18/05/2026: We chose Ristorante Ferrari at the last minute, since it was already late for lunch, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is very beautiful and quaint, with a truly charming and welcoming interior. We ate very well: tasty appetizers and truly delicious spaghetti carbonara. The only negative was the meat, which was unfortunately overcooked compared to how we had requested. Otherwise, however, we were satisfied with the experience and the restaurant's atmosphere.

09/04/2026: Easter Monday lunch for two. Fast service, friendly and professional wait staff. We ordered à la carte, and everything was delicious. Honorable mention for the excellent house red wine in a carafe. Very good value for money. What can I say... 5 stars.

02/05/2026: HUH… 2 stars just for the location; the rest is questionable, to say the least. No welcome at all; in fact, you walk in and the owner (?) looks at you askance and seems to be doing you a favor. I asked if I could have a drink outside, and they replied, "What do you want?", without even showing me to the table. After the "aperitivo": a bag of chips slammed on the table along with my spritz, I sat down inside for dinner. I ordered a plate of fresh pici with wild boar ragù. Definitely the worst pici I've ever eaten, and the ragù wasn't wild boar but tasted like broth and reminded me a lot of the ragù star I used to consume in college… I didn't have the courage to order anything else. A €3 cover charge for a service that's limited to a robot bringing you your food, and you have to take it yourself... Oh, the icing on the cake, when paying, I was "offered" a liqueur—at least I thought it was offered... Conclusion: a kraut-ridden place, nothing more. If you're a kraut, go there with pleasure. If you're not, stop for a spritz and then head to Gianna's, 10 minutes down the road in Lisciano Niccone, and you'll enjoy a truly excellent meal, welcomed warmly and treated like a customer, not an intruder...

12/05/2026: During a trip to Perugia to visit the exhibition at the Accademia Nazionale Umbra, six of us had lunch at the restaurant "Il Gufo." We had booked a couple of days in advance, choosing this restaurant after finding other establishments we had initially considered fully booked. Unfortunately, despite a menu that on paper seemed to offer interesting ideas and good flexibility for the needs of those with celiac disease, the actual experience was deeply disappointing for the entire group. The restaurant itself is very characteristic, but the impression was marred by a pervasive sense of neglect; the place seemed dusty and lacked attention to cleanliness, which did not contribute to a pleasant convivial atmosphere. As for the food, the only redeeming feature was the charcuterie platter served as a sharing appetizer in the center of the table, which was of decent quality. From that point on, however, the kitchen showed serious technical shortcomings. The first courses were a real sore point: the macaroni with broad beans and pecorino cheese arrived disjointed, lacking any cohesion, and completely overcooked, while the asparagus risotto looked unappealing, with a grayish hue and no creaminess whatsoever. The second courses fared no better: the sausage meatloaf, despite having a good basic flavor, was served in truly tiny portions, consisting of just four very thin slices. The curry chicken was a logical disappointment, as well as a taste one: we expected an aromatic dish, but instead we were served an extremely dry baked chicken, accompanied by a curry sauce on the side that made the flavors completely disconnected. The only dish that passed without any particular complaints was the polenta with ham ragù, which was otherwise ordinary. In conclusion, it was a real shame: the potential of the restaurant and the menu is evident, but the execution of the dishes was so poor that all six diners were disappointed. Seeing so many positive reviews, one remains suspicious of such sloppy kitchen management, especially during Sunday service. Despite the good intentions, it's an experience we won't repeat.

24/04/2026: A trattoria right in the city center where you can eat well. The location is a bit basic but quiet. Very friendly staff. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. I found the menu to be quite varied, even though I'm celiac and vegetarian, and I really enjoyed it. Perhaps they're a little less well-equipped for vegans. It's an AIC-certified restaurant, so I was able to dine with peace of mind. Recommended.

21/05/2026: An enviable location nestled in the Umbrian hills. The restaurant serves generous, carefully prepared dishes, but above all, delicious and delicious. The room where we stayed for three nights needs updating. The shower column was coming off the wall. The shower head sprayed everywhere except the holes. We stayed during a humid weekend; after requesting the remote control for the air conditioning/heat pump, we discovered that it didn't have the HEAT function, but the FEEL function. We heated the room several times with the hairdryer. The seal on the minibar door was loose. I think if they did a little maintenance on the rooms, they would have a top-notch agriturismo. Overall, we had a good stay, as we are adaptable. They welcome our four-legged friends.

04/05/2026: Il Chicco di Grano was a discovery that won us over from the first moment. The young, dynamic, and always smiling staff have that rare ability to make you feel right at home. From the chef to the maître d', to the entire dining room team: true passion, contagious enthusiasm, and a special care in explaining each dish. The menu elegantly ranges from local specialties to seafood dishes, all carefully crafted and impeccably presented. Each course was a small experience, one that lets you savor the moment. During our three-day Umbrian motorcycle trip, we returned twice... and I think that says it all. If you're passing through Deruta, treat yourself to this.

03/06/2026: Family-run, but you're welcomed and shown to your table like in the finest restaurants. The waiters are always available and smiling (not a given)!! Thank you for the excellent food!!! I can't wait to plan another vacation in Umbria so I can visit you again!!!

30/05/2026: I think this place should be checked by the Guardia di Finanza and by some chef, perhaps one with a knack for cooking. I'll also list the reasons for our discomfort: The pasta ordered by the person at my table arrived raw!! And I repeat, raw, not al dente, and with half the sausage still frozen, which they said had truffles, but perhaps the name truffle was right on the menu. No comment on my dish other than that it was super salty, but passable. As for the drinks and the cover charge, I think it's a real rip-off. €5.10 for a large Coke, which they say is equivalent to a 350cl glass with more ice and lemon than Coke in it. Basically, if you leave, they charge for the brand itself and even the Coca-Cola company's stock price. It's truly scandalous, I don't think we'd be able to pay that much even if we were in Piazza di Spagna. I'm attaching a photo, and I'll definitely never see you again.
