03/04/2026: An excellent restaurant, starting with the owner's kindness, who managed to find us a table for dinner even though we hadn't booked, and prepared it within the promised ten minutes. The atmosphere is warm, informal, yet elegant. The dishes we tried were extraordinary: hand-rolled tagliatelle with local truffles, slow-cooked duck breast, a tasting of local oils, and cod in oil with chickpea cream and squid ink coral. The duck breast, in particular, was breathtaking for its texture, the flavor of the meat and the sauce, and the pairing with the caramelized onion. All thanks to the expert hand of chef Hanna, who meticulously manages the cooking and the quality of the ingredients. The wine list is beautiful, with unusual choices, and an excellent selection of local whites (we're in Orvieto) and reds. It's surprising it's not mentioned by the Gambero Rosso. We'll try it again as soon as possible.

22/03/2026: We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our tour group. The pasta was especially delicious, but all the other dishes were excellent as well. I think it was the best restaurant I've ever been to in my life. The restaurant's atmosphere was also wonderful, with warm, inviting wooden carvings. I would definitely like to visit again. 04/11/2025: We had lunch here on our last day in Orvieto. We had focaccia with prosciutto, stuffed rabbit with a side dish, and pavlova. The food was very good, the place was very nice, and the service was attentive. Everything was great.

17/10/2025: We booked with The Fork. Excellent welcome. An unsolicited entree kicked off the meal. We asked for a carbonara with a pasta substitution, and they accommodated us without further ado. However, I found the carbonara a bit disjointed, although good. But my 10/10 goes to the Argentine Angus steak with soy sauce reduction. A stroke of genius.

30/03/2026: I found this restaurant by chance while wandering the alleys of Orvieto, trying to avoid falling into a tourist trap. Even though it wasn't open yet (it was a few minutes before 7:00 PM), they seated us. We had a delicious meal, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it.

07/04/2026: We went there for Easter Monday with my wife and daughter. From the moment we arrived until we left, they treated us professionally. The food was delicious. We had a mixed antipasto and a tasting of the truly delicious olive oil. We had the fettuccine with wild boar, which was delicious, and the ravioli with Cintasenese beef were also excellent. The owner was very kind and attentive to our needs. I highly recommend it. The restaurant is beautiful because you eat inside a cave, immersed in history. If I ever return to Orvieto, I'll definitely stop by to eat again.

05/04/2026: Last minute, we needed a reservation to eat, before we had a scheduled ride to the airport. We'd eaten here the year before, so we knew it was good. They accommodated us, and were excellent. The food is excellent and such a welcome change after being in Rome. Different and wonderful regional food. The staff is professional and were very nice. We had to run, which is against everything we like to do at an Italian dinner, but they were understanding and helped us stay on time. Go there. Sit longer than we did this time, and It's as good as anything you'll find for local, good food.

12/04/2026: We booked a double room at Altarocca Wine Resort for what was supposed to be a special night: the last of our honeymoon. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bitter experience, marked by frustration, disappointment, and utter disappointment with the way the situation was handled. As soon as we entered the room, we realized that the so-called "double bed" was actually two single mattresses pushed together, with a visible indentation in the middle. Sleeping was uncomfortable and frustrating, far from what one would expect for a €190 a night. The most serious issue wasn't just the problem itself, but the way it was handled. After immediately reporting the situation at check-in, we were told that to get a true double mattress, we would have to book a higher room category, paying an additional €50. And, rather casually, we were told that "it was still a double bed." Frankly, an unacceptable response for a property that should and does boast such standards. The next day, upon checkout, no one even bothered to ask us how our stay had gone (and I also consider this to be in poor taste). I was the one who had to raise the issue again, only to be met with a cold and indifferent attitude, as if the issue were irrelevant. Zero customer service, zero empathy, and zero professionalism. Making everything even more unpleasant was the fact that it was the last night of our honeymoon: a moment that should have been pleasant, relaxing, and memorable, but which was instead ruined by this experience. Finally, the organization of the wine tasting also left much to be desired, which is paradoxical for a property called a wine resort: I had asked for a wine tasting upon our arrival at 5:00 PM, but we were told they would have to check the sommelier's availability at that time. In essence, we would have had to start without even having time to settle into our room. An unreasonable proposal, which we obviously declined. In conclusion, a well-presented organization that, in reality, proved to be inattentive to customers, inflexible, and unprofessional in handling issues. For the price paid and for the occasion, I expected something completely different. Absolutely not worth it.

11/04/2026: A terrible experience, bordering on embarrassing. We chose this "resort" for the last night of our honeymoon, trusting the photos on Booking. Unfortunately, the reality was quite different: the common areas were beautiful, but the rooms were unworthy. Our €190 "double suite" was old, neglected, and had a noisy heater that ran pointlessly at 25°C, which—according to the staff—couldn't be turned off. The result: a night spent sweating and sleeping terribly. The so-called double bed? Two single beds pushed together. When I asked for clarification (remember: I was on my honeymoon and almost six months pregnant), the receptionist's response was arrogant: for that price, we had to "make do," and the real double bed was an upgrade, payable separately. Surreal. The restaurant was even worse. We had reported our pregnancy and dietary restrictions in advance, but once we were seated, there was practically nothing I could eat: only raw meats, cured meats, cheeses, and meat. No alternative. I left with a flan and still hungry. Kudos to the customer service. Breakfast was in line with the rest: 13 cakes (including an out-of-place cheesecake), but you have to pay extra for scrambled eggs. Absurd. In conclusion: resort prices, service like a makeshift guesthouse. They ruined the last night of our honeymoon, treating us superficially and unprofessionally. Definitely not recommended.

28/02/2026: You probably won't find it on The Fork or TripAdvisor, but it deserves five stars for the quality of the food and the friendliness and kindness of the staff. Excellent dishes prepared directly by the owner.

10/01/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We ate well. Tagliatelle with black truffle was truly delicious. The Orvieto Chardonnay was excellent. The wild boar with polenta and the mixed boiled meats were equally excellent. The desserts, both the castagnaccio and the ricotta cake, were truly delicious. The price was in line with the quality of the ingredients. Definitely worth trying.

28/03/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at I Sette Consoli in Orvieto, and I must say it was an experience that left me with mixed feelings, but overall, very interesting. As soon as you enter, you immediately realize you're not in just any restaurant: there's an almost obsessive attention to detail. They welcome you with attention, small gestures that make you feel cared for, almost pampered. The service is elegant, knowledgeable, and never intrusive, and that's very important to me. You can sense a certain "education towards beauty," which I personally appreciate. The cuisine is definitely the highlight. The dishes are carefully crafted, with a balance between tradition and creativity that's not always easy to find. Some flavors really stuck with me, a sign of both technique and passion for the ingredients. This isn't ordinary cuisine, and perhaps it's not for everyone: you have to be willing to let yourself be guided. The wine list is also excellent, truly extensive and intelligently designed. It's clear it's not there for show, but to truly accompany your experience. That said, there are a few less exciting aspects. At times, I felt the atmosphere was a bit stiff, almost too formal. And when a place is so attentive to form, it doesn't take much to lose a hint of human warmth. Furthermore, the prices are high: partly justified by the experience, but still worth considering. In short, it's one of those restaurants worth trying at least once, especially if you're looking for something different. It's not just a dinner, it's an experience. But you have to go in with the right mindset: that of someone who wants to be surprised, without necessarily expecting simplicity.

24/03/2026: We had a wonderful lunch. The food was exquisite and the service impeccable. I highly recommend ordering the cheeses. We tried eight of them and they were all delicious, as were the jams. All the dishes were delicious (risotto, lamb, fish, etc.). I will definitely be back.

We were having problems with the internet on our phones, and when we asked for the Wi-Fi password, to our surprise, they told us they didn't have it. I consider this an essential service that they should offer to customers.

04/02/2026: This restaurant offers a good selection of pizzas, although the prices are significantly higher than average. The same goes for the meat (€8/hg), which is way too expensive. The service needs to be reviewed: on a normal weekday, they forgot to provide cutlery for a child, and they always put mozzarella on the same child's pizza when it was requested without (which was later remade).

09/07/2025: A must-try. This restaurant has been open for about 70 years and has been run by the same family for generations. The hospitality is top-notch, and the food is superbly prepared. When the lady saw we'd really enjoyed the crostini with pâté, she spontaneously brought us another portion. I call this a little treat. I personally had the Italian-style appetizer, made with delicious local ingredients, but the incredibly delicious pappardelle with hare was a cut above, and then the guinea fowl with its cooking juices you could dip your face in. Superb! To top it all off, the homemade desserts were accompanied by coffee and grappa, which she left with the entire bottle. But the incredible thing is the prices. We're talking first courses between €6 and €9 with truly sizable portions, and second courses between €9 and €15—basically, prices stuck in the '80s, with truly high-quality food, believe me. So if you're passing through Narni, pop into Trattoria Tiberina in Taizzano and you won't regret it.
