30/11/2025: Daniele, the owner of Hotel L'Approdo delle Sirene, recommended Osteria Mariano while we were in Ortigia, and it was a gem. The atmosphere had a truly rustic Sicilian feel, tucked away in a charming alley that gave it an intimate, local vibe. The maitre d’ made me feel so comfortable that, for the first time in my life, I let him choose my meal — no clue what was coming until it hit the table. He brought out pasta con alici, true to Sicilian tradition, and I absolutely loved it. Every dish was authentic and full of flavor. The litre of vino della casa rosso was delicious and a fantastic value. Overall, a great local spot and definitely worth a return visit — in fact, we went back. Saluti

The very friendly service was excellent. And the prices are also modest...

The staff provided excellent advice, helping us choose dishes that best capture the flavors of the region. The family-friendly atmosphere is an additional asset of this place.
A special thank you for the personalized attention to our children with allergies. The dishes were perfectly tailored to their needs, ensuring we all enjoyed a stress-free meal.
This is a place we will gladly return to and one we wholeheartedly recommend!

07/12/2025: We went to eat with friends; they'd recommended this place for its good food, and I have to say we had a great time. The staff was incredibly kind, even though there were only four of us, they even sat us at a larger table to make us more comfortable. The appetizers were delicious; we had panelle, arancini, and chips. The vastase potatoes and the first course: busiate (typical pasta) with Trapani pesto, swordfish, and bottarga. Be warned, the dishes are generous! 😋

25/10/2025: Abundance, quality, affordability. One of the few places in Ortigia that can truly boast the luxury of being described with these adjectives. The location certainly isn't the best, but what's the point of having a sea view if you can already taste it on your plate?

17/11/2025: Yesterday, Sunday, November 16, 2025, the Modica County Study Center held its social lunch in the welcoming rooms of the "Ornato" restaurant, located in Modica's historic center. In a warm and comfortable atmosphere, Chef Luca Ornato delighted our palates with a seafood menu, which was greatly appreciated by the diners. Special thanks also go to his wife Marisa and the kind and friendly Martina, the dining room assistant. I recommend seafood and good food lovers to try this restaurant. The President.
17/10/2025: We chose the five-course tasting menu for dinner. The dishes were all excellent and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the gnocchi with clams! The staff was courteous and attentive throughout the dinner. It was an absolutely positive experience and definitely worth repeating!

26/08/2025: Excellent restaurant for fresh seafood. Five of us dined here, having made reservations shortly beforehand. A quiet place that stands out for the quality of its products, undoubtedly superior to those in the city center, which are overcrowded with tourists in the middle of August.
We had their pasta with fresh shrimp, lime, and pistachios, which was unforgettable. For our main course, we had a beautifully cooked catch of the day, and to finish, a selection of desserts.
