Trattoria la Grotta In Orvieto

Today, together with my parents and grandparents we had lunch in this small restaurant located in the center of Orvieto. The place is clean and I deduce it has been recently renovated, with a simple and rustic but refined style. As soon as they arrived at the table they promptly brought bread and water. We had a total of five first courses: umbrichelli (a type of typical local pasta similar to spaghetti but more homemade) alla amatriciana and umbrichelli alla cave (seasoned with pistachio and bacon). Pasta cooked just right and abundant, fresh sauces. As second courses we ordered two grilled steaks and two mixed salads. These are good too. Then we had 5 desserts (tiramisu, pannacotta and chocolate and caramel mousse) which were also very good. Finally, we ordered 4 coffees and two bitters. The service was excellent: waiters attentive, kind and fast. To underline the professionalism, friendliness and friendliness of the waiter Franco who welcomed us and served us with familiarity. The price, bearing in mind that the restaurant is located in the centre, is modest. Right quality/price.

Trattoria located in the center of Orvieto a few steps from the cathedral. Polite and kind staff. Excellent value for money! We tried the pappardelle with wild boar which was really excellent. A plate of pasta each, a side dish, a coffee around 18 euros. Really excellent for the goodness and quality of the food. Highly recommended

We went in February, excellent food but the waitress should change jobs. Already at the grumpy and opinionated welcome. Let me start by saying that we came in with two children, who were polite at the table the whole time. The lady, just for having asked her something regarding the menu that we didn't have clear, immediately replied with arrogance: "well I just told you!!!".

I went today 21-3-2024 Beautiful menu the Guinea foul was amazing and the local wine. The pork with balsamic and the rabbit. Lovely experience and I recommend. Thanks for making us welcome. Ciao.

Locale nel cuore di Orvieto a pochi passi dal Duomo. Personale accogliente, disponibile e molto gentile. Squisite le tagliatelle ai carciofi, la faraona in salmi e la tagliata . Ottima la zuppa inglese. Materie prime di qualità. Buona la carta dei vini. Servizio veloce. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Da consigliare

Buon locale, tipica trattoria, piatti semplici e buoni con rapporto prezzo/qualità nella media. Per avere due posti in più hanno sistemato un tavolo (non il nostro ovviamente) a meno di un metro dai bagni con relativo andirivieni di persone non gradevole. Personale gentile ma frenetico nel servire anche se capisco che "prima liberi" il tavolo prima si siede nuova clientela. Se vi piace mettervi il formaggio per vostro conto sui primi, scordatevelo.. non so perchè ma te lo mette il cameriere mah! (non glielo avrei certamente rubato ah ah ah). Complimenti ai condimenti, copiosi e di buona cucina.
