25/08/2025: We dined here during the San Vito Fireworks celebrations, and were greeted with kindness and a smile, which is always a pleasure. The place was packed, but within half an hour, an excellent pizza arrived. You can tell the ingredients are top-quality. Superb organization and attention to detail. Kudos to Titti Ivo and the entire staff.

Abbiamo mangiato una paella di pesce buonissima e, siccome era avanzata, Andrea, che ci ha serviti con professionalità, velocità e un bel sorriso, ha preparato una confezione da portare a casa. Personale veloce e attento, cibo ottimo, lo consiglio!

15/08/2025: We ate here twice during our week stay in Verbania. With three people, the food and service was excellent. Fresh ingredients and tasty and good price. With large group, the service was not so great. Many in our party were done eating while others were still waiting for their plates. They cannot really accommodate a large group. Food is good for price.

14/07/2025: We arrived at 8:15 pm, and that was the beginning of the end. The service was appalling, taking over 20 minutes for a server to come to our table to take our order. Once we placed our order, the food arrived quickly, thankfully because the restaurant wasn't full. However, it should be noted that the waitress grimaced as she served one of our dishes (lasagna Bolognese). Once we were finished, our dishes were decent but very simple: lasagna Bolognese and escalope Milanese. Being bon vivants, we wanted dessert. As a result, we left without it. Indeed, we had to wait to be relieved, and most importantly, no one paid any attention to us afterward. It was impossible to catch a server's eye for dessert or coffee since some were busy eating at the front of the restaurant with customers, others were deliberately ignoring us, and still others had disappeared. At the front of the restaurant, there's a bistro where people are standing, not very warm and welcoming, but with a sure-fire elbow bump. We got up and went to pay at the counter, since it was ultimately the only solution for the evening: to leave. We would have preferred never to set foot in there, and we certainly won't be back.

22/08/2025: If you're looking for an excellent seafood restaurant in Stresa, Il Clandestino is a must-visit! The ingredients are top quality and the fish is incredibly fresh. We started with the yellowtail sashimi with Pantelleria capers and sea fennel, a true dive into the sea: the aromas alone take you to the shore, and the taste is simply outstanding. The other dishes maintained the same high standard of freshness and skill from the chef. For dessert, an exceptional tiramisu. The chef is the true captain of the restaurant, expertly guiding both the kitchen and the dining room. Prices are slightly on the high side but completely in line with the quality offered. Highly recommended! If you are looking for an excellent fish restaurant in Stresa, Il Clandestino is a must! The raw materials are of the highest quality and the fish extremely fresh. The first course, amberjack sashimi with Pantelleria capers and sea fennel, was a true dive into the sea: the aromas recall the shore, and the flavor was simply excellent. The other courses also confirmed the same standard of freshness and the chef's skill. To conclude, an exceptional tiramisu. 09/09/2025: Unfortunately, the tip was very disappointing. We only got dry bread, no oil, and no pepper or salt. The grilled vegetables were completely unseasoned, and the fries had no sauce. My fish also came without sauce, even though the menu said otherwise. The staff were rather bored and not particularly friendly. I can't recommend this restaurant, and we came here specifically for this. Sorry!

29/08/2025: Here, the gap is wide between expectations and reality. Price and performance are completely out of proportion. The food was good, but since I didn't want anchovies, beetroot, or gorgonzola in my meal, I opted for a "salad": one mozzarella, three red tomatoes, and three yellow cherry tomatoes for a reasonable €18. I wouldn't call that a salad. The "boss" was running around with a face in his face. One waiter smelled of sweat. The toilets were so-so. The flush didn't work reliably. The soap was empty. That was the most expensive evening, but we've had better, more affordable (not cheaper) meals and enjoyed the evening with excellent service.

31/08/2025: Excellent cuisine, extremely friendly staff, and a splendid terrace overlooking the lake. It's also very convenient for those like us who decide to reach the village by boat, as there's a free dock available right next door. We ate really well, and it's been a long time since we've found everything so good in a restaurant with somewhat sophisticated cuisine. Ms. Emanuela was incredibly kind and professional! Everything was perfect, highly recommended!

27/08/2025: What a disappointment! Very good, attentive and attentive service, but the food...! A series of simplistic cooking and preparations: not worth the price! €140 for a menu that should have cost no more than €80. A huge problem with the desserts; there simply aren't any! They're ice cream. Several things disappointed us, such as the truffle ravioli: coarse, the sage ice cream, the sabayon, and the "tiramisu" for the "dessert" - not at all balanced in terms of taste. We really didn't like it at all. The work was not at all up to the expected standard. We went there for a birthday and asked for a small gesture for dessert (a simple candle?) that we didn't receive at the time, which disappointed us greatly. A very steep bill for truly disappointing food. We ate better at another restaurant in the same town, just a stone's throw away, for four times less. So yes, the building is beautiful, but that doesn't make up for it at all.
