13/12/2025: We were on vacation in August of this year. There was a very long wait for service and for the meal to be served, the food was very average, the portions were small, and it was veeeery expensive for all of it.

29/09/2025: Nice place, nice decor for a beach bar. The staff wasn't attentive, and the food is incredibly inconsistent. The first time we had delicious fresh fries, and another time, for no apparent reason, we had frozen fries with lots of oil. The price was the same. So... maybe you're lucky, maybe you'll get a terribly sickening plate of awful food.

02/05/2026: Sardinian gnocchi and Gallura soup, mixed grill, spaghetti with seafood... impossible to decide which dish is the best, so come back several times to try them all

19/02/2026: I work in Sardinia during the summer, and visiting Sottomonte... tasting their delicacies... mmm... zuppa gallurese, suckling pig... and all the other delicious specialties... the roaring fire, the kindness of the staff... all of this is priceless! Nothing can describe the satisfaction of dining at Giovannino. I go very often in the summer for "work," and I'm always more satisfied with my choice. Try it!

26/03/2026: To be perfectly honest, we came to this restaurant as a group hoping for a good first impression of the island and its people. Luckily, the other guests gave us a glimpse of what a truly warm welcome looks like. Despite the service, which I personally found deplorable, the food was spectacular, a stark contrast to the quality of the service. Would I recommend this place? The simple answer is yes. It serves its purpose of feeding you well, but don't expect to feel at home. P.S.: The carbonara could be improved.

07/04/2026: Exceptional place! The cocktails are truly unique and rare; I've never tried anything like them anywhere else. The amazing thing is that, despite the high quality, the prices are absolutely fair. A gem in Alghero!

05/04/2026: The most beautiful venue on the ramparts. The view of Capocaccia is breathtaking, complemented by the welcoming staff who ensure you enjoy the most beautiful sunset in the city. Cocktails are always accompanied by a welcome snack. Highly recommended.

15/03/2026: The welcome for Sunday lunch was excellent: the entrée included two excellent fried zucchini flowers and artichokes. We continued with a delicious wild asparagus risotto, which, in my opinion, could have been enhanced with a cream of the same vegetable to enhance the flavor (the chef is open to constructive criticism). We finished with a delicious strawberry salad accompanied by Chantilly cream. Excellent value! Highly recommended.

27/01/2026: I used to go there in the '80s, as a kid, when the neon sign still changed colors. I recognized Ottavio; he, rightfully, didn't recognize me. The pizza is as always, incredible! Light and crispy, just the way I like it. The staff at the counter and the waiter are incredibly kind and do everything they can to accommodate your needs (the calamari dish, which wasn't on the menu, was finger-licking delicious!). I remember the paintings of the Sartiglia hanging on the walls, but the restyling I found was truly captivating! Well done, well done, well done!

11/01/2026: A café that truly thrives as a bar and is a delight. The exceptionally friendly bartender immediately stands out – you can tell he's genuinely passionate about his work. Always welcoming and attentive, he greets every new guest with a heartfelt smile. This is precisely why we kept coming back. An Aperol Spritz or another aperitif on the small terrace is the perfect place to watch the world go by. We also loved coming in for a beer, accompanied by a delicious platter of cold cuts and cheeses, prepared entirely to our liking. The photos speak for themselves. With staff like this and such high-quality platters, they're clearly on the road to success. A café that lives primarily as a bar and captivates from the very first moment. Colpisce in particolare il barman, straordinariamente gentile: si percepisce immediately che svolge il suo lavoro con vera passione. Semper sorridente and attento, accoglie or nuovo ospite con un sorriso sincero. It is a proprio that is the motivation for this tornati più volte in this locale. An aperol or another aperitivo in the zone of the piccola terrazza is ideal for eating the vivace passaggio delle persone. Ci fermavamo volentieri also per una birra, accompagnata da una deliziosa tagliere, prepare and volta secondo the nostre preferenze personali. Le photo parlano da sole. With a single staff and with a quality that is elevated to the proposte, the success is extremely worthwhile.

01/03/2026: The lunch menu was incomprehensible. I was treated like a clueless tourist: it took 45 minutes to get a first course that wasn't what I ordered ("linguine" with crab shells instead of "fusilli" with cheese), and for the second course, a pork stew that was nothing but fat. Probably leftovers, since it was 3 pm. Over two hours of suffering in total.

02/11/2025: A very pleasant short vacation. The owners and staff were very courteous and helpful. The room was spacious, well-maintained, very clean, and well-soundproofed. The bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet with a good selection of sweet and savory dishes. The buffet was well-stocked and constantly replenished. The restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. All meals, both fish and meat, were always excellent quality at a more than fair price. There is a beautiful beach nearby, within walking distance, but the hotel is also ideally located for reaching other more popular beaches. If the opportunity arises again, we will return. Highly recommended.

26/03/2026: Magnificent restaurant perched on the cliffside with a breathtaking sea view! The large terrace is sunny all day long, and the setting is incredibly beautiful and chic. The dishes are very, very good and refined, and the presentation is superb. It was excellent; we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The presentation is impeccable, and the service flawless! Reservations are essential to secure a table.

24/02/2026: Located in the heart of the city, yet perched on a secluded cliffside between the harbor and Poetto beach, La Paillote is no longer a hidden gem. On the site of a former military base, the owners have created a beautiful haven with a small pebble beach, terrace seating, and an excellent restaurant with a creative menu, though the quality can be inconsistent. It's the perfect spot for a sundowner, and afterwards, you can enjoy cocktails and snacks or a full dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. In the evenings, the place often transforms into a restaurant-club with live music or a DJ. Note: Parking can be limited in the evenings.
