02/04/2026: I don't usually leave reviews, but this occasion deserves it! Everything was absolutely spectacular! From the moment you walk through the door, they make you feel right at home, and if you're lucky enough to be served by Jemmat, the experience is simply sublime! Thank you so much for the wonderful service! I'll definitely be back!

28/03/2026: The I Frati Rossi restaurant was a delightful discovery. For an evening with friends, we chose an excellent seafood tasting menu. The menu started very promisingly with two appetizers: amberjack and salmon carpaccio, artichokes, and bottarga. Next up were seafood and truffle ravioli and grouper paccheri, all delicious. For the main course, a mixed fried platter of shrimp, calamari, fish, and mixed vegetables. Delicious, especially because it was so light! To finish, dessert: meringue and strawberry ice cream. We will definitely be back to try the à la carte menu.

20/03/2026: The dishes are all simple but carefully prepared, and you can't go wrong with either the seafood or the meat. It's not flashy, but as you eat, you gradually realize, "This place is a real find."

08/06/2026: A great restaurant on the outskirts of the city center, fresh and delicious food, and super friendly service. We stayed at the Smeraldo Beach Hotel, so we visited several times because it's practically across the street from the hotel. I highly recommend it! 😊

20/07/2026: A great pizzeria where you can also get other Italian dishes, and which is truly a good restaurant in every respect. For starters, we had some Sardinian cheeses and the fried squid to share. Both dishes were delicious. Our main course consisted of a pizza, some pasta, and steak. All dishes were delicious and flavorful. One of us had a delicious cheesecake for dessert, and the rest of us drank a delicious (really hot) espresso. In short, we had a wonderful meal. The price-quality ratio is balanced 👍

06/07/2026: The food was delicious, fresh, and aromatic. The fish was perfect and juicy. We gladly returned to this restaurant; it's one of the best in the area. The drinks were excellent. :-)

05/07/2026: Fantastic place, peaceful, relaxed, ideal atmosphere. Friendly, cheerful, and attentive waiters who make their work an art. The food was fabulous, especially the baked sea bass with vegetables. And you absolutely have to try the tiramisu! We'll be back!

21/07/2026: We ordered a couple of appetizers and some main courses, and most of the dishes took over an hour to arrive. To make matters worse, when one of the pasta dishes finally arrived, it was lukewarm and quite undercooked. The others weren't anything special either. We ended up eating without any appetite, and after insisting, they acknowledged the problem and didn't charge us for the dish. The waitresses were very, very friendly and attentive.

20/07/2026: We arrived for lunch and although it says nothing is closed, they tell us they have to clean to serve dinner at 6 pm, unbelievable.

07/07/2026: We are vacationing in Sardinia and chose L'Alternativa based upon the reviews. Do not hesitate to make a reservation here. The food is exceptional, serving staff and chef are very friendly and accomodating. Thus far, it was the best meal we had in Sardinia!

07/07/2026: The food was quite good. They could have removed the veins from the scampi, though. What left much to be desired, however, was the service: I don't mind being addressed informally from the start. That's common in Italy. But when the head waiter displays his disinterest through his demeanor, that's not the norm. It started with the order: while we were ordering, he leaned boredly against the wall behind him. Or, when we saw a 375ml bottle of Franciacorta Bellavista for €25.00 on the menu and wanted to order it as an aperitif, his response was curt, "We don't have any more." No alternative recommendation. Not even an attempt to sell us an aperitif. Or, when ordering our meals, my wife ordered a pizza. I then ordered an appetizer (pasta) for myself and didn't even get a chance to order my main course before the waiter was about to leave. He only reluctantly took our main course order after all. And that's despite the fact that the restaurant was fairly busy that evening, but far from full. It's a shame that such poor service put a damper on what was otherwise a lovely evening.

19/05/2026: The food was delish (memorable even!) and the service very good. We were treated to a delicious amuse-bouche to start followed by a great, and good value for $, wine recommendation. We were a group of 7 with differing dishes, and serving times and they handled it with aplomb. Beats mediocre pizza anyday of the week. Highly recommend!

27/07/2026: In fact, apart from the magnificent setting, this place is a money grab. No matter what cocktail you order, it will cost you €25 and a glass of water €10??? Really? Given the entrance fee, you can't even sit down. Keep walking, there are better things to see in Sardinia.

10/06/2026: Wow, super duper good local food with perfect service ✨

06/06/2026: We arrived relatively early, shortly before 7:30 pm, so we still had a good selection of tables for two. The service was quite quick; we received two business cards with QR codes, as well as a physical food and drink menu. Unfortunately, it was only in English and Italian. Since I speak Italian, it wasn't a problem for me to understand the menu. Unfortunately, only large bottles of water were served. The beer was served in an iced glass – a nice touch. The starter, a mixed salad for us, was prepared for two people upon request, meaning each of us received a separate plate with the salad. The main course, spaghettone con frutti di mare, was excellent, served with a small plate and a refreshing towel. Kudos! My partner's calzone was also excellent. The wines (Cannonau di Sardegna / Vermentino di Gallura) were served beautifully by the glass. The crema catalana pâté e riduzione al mirto was simply divine. I can personally highly recommend Ristorante La Sciumara. The service staff are attentive, courteous, polite, and very competent.
