22/08/2025: In an enchanting setting, a place I have known for over 30 years, today I find it under new management, in all honesty, a relaxing evening, with friendly and discreet service, always with a smile and full availability, the owners very kind as all the staff, the food ... We ordered both fish and pizza from the restaurant, all of excellent quality, and exceptional taste, wonderful the Jack Daniel's Apple pizza, a balance of flavors and taste, the flower beds are a beautiful private entrance for couples but also for groups of four, I highly recommend it and with satisfaction.

07/08/2025: I don't think I've ever had such a bad experience at a restaurant. Let's start by saying that we weren't supposed to come to this place, but fate decided it this way, having found the restaurant we were originally supposed to go to closed. They say every obstacle is a help. That's not the case here. As soon as we arrived, they sat us down and brought us menus. From that point on, a good half hour passed before we were able to order, with the order taker coming by to take orders from tables that had arrived after us. We finally ordered, and even then, quite a while passed before the appetizer arrived (excellent bruschetta with porcini mushrooms). The only bright spot of the evening. Just before the main courses were brought, we were told that a type of pasta wasn't available. So we ordered another type. When they arrived, we couldn't believe our eyes: out of four plates of pasta, there were maybe two. Truly meager portions. The strange thing, however, was that at the other tables, the portions were more than generous. One of us had ordered a charcuterie board that was supposed to be for two people; a board arrived that was apparently barely enough for one. Amid all this, they forgot to bring a pizza. The waiter immediately apologized and had it delivered. It was already 10:30 PM. We sat down around 8:40 PM. Already somewhat disappointed, we tried to get the attention of one of the two waiters working in our area to bring us the bill. We were unsuccessful, as they were engrossed in a heated discussion about how not to let customers walk all over us. Or so I understood. When we pointed this out to the head waiter, he apologized, took the blame, and finally brought us the bill with a €5 discount. Too bad they added two more covers (€4) and charged us for the pasta, which wasn't available (€1 more than what was actually brought). Moral of the story: a fictitious discount. The icing on the cake: they brought free slices of donut to all the tables. Obviously, nothing for us. They took our last name, inviting us back to make up for it, and greeted us with a "Fozza Catania." Glad the guy was from Catania, but precisely because we're from Catania, we can't make any futtiri. 16/07/2025: We stayed one night at Torre Bennistra and we were so glad that it was only for one night. The hotel is long overdue for a renovation. The room has very old furniture and barely any amenities. The AC didn’t work well. The only good thing about the hotel was the sea view. We didn’t have breakfast so I cannot say anything about it. The hotel staff was friendly, though and it is near to all the bars and restaurants.

25/07/2025: Non era la più ricca ho provato, ma mi è piaciuto molto l"atmosfera e la posizione, in una piazza nel centro di Siracusa, vicino alla Cattedrale, e una terrazza molto bella. Hanno piatti siciliani tipici (pasta e pesce). Per dessert, ho preso il Canolo, tipico dolce siciliano quel giorno servito con pezzi di pistacchio. Ottimo!

Three of us opted for pizza, and unfortunately, we weren't entirely satisfied: the ingredients were subpar, and the pizza was dry and almost crunchy (oh, olive oil, that unknown ingredient), not even a hint of oregano or other seasoning. The staff was friendly but very, very inattentive, only the head waiter (the lady who takes orders) was attentive, and even she realized that they weren't having a great time that evening. A waiter was forced to pour water into glasses, knocking one onto the floor, and after picking it up, he disappeared without bringing a new glass or wiping the water-soaked table. Another waiter brought bread, breadsticks, and small plates, but they got the wrong table. Another waitress couldn't wait to clear away the plates and glasses without asking (the place was already half full). Overall, a negative experience, except for the location, which turned out to be beautiful.

First of all, looking at the menu, we noticed the extremely high prices, ranging from €20 to €22 for a first course. However, we ordered an off-menu dish recommended by the owner, who told us about a first course with squid ink, sea urchins, and raw shrimp. Therefore, the entire table ordered this first course. Let's look at the bill: the off-menu first course was set at €24, a price not even on the menu for similar dishes. However, the surprise was the €3 surcharge added to this first course, labeled "+ raw shrimp." I didn't check when we paid, but after we left, commenting on the high price, we realized this incorrectness, because the raw shrimp wasn't an additional request on our part. The off-menu dish was described as including the raw shrimp.

I don't expect Siculiana Marina to still offer dishes that they claim are seafood appetizers: a soggy, "seafood" arancini, three slices of almost dry smoked salmon that I'd asked for instead of the seafood salad, a swordfish roll with an indecipherable flavor, three tiny pieces of scabbardfish and onion that were completely dry, which was perhaps the most pathetic bowl on the plate, and a shrimp cocktail that was probably the only acceptable item. For the price, the quality should meet much higher expectations, especially for a restaurant that offers a selection of dishes exclusively based on seafood. I'm sorry, but the quality of the products is truly poor. This isn't a malicious review, but rather an incentive to strive for even greater success if you truly have a passion for dining. Especially since the veranda overlooking the sea is beautiful, a strength that can propel you even further. I truly hope you can improve your menu.

09/05/2025: Posto molto accogliente, proprietari simpatici e gentili, ben posizionato in centro nella bellissima Nicolosi, porta dell’Etna. Abbiamo iniziato con una zuppa di fave fresche, finocchietto selvatico e ricotta salata, accompagnata da crostini di pane! Una delizia per il palato, abbiamo ritrovato sapori e profumi di una volta! Abbiamo poi continuato con una carrellata di delizie (polpettine di verdure di campo, di ricotta, di patate, melanzane, carciofi, cavolfiore affogato, …) . Potevamo infine rinunciare al dolce? Questa sera assaggi di due torte magnifiche e profitterol , il tutto annaffiato da due liquorini (ciliegia e carrube). Ovviamente buon vino locale per accompagnare il cibo! Una serata magnifica, da ripetere!!! Lo raccomando a chi vuole rigustare i sapori buoni e genuini di una volta.
