03/06/2025: Unfortunately I find myself having to give a negative rating to a place where I have been coming for many years. We arrived on a holiday Monday evening, the place was half empty. We sat down at 9pm and waited a good 15-20 minutes to order. We ordered an appetizer, 3 pizzas and a pasta, asking to bring everything together but we were told that there was a bit of a wait for the pizzas. That wait lasted 50 minutes and we finished dinner at 11pm. Some customers left the place without waiting for the pizzas. What I want to say, however, as a lover of this place, is that a bad night can happen, it was clear to everyone that something didn't work. I didn't go into detail, maybe a new pizza chef or some problem with the oven can happen. The real problem, however, was the total absence of the owners. The waiters left alone to the complaints of pissed off customers. When I went to the owner to point out that one of the diners at the table had received the pasta and had dined alone, we were first blamed for having ordered without specifying to bring everything together (false, in addition to the fact that if there are 4 of us and we order 3 pizzas and a pasta I don't understand why they should be brought at different times). Then we were given a senseless reason that was normal because we had ordered 1 dish from the kitchen and 3 from the pizzeria. The serious thing is not having received a single apology from the owners, in fact the fault was somehow ours. I would advise the owner to take an example from her waiters, the only ones to apologize and I must say despite the embarrassment to show their face to the rightfully pissed off customers. People have been coming to you for many years and would have understood, it was enough to explain the situation and apologize in person and not pretend nothing happened or even blame the customer. I would point out that I am not complaining about the fact that I did not receive a discount for what happened. You also bring people from outside to try a historic place and in an instant the trust you have in a place can be erased by the indifference of the owners and the lack of kindness. Too bad.

01/03/2025: Compartí con nuestros amigos que la comida fue la mejor comida italiana que he tenido en 5 años. Empecé con el calamar relleno de bacalao ahumado. Mi pasta era un hongo fetichínico con bacalao y mejillones y un lado de radicchio a la parrilla. Terminé con un tiramisú del desierto. Mi esposa y amigos también tenían comida deliciosa. La carta de vinos y licores es estelar. El servicio y el ambiente impresionante. Pero la comida era excepcional. No recuerdo tanta atención a los detalles. El menú fue creado por alguien que entiende de comida y sabores. Estamos aquí por unas semanas. Volveremos muchas veces. Mucha alegría.

27/02/2025: Un hermoso restaurante en un edificio abovedado muy atmosférico justo en el centro de esta increíble ciudad barroca. Servicio muy profesional con una excelente bodega. Deliciosos y bien presentados platos. Nos gustó especialmente la pasta y el besugo.

17/06/2025: Very nice place in the historic center of the town along one of the streets that leads to the cathedral. Possibility of eating both inside and outside at the tables along the street. Well-kept place and very kind staff. Excellent appetizer of the house. Good value for money. Excellent materials used and refined flavors.

10/06/2025: Me apetecía un viaje a Punta Secca para ver la casa de Montalbano y tuve la tentación de probar este lugar para el almuerzo. Mi sueño de comer pescado en la orilla fue arruinado por el clima atroz que comimos en una habitación tipo bodega en su lugar. No es lo mismo pero encantador de todos modos. El personal (¿propietarios? ) no hablaba inglés, pero eso solo añadió a la autenticidad. Preciosa comida casera fresca. Tomamos una pasta de pescado y una copa de vino. Me encantaría volver cuando está soplando menos de un vendaval!

22/06/2025: We arrived at 9.20pm, ordered spaghetti with sea urchins and spaghetti with shrimp and mussels. Inattentive service, we had to ask for breadsticks and bread. We asked if there was still a long wait and they told me that there were a lot of people who had ordered the kitchen, honestly there was a table that arrived after us, the kitchen ordered and finished and left, and we were still waiting for 2 plates of pasta. Anyway they arrived after 50 minutes, I was starving. My spaghetti with mussels neither praise nor infamy, but the sea urchins were an infinite disappointment, you eat them because damn you paid €20 and you're hungry, but they had a strange taste, I must say that my partner likes sea urchins, he ate them again. He almost gets to the end, and thank God he got to the end, he sees that there is a piece of sea urchin spines!!! I point this out to the cashier, how dangerous it was, they reply saying they apologize but the quills are part of the hedgehog and they didn't put them there! Very disappointed with the experience and I'm so sorry I ate badly, paying and eating badly is the worst thing!

26/06/2025: Very nice, welcoming place...very good food...the pasta is super, the pizza very good and the fish dishes are exquisite. The service is fast...we had lunch one day and dinner another evening....I recommend the busiate pasta very good

22/04/2025: The most expensive store calamari I have ever eaten in my life. 1kg 29 euros. + 150 g of prawn salad for 12 euros. That's 41 euros. In the squid, during cooking, I discovered an unpleasant bonus: sand. These are scammers. They see a tourist and cheat all the way. Don't go to them. Buy better in store. Without sand and 4 times cheaper.

20/04/2025: Consigliato da amici. Tavoli e sedie spartani, tutto in plastica, tovagliato di carta, ma si sa, è una pescheria e non un ristorante. Pesce sicuramente fresco ma quantità e prezzi da ristorante di fascia medio-alta. Ovviamente questo stride con l’ambiente e con il servizio, lento e non particolarmente gentile. Le portate nulla di particolare. Insomma, a parte il pesce fresco (ci mancherebbe che non lo fosse in una pescheria) è un posto che, a mio avviso, potrebbe benissimo restare pescheria; la trasformazione in un ristorante richiede preparazione, competenza e adeguamento della location. Ovviamente non ci tornerò e non lo consiglierò

28/06/2025: The food sucks and they don't make pizza, the service is really awful and the environment is a view of the bathroom and a smell of poop comes that mixes with the food that makes everything disgusting. Really disgusting and then they give us the menus and take it away right away. I found a dirty tooth in my hamburger. Disgusting absolutely disgusting

06/06/2025: Very good, I recommend the house wine, excellent in my opinion, and the coppi (especially the octopus one and the red riding hood one), both cooked very well and very tasty 👍.

09/06/2025: The food was good, but the service was terrible, my girlfriend got her food 10 minutes after I finished eating. No apology, no explanation. This has never happened to us anywhere else in Sicily.

26/05/2025: I waited 8 minutes before anyone spoke to me ... after 10 minutes they sat me down ... no one brought cutlery and napkins ... I had to ask for them later when the food arrived at the table ... the pizzas arrived very early ... and this was the only positive thing ... even if ... it was just a pizza ... no emotion, nothing at all ... below average toppings ... not very tasty ... dough not very "mature" ... in short ... it was not a nightmare ... but not a satisfying experience either ... the staff is kind but unprepared and insufficient ... that is, the service is almost non-existent ... then the veil napkins cannot even be mentioned in a restaurant with menu items of €28 or stuff of €80 per kilo ... in short ... I went there after a lifetime of friends telling me that the food is excellent ... but I can't completely confirm ... we will never go back ... I'm sorry because I thought I would have a different experience and make a fool of myself with the person I brought ... instead ... the menu is unthinkable ... and having had to fall back on pizza ... it went even worse ... too bad ... we expected at least a decent service ... but nothing ... I didn't give zero but it's not my manners to do so ... but I really hope that this review can serve as a stimulus and a spur for future improvement ...
