05/09/2025: I'm not giving any stars for the food, service, or ambiance since I haven't been there. I'm giving one star because the place has changed management and is now called "Camurria." I'm giving one star for the prices posted outside and the rather unpleasant name.

05/08/2025: I went there with some friends to eat a pizza together for the end of the school year, I recommend it especially for the pizzas and the dessert, the prices are average, everything else is excellent

07/09/2025: Always a guarantee of quality and the beauty of its location. The woman who served us was very knowledgeable regarding the celiac disease of one of our guests. Pizzas of many varieties and with tasty and unique ingredients. Excellent value for money, with fries and beers, we paid €15 per person. One star less because some pizzas were not cooked well and because the gluten-free pizza base was not made by them.

27/08/2025: If we had listened to Google reviews, we would have passed. Fortunately, we decided to follow the much more relevant advice of the Guide du Routard, which recommended the place. And indeed, the pizzas, both the dough and the other ingredients, were excellent (be careful with the olives, however, which retain their pits). The service was very good, with sufficiently attentive waitresses. We showed up at 7 on a Wednesday at the end of August, without a reservation, and were seated right away. In short, a very good experience, in the heart of a very picturesque neighborhood of Scicli.

14/10/2025: It started well. Then it got really bad! A meal was completely forgotten, but it was added to the bill! Wouldn't recommend it!

14/10/2025: Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant. The octopus starter was good. (See picture.) We waited about 50 minutes for the main course. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm and cold. I ordered three Cokes but never got a second one that evening. As always with these restaurants... The waiters don't care because the next tourists will be there eating tomorrow...

28/09/2025: Zucchini and tuna pizza: Four slices of zucchini and perhaps the equivalent of half a can of canned tuna, a new jaw to chew on a crust that resembles a car tire, and the next morning still to digest with accompanying heartburn. I thought it had gone badly the last time I was there, but this time, it's exactly like that. What a shame, the Mamadina of old is gone, a real shame.

21/09/2025: I'm giving it one star because zero isn't possible. After booking for 10:30 PM, we waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for the first pizza and another half hour for the other three. Besides the wait, the pizzas were subpar. Finally, at checkout, a beer was added to the bill, which we didn't consume. Disappointing.

03/10/2025: Very long wait times (few customers, simple dishes, etc.). Ingredients listed on the menu aren't served. The answer is, "There are different preparation methods, we cook it differently here." Please don't write that on the menu.

30/09/2025: I don't want to just leave a review, but a huge compliment. I spent three nights in a row at this wonderful place, where not only the atmosphere enchants you. The food is divine, and the live music makes dining here a unique and fantastic experience. Above all, I'd like to leave a huge compliment for the service: I traveled alone, but thanks to the guys at La Scala, I had evenings filled with laughter and good humor. For those who stop by, try the seafood linguine and enjoy a lovely cocktail, made with love—it really shows. If I ever return to Taormina, I already know I'll be back at La Scala Restaurant. 07/08/2025: I stopped by the Plaza bar by chance for pizza, and to my surprise, it was excellent, not burnt, and had a great flavor. I was truly satisfied, and I'll be back with my wife.

09/07/2025: Questionable from a culinary perspective. Pasta was out of stock, some pizzas were unavailable. The pizzas served looked like frozen goods – no one ate more than half. Mozzarella salad came with jelly. No comment. Okay for ice cream and a drink. Better to go somewhere else for food.

17/10/2025: If you like pre-cooked pasta, this is the place for you, otherwise go elsewhere...

16/10/2025: I don't recommend it. We ordered a plate of ravioli and two focaccias. After a 20-minute wait, the four ravioli arrived with some kind of eggplant and tomato sauce. 15 minutes later, the focaccias arrived. I finished eating before the other dishes arrived. I asked for the bill, followed by another 20 minutes of waiting. I had to go to the counter to get a charge, and it turned out they didn't accept cards. I was finally able to pay by card, but they overcharged me. The service was terrible, and the food left much to be desired. Additionally, they charged me for table service when the menu doesn't mention it. We won't be returning, and I won't recommend it to my friends.

23/07/2025: Il Ristorante Sire 🍽, in zona Recanati si affaccia sulla strada e attira subito l'attenzione. Siamo tornati due volte, a pranzo abbiamo gustato degli ottimi caserecci al pistacchio 🍝 (con pasta fresca, pancetta, cipolla, panna e parmigiano): davvero saporiti e ben bilanciati nei sapori! Molto buone anche le insalatone, fresche, ricche e ben composte. A cena abbiamo optato per la pizza 🍕, per la verità deludente: impasto poco digeribile, difficile da tagliare e che, raffreddandosi, diventa stopposo. Per ora, promosso il ristorante ✅️, bocciata la pizzeria ❌️. P.S. A Giardini Naxos, trovare una pizza veramente buona si sta rivelando una vera sfida! 😅

07/10/2025: Me and my 4 sisters attended this restaurant for a birthday lunch, can I start off by saying the restaurant itself is beautiful! The decor is very unique alongside the placement of all the random vintage pieces along the wall magnificent! We ordered a few dishes and the total amount (€160) was extremely affordable we live in London so the price difference for the seafood was great! If you come definitely get the grilled sea-bream it was cooked to perfection, the mussels were very tasty so was the octopus salad! The only downside was the grilled prawns I feel they could have grilled them for longer maybe split them down the middle so they are cleaned better and included more seasonings as they were very bland. Apart from the prawns everything else was amazing the service was excellent and we was even offered lemoncello on the house. I would definitely come back when we are next in Sicily.

30/08/2025: I'll return to Catania just to be able to eat here again. It's a hidden, small restaurant with a beautiful, ornate decor and "Sicilian" service: We don't worship you, we give you service and advice if you ask. For me, it's better than having a waiter always on your heels! I ordered a Caprese salad with tomato and buffalo mozzarella, and what can I say? I wish we had this product in Spain for that salad. Not delicious, but delicious! And then I ordered spaghetti with gammon and zucchini, and that was another level! I don't understand how such a simple dish can be so absolutely wonderful. Brutal. Without a doubt one of the best trattorias I've ever tried, with a couple of glasses of house wine. Sicily on the table, you can't ask for more.

12/10/2025: From the photos it looks nice, but in reality the terrace is in a state of disrepair, the food leaves something to be desired, the prices are like those of a starred restaurant 🥲

05/10/2025: We actually wanted seafood, but the squid advertised on the menu wasn't available, so I ordered pasta with swordfish and eggplant, and my friend ordered lamb with roasted potatoes. When the food arrived after a long wait, we were greeted with the following: One plate was topped with mutton chops, with more fat than meat and lots of bones, perhaps half a diced, greasy potato, and a pinch of naked iceberg lettuce. On the sparsely filled pasta plate, slightly reddish noodles were visible. Traces of seafood could be identified, but not eggplant. My friend, who had ordered the meat, immediately went on a hunger strike at the fatty details, so we swapped plates; I'm less sensitive to food. Unsatisfied and dissatisfied, we soon left, but not before having to shell out €47. One thing I can say for sure: This was by far the worst meal I've ever had in Sicily!

11/10/2025: Maurizio was very kind and welcoming. The caponata was the best I've tasted in the Aeolian Islands, and the stuffed squid with sauce was wonderful! Thank you.

05/10/2025: For the owner alone this restaurant is worth a visit. Such a lovely and engaging man, who spoke Italian, English and German with us. The food is delicious and though on the pricier side, portion size and quality justify it. We had the best seafood noodles here. (Sadly I only have a photo of the empty shells)
