We found this place by chance while looking for an open restaurant. Generally in Italy, it's not easy to find a place open before a certain time. This chance encounter changed our food rankings; it's now number 1 in Italy. It's a true family business. The excellent food, wonderful presentations, and the seafood menu at the peak of flavor, along with the house wines and modest price-performance ratio, captivated us. Thank you, Chef! I highly recommend it and will definitely visit again…

A beautiful little restaurant with excellent cuisine! Very unassuming from the outside, but a wonderful atmosphere. The service was top-notch and the staff very friendly. We had two fantastic evenings there.

On a random Monday evening in March, I happened to be in the area. I was the only customer. I ordered an excellent house appetizer and a fresh pasta dish. The ingredients were top-quality and cooked with passion. I was already full after the appetizer. My regret was not having tried the dessert, but I was too full. Recommended.

The real strength, besides the excellent cuisine, is the hospitality: Peppe and his wife are the ideal hosts. They welcomed us with rare kindness and helpfulness, making us immediately feel part of the family. Managing an energetic group like ours is not for everyone, but they did it with a warmth and friendliness that made the evening special. • Cuisine: Fresh fish and carefully prepared dishes (the seafood centerpiece was a touch of class!). • Atmosphere: Refined atmosphere and genuine hospitality. • Value for money: Excellent, absolutely in line with what's offered. Zia Elvira's Ristorantino is a family-run restaurant in Reggio Calabria's Catona neighborhood, offering excellent local cuisine at affordable prices. Peppe, the owner and chef, is a wonderful person, and he and his wife, Marcella, welcomed us into their home. Tradition and history permeate the entire restaurant, even in the furnishings. But what sets it apart, and what made us choose it a second time, was the empathy and helpfulness of the hosts. Beyond the memory of a delicious dinner, they left us with the memory of wonderful people. With a group of 16 people, both adults and children, at the last minute they even provided us with all the assistance we needed to settle into a local hotel for a regenerating rest before the long journey home. When we return to Reggio Calabria, Peppe and his wife, Marcella, will certainly be our home away from home.
