22/07/2025: The restaurant looked good upon arrival: the place was attractive, lively, and the food was generally good, although the prices were high. The service was also decent… until the problem arose. We ordered a fish dish from the English menu (since we were traveling with people who didn't understand Italian), and they brought us something completely different, only the type of fish was the same. When we mentioned it, the waiter told us that the dish we had ordered was no longer on the menu. The problem wasn't just that the dish wasn't available, but that no one informed us about it and they served us another one without asking or warning. When I expressed my displeasure, the waiter simply replied, "Okay, thank you," without giving any further explanation or showing any intention of engaging in dialogue. At that point, we decided to pay and leave. When I went to pay, I saw that they were charging us €42 for a dish that we had neither ordered nor enjoyed. I asked again and was shown another menu (this time in Italian), which did list the fish we were served… but not the one we originally ordered. I thought maybe I had been mistaken, so we paid and left, albeit very unhappy. Later, when I reviewed some photos I had taken of the English menu to translate for my family, I confirmed that I hadn't been mistaken: the dish I ordered did appear on the English menu, but what they served was a completely different one. I don't know if it was a mistake, a mix-up, or a very dishonest approach, but I felt cheated. Having an outdated menu, not informing the customer of the change, and then showing a different one to justify the charge is unacceptable to me. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place and won't return. I've attached a photo of the English menu showing the fish I had ordered but wasn't served, as proof, since Italian menus are up-to-date and anyone can check this.

04/07/2025: Unfortunately, Il San Lorenzo was our worst dining experience in Rome. From the start, we felt unwelcome — the staff was overly strict about where we placed our baby stroller, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. We were seated near the kitchen in a hot, uncomfortable area, even though a cooler, air-conditioned room was available. It seems discriminating. The food was mediocre and forgettable, especially compared to the high standards we experienced in Venice and Milan. Nothing stood out in flavor or presentation. What made the experience worse was the cold, almost dismissive attitude from the staff, which left us feeling uncomfortable — at times even wondering if we were being treated differently for being Asian. Overall, between the lack of hospitality, the non-functioning AC, and the underwhelming food, we wouldn’t return. Rome has many better options.

12/08/2025: If I could give it zero stars for service tonight I would. Assigning it two stars because the food is good, and to give them the benefit of the doubt. We booked for 9pm. We were seated at 9.30pm. Took our order. So far so bad. Within 45 minutes only one person was served - my partner. We had ordered supplì and pizza for our two children and as I started to write this review, one hour later, we were still waiting. Upon asking about what happened with their order they informed us that they were out of the supplì, which we were not told about upon ordering. As I end this review, the kids’ pizzas have arrived and mine too. The food is OK, the experience has been dismal. I’ve been here a few times, and it’s always busy, but we never had an issue and this was absurd. What makes it unforgivable is that nobody even apologised. Having a ‘bad night’ can happen, you just need to level with your customers.

04/09/2025: A good-quality, well-sized set menu, highly recommended, especially for retirees, who will pay (upon reservation) just €10, including water, wine, bread, and cover charge! I won't say anything else; just try it.

03/09/2025: Today, for the first time, my husband and I had lunch at this restaurant, and we had a great time. We chose the fish menu (fresh daily). I would recommend it to everyone. Cinzia and Oscar

17/08/2025: Excellent restaurant/pizzeria. This evening we had a fish dinner: mussels, gnocchi with clams, and grilled sea bream. Everything was delicious and very fresh. The restaurant is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.

10/07/2025: This is a local restaurant located on the outskirts of Rome. The staff was amazing, and they tried their best to speak English to us and accommodate our needs. The food was delicious and at a great price.

13/07/2025: Sempre Una Garanzia . bistrot che ci ha colpito per l arredo curato nei minimi dettagli sia all interno che nel meraviglioso giardino segreto e per il Menù dove ogni volta è difficile scegliere per la molteplicità delle opzioni intriganti . Ottimo il prezzo qualità prezzo a partire dalla selezione di ostriche e crudi , per andare sui nostri piatti preferiti , fregola con frutti di mare PAZZESCA , pane burro e alici meraviglioso come le varie paste , i polipetti alla Luciana, la ZUPPA DI MARE , L ottimo ceviche e qualche piatto interessante anche per chi non mangia il pesce . La selezione dei vini è ECCEZIONALE e lo staff è sempre pronto , cordiale ed efficace anche nel consiglio . La selezione di amari a fine pasto completa un offerta veramente ben pensata . Oltre alla qualità prezzo , ci fa tornare spesso il fatto che il bistrot si trova davanti una piazza dove è meno difficile trovare parcheggio rispetto al solito per il Pigneto e l atmosfera dalla musica in sala per non parlare poi di quella del meraviglioso bagno . Insomma SANTERIA = GARANZIA alla prossima

07/09/2025: The gluten-free pizza was the best I've ever eaten, and the staff was very kind and attentive.

16/08/2025: Let's start by saying that we stumbled upon it by chance on August 15th, due to a reservation that went wrong. They asked us to wait, but within 10 minutes they gave us a table. We immediately noticed the kindness of the staff, courteous yet busy, given their busy day. The dishes were delicious; you could tell they believed in what they were doing, both in the dining room and in the kitchen. We chose fish dishes, but during service we noticed the meat dishes that will force us to return—what a hassle! I'd like to point out the eggplant caponata, which was nothing short of DEVASTATING; it should be served in an XL bowl with a spoon. They say the quality of a restaurant is measured by the quality of its baked potatoes, and here we've reached the highest levels. The desserts? Homemade, and also DEVASTATING. Well, if you want a place to eat well and find a pleasant atmosphere, I think you should come here, and we'll definitely continue to do so.

08/08/2025: A restaurant with a lakeside terrace and a warm welcome. The hostess cooks amazing dishes (exceptional baked whitefish and caponata).

12/08/2025: It's a lovely seaside restaurant with a terrace with outdoor seating and ample parking. We went there with friends. The food is excellent. The seafood appetizers are delicious, the spaghetti with clams and the baked spaghetti are excellent, and the fried fish is delicious. I recommend making a reservation. We'll be back.

31/07/2025: The location is a bit dated, but it has a lovely terrace overlooking the sea where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets and indoor parking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had delicious, creamy spaghetti with clams.

24/08/2025: A very special place... The place has its own charm and the portions seem like they're from a bygone era... Excellent products showcased by the cuisine! A great place at a fair price, we'll definitely be back.

15/08/2025: Delicious food, nothing to complain about... the only flaw is the lack of air conditioning. In the summer, you have to use the sauna while you eat because they only have a fan, which obviously doesn't cool the entire room. Generous portions, and the gnocchi with scampi cream are spectacular. The blonde waitress needs to be revisited... she always seems annoyed when you ask for something. Very nice, however, is the redhead/brunette. See you soon!

14/07/2025: Very good, high-quality food, abundant and fresh raw seafood (€35 per person) Professional and friendly staff I'm not crazy about the aesthetics of the place, but it's not ugly (I hate the white lights and chair covers). Very central location High prices (€90 per person for raw seafood, a fried dish for two, and a first course with water) It's a shame about the table number and the loud noise next to it, we barely managed to talk. I recommend it for a high-end seafood dinner.
