07/01/2026: Excellent restaurant: delicious food and a spectacular location, with a breathtaking view of all of Taormina and Mount Etna right across the street. During the summer, a splendid upstairs terrace is also available. Highly recommended, especially for the kindness of the staff. We chose a raw fish appetizer to share, two first courses (a risotto and tagliolini), and, to finish, a dessert. Everything was delicious, and we had a truly wonderful time. Thank you, Alfio!

03/01/2026: Expectations are inevitably high in a restaurant of this caliber. And it must be said right away: they weren't disappointed, even if there was a slight sense of "it could have been better." The setting is refined, elegant but not stuffy, with a warm, well-lit dining room and a nighttime view that pleasantly complements the dinner. The service is one of the strong points: extremely kind, attentive, never intrusive, and capable of making you feel welcomed from start to finish. The fried seafood is well-executed, using quality ingredients, dry and light. However, for a €25 dish, the portion is objectively modest: two people can eat, yes, but with the feeling that something is missing. More than the quality, here it's the quantity that doesn't live up to the asking price. The risotto with shrimp tails and cheese is perfect, balanced, and well-creamed. Good, without a doubt. But at this level—and especially at €25—you expect that wow factor, that bite that lingers in your memory. In this case, it doesn't explode; it remains a good dish without becoming memorable. The real surprise was the soup: intense, deep, enveloping: truly, very good, one of those dishes that justify the cuisine and leave a lasting impression. Overall, a good experience, pleasant and refined, with room to become excellent. A restaurant that has everything to convince, but which could be more daring with some dishes to fully justify the bill.

19/03/2026: We stumbled upon this place by chance and were thrilled with the refined food showcasing Sicilian flavors. The kindness and friendliness of Ornella, Gaia, and Sofia were the icing on the cake. We'll definitely be back.

01/03/2026: I ordered a medium steak, but it came rare and rubbery. They tried to cook it more, but it only got worse. The English translation of the menu item is also incorrect. They were willing to make custom pasta for my son, which I appreciated. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The waitress seemed rushed and was sometimes rude, clearing our plates without asking if we were finished. She also didn’t seem pleased that we weren’t happy with the food. Follow-up: The restaurant mentioned that the owner attended our table. That is technically true — for about 15 seconds to confirm the order. The actual service (taking the order, serving, clearing plates) was handled by the waitress, who interacted with us 4–5 times and was consistently rude. No issue with the owner’s brief appearance — just clarifying the facts. If needed, I can also ask my friend to share their opinion about the steaks. I’m just not sure it would help your case.

02/11/2025: We were a group of seven and had reserved a table, which I highly recommend. The view and ambiance were fantastic, the service was attentive, and the food was delicious! The prices are comparable to German restaurants, although the great location certainly plays a role. We were very satisfied and would gladly return!

28/10/2025: We were on a sailing holiday and arrived in Salina marina for the night. We chose this restaurant because it was small but busy. We now know why it was busy even for off season. The food was fabulous. The yellowtail was especially good. Although a limited selection the wine was local and good. Highly recommended.

28/10/2025: A fantastic experience for simple, classic with a twist Aeolian cuisine! We had a wonderful dinner while in Salina and would highly recommend the restaurant. Chef Fillipo is a genius when it comes to taking the most humble of local ingredients and turning them into absolute delicacies. Starting with the broad bean soup with herbed ricotta and anchovies a classic Sicilian soup taken to the next level with fresh herbed ricotta and salty anchovies. We both wanted meat for so we chose the black pork sausages and the house made beef spiedini both absolutely delicious and so simple and we both had the purslane salad, foraged from the local mountains and just delicious. The salted mandarin sorbet with Lemon jam was a perfect finish. We loved everything and would highly recommended you visit.

07/09/2025: I had a very pleasant experience at Ummara restaurant, which is definitely worth a visit for anyone passing through Scicli. The outdoor location offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, yet is dimly lit, making it perfect for romantic evenings. The service was professional and attentive, although the pace could be improved during busy periods. The food, overall, was good. The anchovy crostoni were a pleasant surprise, as was the freshly baked bread with butter and cream, which added a unique touch to the dining experience. The quality of the ingredients is evident and showcased beautifully in every dish. The dishes, though sometimes simple, are prepared with great care, and the variety on the menu caters to different tastes and preferences. Dishes like the octopus ragù and spaghetti with amberjack ragù were truly well-prepared, rich in flavor, and very fresh. The wine selection was another highlight, with a good selection that included delicious local options like the SP68 Bianco Arianna, which proved to be an excellent accompaniment to the meal. Although the price may seem high to some, considering the quality and atmosphere of the restaurant, I find the experience well-justified. Ummara is a restaurant that offers a good combination of quality, service, and ambiance, and I highly recommend trying it for a pleasant and relaxing dinner.

08/03/2026: Avoid the open door. Given the cost of the pizzas, even if they are worth it. The owner could install an air conditioner in front of the door. A bit like Milan. Today it's cold here too and the drafts are worse than in the north. Next time I'll avoid that position in the corridor.

03/03/2026: Definitely the freshest fish, excellent cuisine, and very friendly staff. A wide selection of (expensive) wines, reasonable prices, but don't overdo the main courses (sorbet, coffee, liqueurs) that add to the bill.

24/02/2026: I chose That's a Moro based on the reviews... and I was right. The restaurant is original and well-finished: divided into different rooms—Sala dei Cavalieri, Sala del Barocco, and Sala dello Scirocco (which opens in the summer)—each with its own identity and atmosphere. This detail makes the experience more interesting and never boring. The food is truly excellent: well-executed dishes, clean flavors, and balanced ingredients. The management is discreet but present in the right way. I had the pleasure of speaking with Stefano, who became the owner a few days ago: I wish him a great future, because the foundations are solid. A place that combines personality, quality, and hospitality. I'll be back.

18/08/2025: A simply unforgettable dinner in the heart of Ortigia! We started with a breathtaking appetizer: a fresh, flavorful, and top-quality tuna tartare, which immediately raised the bar. Then came the fried fish: crispy, light, perfectly executed, and accompanied by a truly amazing sauce. But the real spectacle came with the first courses: the shrimp and pistachio spaghetti was an explosion of flavor with every bite—sea and land came together in an embrace that was almost touching. And then... the sea urchin carbonara. Words are insane. A dish worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status, a unique and perfectly balanced combination that deserves every possible applause. The staff? Simply exceptional. The chef deserves an award, and the chef's wife was exceptionally kind, always with a sincere and welcoming smile. We left the restaurant so satisfied that we wanted to take up residence nearby, just to return more often. An experience that goes far beyond just eating: here, you can experience a passion for cooking. Highly recommended!
