09/04/2026: I went for dinner two nights in a row because it's very rare to find a place that pays such attention to the ingredients, preparation, service, and hospitality. This family-run restaurant is a real gem. Delicious in every way.

22/10/2025: I had dinner at this restaurant, which has tables in a small square in Marciana Marina, surrounded by many plants that provide privacy. I enjoyed the dinner; I had seafood tortelli topped with a squid ink sauce, stuffed mussels, and finally a Bavarian cream. The service was good, and the staff were friendly. I would return. This year, I returned and was a little disappointed because I spent a lot and ate very little. I hope it's a coincidence, because I don't like to judge the work of others, which I know is demanding. I encourage you to give a little more; sometimes, a little goes a long way. I'll be back to try again because the food is good.

16/11/2025: If you see it, avoid it. There's no menu, only 4 items, and not all of them are available. Two first courses, a Tomino cheese, and two glasses of wine for €56. 😡 There were only 3 tables set, the place was empty.

05/03/2026: Bad, maybe a bad night... We weren't satisfied with the food. The first course was nothing special, well cooked but decidedly flavorless. The meat was bad, very bad, fatty cuts, flavorless, and overcooked. The desserts followed the same progression as the other two courses.

21/01/2026: Unique location, below street level. Very good first and second courses (the duck ragù is better than the classic Tuscan ragù). Very friendly and helpful staff. You can also visit the 1st-century BC Roman cistern, which is inside the restaurant. Average Volterra prices: we took advantage of a discount with The Fork.

10/10/2025: Sunny atmosphere, friendly and professional staff. I love the food, especially the fish. Fresh and, above all, well-cooked. The amatriciana, carbonara gricia, etc., are all missing...a real treat!

03/09/2025: Not recommended. We were at the beach today, September 3rd, and wanted to rent a parasol for the afternoon (including two sun loungers). First, there was no rate for just the afternoon (we arrived at 2 pm), and second, the "attendant" wanted a flat rate of €25 for the parasol (even though it's the off-season). In the lovely Morcone beach next door, a parasol costs €15! Then we paid with Visa, and we had brought small beach chairs for our two kids, which we weren't allowed to use. Then I wanted to cancel, and strangely enough, cancellation isn't possible when paying by credit card. In short: the worst service on the entire island, too expensive, parasols placed too close together, constantly monitored… Better to choose a different beach resort (next door) or even a different beach altogether. A huge disappointment for us, and our first and last time there.

12/04/2026: A restaurant in the heart of Chianti, located near the site of a former monastery, with breathtaking views of the Chianti and Valdarno valleys. The restaurant is simple, clean, and well-maintained. The menu is consistent with Chianti restaurants, although there are regionally inspired dishes that aren't typically Tuscan (e.g., beetroot risotto). The first courses and the estate's selection of wines were excellent, as was the friendliness of the wait staff, although we did wait—perhaps a bit too long—for the first courses. Excellent value.

29/03/2026: It was our second visit to this restaurant, with several years of interval. Whilst service was excellent, this time the food fell short. The bistecca was somewhat hard, with more fat than usual and was brought cold to the table. The veggie tart was bearily eadible. The semifreddo was also disappointing. A noisy table with children screaming all along did not help either. Overall, a negative experience, given the expectation.

28/03/2026: A beautiful and elegant venue, with a knowledgeable and professional staff. Perfect for hosting events, parties, confirmations, and graduations, thanks to excellent space and organization. Splendid in the summer, with the garden, pool, and evenings accompanied by live music that create a truly pleasant atmosphere. It's equally charming in the winter, too, welcoming and well-designed with several rooms and gazebos. We had a truly delightful evening. Highly recommended!

29/10/2025: We went to Nando's for dinner, but there was no menu available! It was just words. I highly recommend asking in advance to avoid any unpleasant surprises when the bill comes, which, I dare say, wasn't very appropriate for what we ate... especially for an osteria.

That said, the place is truly pleasant, the food is excellent, and the owner is friendly and good at his job, and if you get along with him, he'll treat you very well. Don't be fooled by negative reviews; go and eat, you won't regret it.
