03/05/2026: We stopped at this agriturismo almost on a one-night stopover for dinner, and it was a wonderful discovery! Here, kindness and quality aren't just words, but the true hosts. We dined in the restaurant-pizzeria and were literally blown away: the dishes are exceptional, meticulously presented, and clearly crafted with love and research. It's not the banal cuisine you'd expect from a agriturismo, but a high-end gastronomic experience that still retains the authenticity of the area. Special praise goes to Virginia, our waitress: she was simply fantastic! Cheerful, professional, and super attentive to every detail, she made us feel pampered from start to finish. If you're in the area, you can't miss stopping by!

09/04/2026: We went for Easter lunch: seated at 1:30 PM, finished at 5:30 PM. Yet the wait was reasonable until the first course, around 3 PM. After that, I don't know what happened, but there was an hour-long wait that was unreasonable. Maybe because there was a baptism on? Strange, considering it's a place known for hosting large events. Good food, gorgeous location. I would have preferred more for dessert...

06/05/2026: The restaurant is uniquely decorated with many antiques and a beautiful atmosphere. It's a small restaurant serving mainly seafood, using top-quality ingredients. The service was equally excellent.

10/05/2026: Very nice place, good food, and friendly staff. We ate very well, highly recommended. We ordered the menu with two starters and a grilled meat for €23, then added wine, dessert, and coffee, for a final bill of €66 for two. Aside from the price, we really liked the atmosphere. We'll be back!

30/04/2026: I went to Falisco for dinner, a warm and friendly atmosphere. Sergio was spectacular with his grills, and Sabina, what can I say, was a fantastic cook. Everything was delicious and had a traditional flavor. Excellent, I highly recommend it.

07/05/2026: On Tuesday evening, I had the pleasure of dining at "I Monaci" after a long journey from Bari to Assisi, and the experience was truly wonderful: the restaurant is meticulously designed, elegant yet welcoming, with an authentic atmosphere that evokes Umbrian tradition and the flavors of yesteryear. The menu is refined and well-thought out, showcasing typical local dishes with a refined and creative touch. Each course stands out for the quality of the ingredients, the balance of flavors, and the impeccable presentation. Truly flavorful dishes, prepared with passion and attention to detail. An added bonus is definitely the owner: extremely friendly, helpful, and capable of making every guest feel at home. The staff also deserves high praise for their friendliness, professionalism, and customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Assisi who wants an authentic gastronomic experience, combining tradition, quality, and sincere hospitality.

04/11/2025: We had lunch here on our last day in Orvieto. We had focaccia with prosciutto, stuffed rabbit with a side dish, and pavlova. The food was very good, the place was very nice, and the service was attentive. Everything was great.

17/10/2025: We booked with The Fork. Excellent welcome. An unsolicited entree kicked off the meal. We asked for a carbonara with a pasta substitution, and they accommodated us without further ado. However, I found the carbonara a bit disjointed, although good. But my 10/10 goes to the Argentine Angus steak with soy sauce reduction. A stroke of genius.

06/04/2026: Quiet and friendly atmosphere, you can taste the local specialties and the pizza is also excellent... normal prices, you can easily choose this place for both lunch and dinner.

02/05/2026: I'll never go back. I thought I'd try the typical Norcia flavors, but I was left with a fatty, acidic tomato that didn't let me taste the sausage. Only the cured meats are worth it. The service was too slow.

02/05/2026: Family-run, somewhat rustic. The wine is so-so, but the starters are good and plentiful. The truffles are excellent, but the desserts are limited.

15/04/2026: An old-fashioned tavern where time is marked by an antique grandfather clock. The owner is a jack-of-all-trades: cook, waiter, and entertainer. The menu is presented verbally. The legumes are divinely cooked, and the portions are generous when needed. The prices, in our opinion, are reasonable.

16/12/2025: Gino, the owner, cook, and often waiter, does everything himself, even the morning grocery shopping for the restaurant. Excellent, authentic, and unpretentious, typical Perugian home cooking. It's popular with locals and tourists, but it's not a tourist magnet. In summer, you can eat outside in the open-air space in front of the entrance. Recently, it's only open for lunch; for dinner, reservations are required, and probably only for groups.

17/05/2026: UPDATE: I’m updating my review after a change of heart. I at first felt I wanted to disregard my disappointment of this resort but after lack of care and accountability from the resort I thought I’d share. I’d first like to point out that the restaurant, their staff, chef, service and food were all five stars and excellent. The resort itself however lacked hospitality and any resemblance of luxury. Upon arrival we were horrified to fold over the sheets and find a smashed bug UNDER the covers. We then proceeded to check the rest of the bed in fear it was a bed bug later to realize a huge blood stain on the corner of the comforter. We immediately requested another room in a different building and were happy to be upgraded to a wellness suite although we still were weary of the cleanliness of the room and its lack of design. We had previously booked the cooking experience which was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. We left full with great food and wine and happy we experienced the resort. Until we checked out and realized that my suitcase handle had been broken with no way of collapsing it when it was working perfectly fine up until our departure when our bags were picked up from our room and taken to reception. I emailed the staff to notify them and instead was met with accusations of saying my suitcase was broken upon my arrival and complete denial of any carelessness. I am now left with having to replace my brand new $200 suitcase because my airline will not accept a suitcase that doesn’t collapse. I am deeply disappointed with the lack of professionalism that is to be expected with a luxury resort. I had thought they redeemed themselves from the bug and blood situation and even wrote them a good review (see below), until they blatantly denied and instead blamed me for my broken bag. We still enjoyed our experience but I would honestly just come for the day for the restaurant and wine and would pass on staying at the resort itself and save your money. Original review: We had a wonderful stay at Altarocca Wine Resort. The staff was incredibly friendly, responsive and accommodating. Location: The resort is about a 10 minute taxi ride from Orvieto or the train station which the resort was able to help arrange for us. The property itself is located in a beautiful and picturesque Italian countryside surrounded by vineyards and rolling landscape, perfect if you want that winery stay vibe. Food & Wine: The restaurant on property was incredible, hands down the best meal of our trip. It was fine dining with excellent service and fantastic execution with balanced yet sophisticated flavors at the right amount of complexity that was not too overwhelming. We went with the staffs recommendations as well as their recommended wine pairings and they couldn’t have done better - they nailed it! They serve both a variety of their in-house wines as well as an extensive list of other regional wines, but their in-house wines were all wonderful and we stuck with those throughout our stay. Experience: We were able to enjoy a stroll through the vineyards after breakfast and took their cooking class in the afternoon which included lunch and a wine tasting after. I highly recommend this experience as it was engaging, informational, and fun! Overall we were very pleased with our stay and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We felt prices were very reasonable for the experience and we will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family! Great views. Great food&wine. Great service

12/04/2026: We booked a double room at Altarocca Wine Resort for what was supposed to be a special night: the last of our honeymoon. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bitter experience, marked by frustration, disappointment, and utter disappointment with the way the situation was handled. As soon as we entered the room, we realized that the so-called "double bed" was actually two single mattresses pushed together, with a visible indentation in the middle. Sleeping was uncomfortable and frustrating, far from what one would expect for a €190 a night. The most serious issue wasn't just the problem itself, but the way it was handled. After immediately reporting the situation at check-in, we were told that to get a true double mattress, we would have to book a higher room category, paying an additional €50. And, rather casually, we were told that "it was still a double bed." Frankly, an unacceptable response for a property that should and does boast such standards. The next day, upon checkout, no one even bothered to ask us how our stay had gone (and I also consider this to be in poor taste). I was the one who had to raise the issue again, only to be met with a cold and indifferent attitude, as if the issue were irrelevant. Zero customer service, zero empathy, and zero professionalism. Making everything even more unpleasant was the fact that it was the last night of our honeymoon: a moment that should have been pleasant, relaxing, and memorable, but which was instead ruined by this experience. Finally, the organization of the wine tasting also left much to be desired, which is paradoxical for a property called a wine resort: I had asked for a wine tasting upon our arrival at 5:00 PM, but we were told they would have to check the sommelier's availability at that time. In essence, we would have had to start without even having time to settle into our room. An unreasonable proposal, which we obviously declined. In conclusion, a well-presented organization that, in reality, proved to be inattentive to customers, inflexible, and unprofessional in handling issues. For the price paid and for the occasion, I expected something completely different. Absolutely not worth it.

06/06/2026: Clean place, good service, pasta sauce, perfect meat main courses, cloth tablecloths, even clean napkins, and a nice aroma, quiet atmosphere despite it being the day of the children's festival and there were many of them, with their families who came in, nice place. Actually, if you pass by Gubbio and are hungry and need everything I described from my experience, it's fine. I had to correct because I ate the handmade tagliatelle in Cortona at the Le Rughe restaurant and therefore I was wrong, but this place is ok.

01/06/2026: Strolling around Gubbio, we were looking for something to eat quickly, a sandwich and off we went, and instead we found ourselves in front of the entrance to this restaurant. The owner was standing at the door, and with her sweetness and kindness, she won my wife over with her smiling and polite manner. We went in and ate divinely, choosing the tourist menu. The staff were smiling and friendly, the place was beautiful, you can also eat outside, everything was beautiful, what can I say, we will definitely be back.
