Capitano del Popolo In Orvieto

Unfortunately, there was constant background music. The staff seemed a bit pushy. The wine list was extensive, but the food menu was rather sparse. The menu was only accessible via QR code or website. The rabbit was very tasty. The tiramisu was served in a regular cappuccino cup, so it wasn't much, yet still cost a hefty €7. The taste was only average. We have very different memories of the tiramisu we had in Spoleto.

A quiet atmosphere, a refined restaurant, and attentive service. A varied menu featuring vegetarian and traditional options. Centrally located, reservations recommended. The Orvieto-style rabbit is delicious!

We came here from the recommendation of our Airbnb guestbook and Stanley Tucci. Services and atmosphere were good but the food was lacking. The steak was not Argentinian angus sirloin, I had to work to eat it due to gristle and silver skin. The egg dish was and pasta dish was ok. Not with the price.

We each had a first course and a second course, and everything was delicious, especially the meat-filled agnolotti with Parmesan and cinnamon fondue and the rabbit. The service was excellent, the girls were super nice and friendly, and the place was truly beautiful! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Whenever I come to Orvieto, Capitano del Popolo is a must. Beautiful atmosphere, attentive service, excellent food, and very friendly staff.

We visited the "Capitano del Popolo" bar and restaurant in Orvieto with four people, and the overall experience was very positive. We started with an appetizer of cured meats accompanied by focaccia and bread, all very good and beautifully presented. Next, we ordered two carbonaras (one with rigatoni and the other with wheels) and an amatriciana: truly excellent, flavorful, and carefully prepared dishes. The staff was kind, friendly, and helpful, contributing to the pleasant atmosphere. We had booked through The Fork and had no problems with the reservation. The bathrooms were also noteworthy: well-equipped and tidy. The only small complaint concerns the service of the first courses: two courses arrived at the same time, while the third was served about 5–7 minutes later. It's not a very long wait, but long enough for the already-served first courses to get cold. Out of politeness, we all preferred to wait for the last dish to arrive before starting, although personally I would have preferred them all to come out at the same time, even if it meant eating them slightly less hot, rather than having to choose between eating a cold dish or starting before the others. Aside from this detail, the experience was very good and the place is definitely worth a visit. Recommended!
