03/10/2025: This restaurant in the hills behind Pietrasanta is an oasis of tranquility. When the weather permits, you can dine in the tastefully decorated and fenced outdoor area in front of the restaurant, which creates a relaxed and romantic atmosphere in the evenings. You can choose between a fish and a meat menu. Among the various dishes, generally good in my experience (I've been there four times), Bruno's lasagnette, served with peeled seafood, deserves a special mention. It's a truly tasty and delicate dish, worth the trip, as a famous guide would say. Another highlight is that all the desserts are homemade. The service is friendly, especially the owner, who is very hospitable, but also attentive to any needs and professional. The wine list is also extensive, and I appreciate the fact that there are even half bottles of good quality available, since my partner doesn't drink wine.

28/09/2025: The place is very beautiful and well-kept. The service is attentive, professional, and the timing is more than right. As for the food, unfortunately, after an excellent start, the quality gradually declined. The entrees, with homemade breads, butter, and three truly interesting tastings, were very welcome. The three standard dishes had two main problems: - the small portions. We left hungry despite having three courses plus a dessert, in addition to the initial freebies. The main course had no side dish (a potato slice). The appetizer was half a Portobello mushroom, with the stem removed. Too small. We also noticed unintentional portion differences (especially for the first course and dessert) between different diners. - the courses (first and second courses) arrived cold. The dish was cold, the sauce poured over it was barely warm, which meant that after two bites the dish was objectively cold. Too bad. We had high expectations, but unfortunately, it was a decline. We'll try it again.

09/09/2025: I visited Pontedera during my vacation to Italy and hotel receptionists recommended this restaurant. I had the best experience of the trip. The food was amazing. People were very friendly and welcoming.

It's all very good, but there's NO way to fight mosquitoes other than spraying water and mosquito repellent at face level, without asking anyone, with the substance getting in your mouth and on your food. Fight them in other ways, but not like this.

We ate really well, the service was attentive and punctual, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. I almost forgot.... 02/11/2025: We went to Fornello for the second time, accompanied by a couple of friends. The dinner was good, but I have to make a point: three of us chose the tagliolini with butter and white truffle. Typically, the truffle is cut at the table because it enhances the flavor of the truffle, and the weight per portion should be between 5 and 10 grams. In our case, however, the tagliolini were served directly from the kitchen with the truffle already on top, a minimal amount that left more room for the flavor of the butter. What a shame.

The freshest fish, cooked to perfection, and the service was truly impeccable.
