La Locomotiva is a restaurant that offers carefully prepared, high-quality dishes, from meat and fish to Roman pinsa. I was very impressed with the quality of the service; the waiter who served us was professional, kind, and always willing to accommodate our needs. The setting is well-maintained, and what we really appreciated was the atmosphere, which allows us to chat without the hustle and bustle that can be found in many restaurants, especially on Saturday evenings. The tables are well-spaced, and compared to a few years ago, the quality has certainly improved. It's worth noting how the chili pepper was served; small details can tell a lot. I hope to always find it this way.

Great variety, everything excellent: fish, meat, pinsa, and plenty of options for a vegetarian friend. Fausto makes you feel at home, in a refined and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.

…last night for dinner with friends we went to La Locomotiva, long sponsored by one of our friends.
The location has a lovely outdoor terrace, certainly fantastic on beautiful summer evenings. Last night the weather was a bit strange, so we enjoyed the interior: large, spacious, well-kept, and simply furnished.
I've always remembered this place being on the way to the ring road, but I'd never been there.
One of our friends had a rich fish appetizer, consisting of gratinated razor clams, grouper meatballs, seafood salad, fish moussaka, fish couscous, bruschetta with marinated anchovies, and a peppered mussel.
Everything was very good, even the peppered mussels, scented with parsley, bay leaves, rosemary, and lemon, were good, but with a very strong garlic flavor that made it unapproachable to my palate. It's a shame, but I'm not going to try it. Must.
The other appetizers, plain supplì and nduja, were good, even though the main ingredient, nduja, was M.I.A. (missing in action), the cod fillet wasn't properly thawed and the batter was rubbery on the inside and not crispy on the outside. The anchovy crostini was also good, but the cacio e pepe supplì wasn't available.
Then we had their Roman pinsas.
My pinsa 'ppino was very tasty and richly seasoned, perhaps a little too thin compared to a classic pinsa; it was halfway between a Roman and a pinsa. The edge was burnt, making it a bit bitter to eat. Presumably, it wasn't precooked, given the burnt edges, so that's a point for and a point against.
The one with the scamorza and porcini mushrooms was very good, same problem with the edge.
The rolled pancetta and sautéed chicory was also good. I would have had that too, but you couldn't sauté the chicory without garlic. Very serious, oh well.
Then the desserts, the usual lackluster ones. I had a Warm-hearted chocolate and two other semifreddos: lime, mint, and rum, pleasantly captivating.
A few small things to iron out, but an excellent choice!
See you next time!

I had lunch with my family at Locomotiva today.
I've always gone there for the pinsa, and this time we wanted to try the first courses.
What can I say? I didn't expect them all to be perfect, both in terms of quantity and quality.
The service was impeccable. Giada, a young woman who served us, was really helpful and helpful in recommending the first courses and desserts.
I'll definitely be back.

La Locomotiva is a place full of memories, with the feeling of home thanks to Fausto's great hospitality. Returning is always a great pleasure, both humanly and sensorially. The cuisine is perfect for whatever you want to eat and whatever event you want to celebrate, from a business dinner, a family dinner, to an intimate dinner with friends. We'll be back again and again! The owner and his staff are the icing on the cake! Try it and believe it.
The price range I indicated is for a dinner of pinsa, appetizer, and drinks; the pinsa has always been the best I've ever eaten, both in terms of flavor and ease of digestion. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor parking.
