30/05/2026: We had an amazing experience at Porta Nova in Tropea. The pizza was absolutely delicious—one of the best we have had in Italy. The food is truly authentic Italian, prepared with great care and high-quality ingredients. The service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and spoke excellent English, which made us feel very welcome. It is rare to find a place in Tropea that offers such tasty food at such reasonable prices. The quality-to-price ratio is exceptional. We highly recommend Porta Nova to anyone visiting Tropea and looking for authentic Italian cuisine, great pizza, and excellent service. We will definitely return on our next visit! 14/04/2026: We visited this restaurant for lunch. The owner offered us a small plate of creamed fish soup and some delicious bread. We had two appetizers, one fish and one seafood, both very rich and tasty, a fried fish dish, and a seafood first course. The fried fish was crispy and tender, the pasta al dente but lightly seasoned. We paid €70, including coffee and sorbet. Overall, a good lunch; I recommend it.

14/05/2026: Honestly, it's one of the most expensive places in the area. The fried fish was good, but we paid half the price at another nearby restaurant for similar quality. The service was excellent, no complaints there, and they even offered us a complimentary prosecco. However, I think the price is a bit too high.

08/05/2026: Good quality food, service too, prices not exactly cheap but not very expensive either, shame about the decor which definitely needs modernizing, but we were told that there is already a renovation project and it is definitely worth it.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome in a place where cleanliness and order are immediately apparent. The service was impeccable: surprisingly fast service combined with the kindness and courtesy of the waiters, who were able to offer us the best advice. The culinary experience is a journey through authentic flavors, starting with a truly excellent appetizer of typical Calabrian specialties, which prepares the palate for the true highlight: the meat platter. We began with a delicious first course of pork, including pancetta, sausage, and capicollo, before moving on to an amazing slice of beef. A much-appreciated touch was the hot griddle brought to the table, allowing those who wish to finish cooking the meat to their liking. The whole thing was washed down with an excellent house wine, perfect for enhancing the authenticity of the dishes. A must-try for those seeking true grilled specialties served with love. 10/06/2026: We had a wonderful time... so much so that we returned for two more evenings. The service was friendly and professional, with a touch of warmth that made you feel welcome. The dishes were carefully prepared and delicious, including some truly unforgettable ones like the cavatelli with mussels and beans, the tuna tartare, and the shrimp with almonds. A special mention for the fresh fig tart. Thanks to all the staff.

They offer quality wines, which are not ordinary.

Despite it being a full lunch—appetizer, first course, and second course—we felt pleasantly full but without that heavy feeling that often accompanies such rich meals. Also, given the Michelin star, I was worried I'd leave still hungry 🤣🤣🤣, but instead the portions were truly generous! 💪 Congratulations to the entire staff for the experience.

01/06/2026: Everything here was delicious. We went a total of three times. 🙂 The young waiter always knew when to show up; he was incredibly friendly. We also got some great treats, olive oil, bread, and some liqueurs and sweet snacks for our departure. My favorite spaghetti with seafood was always delicious. I'll always remember this place with nostalgia and hope to return someday.
