28/09/2025: We just had a unique weekend! As soon as we arrived on Vulcano, we rented the legendary Mehari from Paolo and immediately headed to our peaceful oasis on Vulcano Piano! Maria Tindara is the most authentic place you can find on Vulcano! It's outside the port, true, but it's perfectly located halfway between Gelso and the port! The dinner was spectacular, an explosion of flavors! Save room for the desserts because they are incredible and definitely made with love! Gilberto was attentive to our every need, even recommending a truly unique spot with a breathtaking view of the islands and the crater rim to your left—a spot that rivals the climb up the crater the day before, and definitely less tiring! The rooms are simple and authentic, and in the evening you're only accompanied by the chirping of the cicadas! We'll always come back!

30/08/2025: Excellent restaurant! In Macari, a very quiet village near San Vito lo Capo, we found a place to eat well with a breathtaking view! The busiate Azzurra Makari were delicious! We'll be back!

30/08/2025: We visited Azzura two years ago and it was an amazing experience. The view was astonishing, the food delicious, and the staff very friendly. We were so happy that we went back once more during the same stay. It fully met our expectations, and we even had the chance to congratulate and thank the Chef! 09/09/2025: Exceptional in every way, the food and the staff. Prices are reasonable.

08/09/2025: We went for dinner with my family. The restaurant is located along the road parallel to Viale Regione Siciliana (parking is difficult). Once we showed up, we waited about half an hour for a table. The restaurant is well-maintained and nicely decorated. Menu: Pizza is a must-have, and there's an excellent selection of first and second courses, plus the daily starters posted on the wall. I personally had Mezze maniche with Ricci shrimp and squid ink cream as a base, a well-executed dish. The overall experience was positive, from the service to the bill. On a negative note, the space isn't very large, and it's difficult to communicate with other diners. Another serious negative, in my opinion, is the excessive use of cream on the fish dishes (I'm not referring to the salmon pasta).

05/10/2025: A staff that is up to any situation, Gianni and the trusty Francesco in the dining room give you the best advice on what to choose. The queen of the kitchen is Debora, she never makes a mistake with a dish. You eat like at grandma's house.

02/10/2025: Excellent quality, traditional Trapani cuisine at very reasonable prices. Very welcoming and charming atmosphere. Busiate alle sarde (sandwich pasta) is truly delicious! We discovered this place by chance while spending some time in the port of Trapani, and we've been back for years! Highly recommended!

30/09/2025: Located in the historic heart of Taormina, this restaurant with a beautiful terrace of good size on the street, offers Italian cuisine with seafood and fish, it is also possible to eat pizzas, the welcome is friendly and the staff charming, a guitarist animated the evening with songs accompanied by his guitar, it was very pleasant, the dishes are excellent and the bill correct if we take into account the geographical location of the restaurant, it is easily accessible in wheelchair but impossible to park in this area, I recommend for a pleasant evening.

29/09/2025: Extremely underwhelming, rude manager- could not be bothered at all. Entire staff was arguing with each other- in addition also asked to pay in cash, when we insisted on card only, manager was extremely rude. Tourists need to avoid! Plenty of other great spots here.

01/10/2025: A truly positive experience. A very cute place with a spectacular wine selection. And most importantly, it wasn't touristy!!! Excellent, plentiful food at very fair prices. The raw ham and appetizer selection were excellent. The owner and staff were kind and helpful, even joking around with our 6-year-old daughter. What can I say? See you next time in Catania!

07/09/2025: A beautiful location with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent service. Although I didn't eat there and ordered takeout pizzas, I appreciated the friendliness and transparency of the staff. They were quick to notify me that they had some issues with the oven, which were resolved almost immediately. I thoroughly enjoyed my Paolone pizza, which was truly a surprise for the palate. It's a shame the cooking was compromised by the oven issues, but despite that, it received top marks. I hope to return and eat there so I can enjoy its elegant and relaxed atmosphere for longer.

28/08/2025: Very disappointed with this restaurant: We wanted to order seafood pasta with squid ink, but they were out of squid ink. So they made us the dish without squid ink (at the same price, of course), and the dish arrived: 3 mussels, 2 cockles, and 3 tiny shrimp! Absurd... (18 or 19 euros per plate). What's more, there were 5 of us at the table, and we all had to order the same pasta because otherwise we wouldn't be able to eat together! 🤔 And finally, when the bill came, a "tax" of 2.5 euros per place was added! (We had been on the island for a week, and we hadn't yet been charged this tax). All in all, a very disappointing restaurant for us.

07/09/2025: I had a very pleasant experience at Ummara restaurant, which is definitely worth a visit for anyone passing through Scicli. The outdoor location offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, yet is dimly lit, making it perfect for romantic evenings. The service was professional and attentive, although the pace could be improved during busy periods. The food, overall, was good. The anchovy crostoni were a pleasant surprise, as was the freshly baked bread with butter and cream, which added a unique touch to the dining experience. The quality of the ingredients is evident and showcased beautifully in every dish. The dishes, though sometimes simple, are prepared with great care, and the variety on the menu caters to different tastes and preferences. Dishes like the octopus ragù and spaghetti with amberjack ragù were truly well-prepared, rich in flavor, and very fresh. The wine selection was another highlight, with a good selection that included delicious local options like the SP68 Bianco Arianna, which proved to be an excellent accompaniment to the meal. Although the price may seem high to some, considering the quality and atmosphere of the restaurant, I find the experience well-justified. Ummara is a restaurant that offers a good combination of quality, service, and ambiance, and I highly recommend trying it for a pleasant and relaxing dinner.

11/10/2025: It’s a close 4. We did enjoy our evening here and most reviews are close to the truth. It’s not spectacular but it’s far from the bad reviews that drag it down. The service was really good, being from Canada our Sicilian (Italian) is non-existent at best so from the moment we arrived we were greeted in English, it’s a little thing but makes a difference. The carafe of red was exactly as I expected and since I only drink red wine in Italy (sue me) I loved it! The bruschetta was fine, nothing to rave about and the same about the scampi pasta. But the fresh sea bass with potatoes and grilled veg was excellent. We were there second week of October so it was quieter but the terrace was still fairly busy. We enjoyed it but it didn’t stand out as a return trip.
