of salted butter. After each dish, we mopped up the plate with our plates, thanks to the delicious flavors. Kudos also for the truly comfortable chairs. An experience we'll repeat as soon as possible.

In particular, the young man serving our table truly lived up to the expectations of the venue: kind, knowledgeable, attentive to every need, and capable of making us feel cared for without ever being intrusive. A true guarantee. The cuisine is excellent, sublime in fact. Each dish is prepared with quality ingredients and impeccable care. The flavors are balanced, intense, and perfectly crafted, making it one of those culinary experiences that will remain etched in your memory. A team of true professionals, both in the dining room and in the kitchen, capable of offering a complete experience from every perspective. The prices are excellent, especially considering the high level of service and quality offered. A truly unbeatable value. Highly recommended for those looking for a place where everything works perfectly. I will definitely be back.

14/11/2025: The most beautiful place in the world, where you feel at home. Located on a panoramic hill just a minute from the center of Capezzano Pianore, in summer you can fully enjoy the garden surrounded by nature. The food and service are top-notch, and the owner makes you feel at home. There's nothing better in the area.

30/10/2025: I was able to use the catering service at La Lanterna restaurant, all managed by Mrs. Regina, who had proposed herself as a highly prestigious wedding planner. The couple had their rehearsal dinner, which went very well, everything had been decided, or at least we thought so. We arrive at the location where the event was supposed to take place, and find the aperitif in full sun, bowls with melted ice, a few appetizers and a few non-alcoholic appetizers, appetizers served on small plates standing up, some a lot, some nothing, we enter the room, where I must say it was incredibly hot, 33 degrees, we sit at the table, we are served water with an eyedropper by rude and listless waiters, I must say that there was no maître d' to manage everything, it is time for the first courses, very good, but one guest does not like it and asks a waiter for a plate of pasta with oil, he is rudely refused, alleging that the chef refuses to serve this dish at the table, we get to the fish that was supposed to be a sea bream, we were presented with a strange fish, after much insistence, we received the answer it was turbot, all this without informing anyone, I would like to point out that Sea bream and turbot are two different types of fish, so if someone was allergic, it could have been a serious problem. There was a staff member who had to entertain children and adults, and their food was very limited and very late. After lunch, a corner was set up for the liqueurs I had purchased, high-quality liqueurs, placed in the sun, therefore very hot. After insisting, they brought ice, but the chocolate brought for tasting was all melted. When it was time for dessert, the dessert buffet was brought out, also in the sun, and they all melted. Luckily, the cake went well, even though it wasn't given to the staff. Furthermore, coffee and sparkling wine weren't served, clarifying that this hadn't been agreed upon with the bride and groom. Do you think this is possible? Even if it wasn't agreed upon, it's obvious! So my advice: don't hire catering, venues, and other nonsense; for a certain amount of money, hire a nice, classy restaurant and you'll certainly enjoy yourself more.

02/01/2026: The food is good but VERY expensive for the type of food and the quantity. We spent 160€ total for 4. Only fix menu: the cheapest was 30€ each which included 1 small appetizer, 1 small entrée, 1 desert and coffee. Wine and water are extra. They charged 10€ for portion of penne pasta with olive oil for a kid. Service was average. UPDATE After receiving a “like” on my review, which suggests that other clients share similar feelings, I feel compelled to update it. After reading your reply, I am also compelled to remove additional stars. I expressed a personal opinion about pricing and service, which I am fully entitled to do as a customer. Your response, however, was unnecessarily aggressive, condescending, and disrespectful — not only toward me, but, judging from other replies, toward other clients as well. For someone who presents themselves as promoting good food, good times, and hospitality, your tone communicates something very different. And to be clear: we were not “friends.” I was a paying customer. In that moment, you were providing a service — nothing more, nothing less. Courtesy and professionalism should apply regardless of whether a client agrees with you or not. Criticism can be discussed; rudeness cannot be justified.

19/10/2025: Honestly great! It's definitely worth crossing the river! It's peaceful and the food is authentic! The staff is super friendly, we were alone and it's weird after the crowds at the tower.
