06/01/2026: Divine! Christmas motorboat to the Island of Lights – Nativity scenes and flavors on Fishermen's Island: a truly special evening, one that will last a lifetime. For the lights event, we booked dinner at Ristorante Italia, on the island of the same name, and even our arrival on the water, amidst the Christmassy reflections and atmosphere, promised something unique. I'm not a fan of fish—especially lake fish—but I have to say that here they literally made me love it. Dishes of lake fish were divinely prepared, carefully presented, and passionately described by the owner: a talkative, pleasant, and deeply engaging person. Like the rest of the family, of course, but he in particular was able to guide us, with enthusiasm and expertise, in choosing the best they had to offer. The photos speak clearly and tell a lot, even if they can't fully convey the emotions we experienced at the table. Last but not least, the discovery that the restaurant also offers round-trip boat transportation to and from Baveno and Stresa. A boat piloted by the son: a detail that makes all the difference and makes the experience even more intimate, complete, and evocative. An evening of lights dancing on the water, authentic flavors, and genuine people. One to cherish forever.

05/01/2026: My husband, our dog, and I had lunch here yesterday. Everyone was very kind and answered all my questions. The risotto alla Borromeo is highly recommended. We'll be back.

21/11/2025: Thank you to the chef and the service, which were impeccable. We were fortunate enough this evening to enjoy marinated sashimi, lobster dumplings, perfectly cooked fish, and tender squid with katsuobushi. Everything was truly delicious. A wonderful discovery.

The atmosphere is welcoming and charming, with a touch of old-world elegance that makes everything even more special. A special thanks to the owner, who was incredibly kind and attentive: she recommended a truly delightful evening meal and even arranged a little surprise for my husband—a gesture we greatly appreciated and which made our stay even more memorable.

24/10/2025: Beautiful place! Even though it's autumn, I enjoyed eating outside thanks to the sunny weather. Excellent food, generous portions. The waitress was very kind and helpful.

20/09/2025: A very nice terrace on the first floor, and very friendly and charming service. The fresh pasta and fish dishes are particularly good. The portions are generous; it's hard to manage three full courses. Ideally, therefore, starters and side dishes are shared. We had the eggplant timbale and the mussels as starters, and both were very aromatic. The kitchen also prepares meat excellently. A particularly positive aspect is that many wines are available by the glass, so you can try more. We enjoyed the hospitality several times.

18/10/2025: My experience at this place was terrible. I didn't like the place; it smells so old, with dirty mirrors, tables too high for the seating, the lady serving was rather unfriendly, but above all, the food I ordered: lasagna alla bolognese. I thought that since it was an osteria, they'd cook the lasagna well, with lots of béchamel and ragù, as is traditional. Instead, I received a plate that looked completely unappealing; it seemed covered in a dull film. When I cut the pasta with a fork, I realized that the bottom layer was hard, dry, and almost burnt. The lasagna was just pasta, without its trademark ingredients. I tried to eat some despite everything, but after a few forkfuls, I couldn't stand it anymore. The lady asked me if everything was okay, but I was honest and said I didn't like it at all. She saw the plate was almost full. Finally, my husband gets his coffee. It wasn't possible to have it diluted with hot milk because we had a milk frother. All we had to do was heat the milk in a saucepan. At the cashier, I expected not to have to pay for my dish in full; if she had been a lady, she wouldn't have charged for it at all. Instead, my uneaten lasagna cost me 16 euros!

26/11/2025: Right by the lake, so you start with an awesome setting. I enjoyed the the seafood pizza, the Fish Plate and really enjoyed the tiramisu. Very friendly staff. Atmosphere is not fancy, very chill and laid back. A must to visit.

29/10/2025: We only wanted to have a drink at lunchtime, and even though the restaurant was practically empty, we were refused service. We can't understand this at all, because in the off-season, you'd think they'd be happy with so few customers... and drinks are a good source of revenue. Very disappointing! Attached is a picture to illustrate just how empty the restaurant was.

02/01/2026: Excellent seafood restaurant in an authentic setting. Top-quality ingredients: the mixed antipasto of lake fillets (5 different selections) is the perfect way to savor the local flavors; you can taste that it's prepared and marinated in-house. The tagliolini with fish ragù is a must-try. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere.

08/10/2025: Great restaurant on the lake with a beautiful view one level on the terrace and one by the lake. Great Italian dishes and wine from local producers. The food was amazing.

29/12/2025: Strolling along the shore of Lake Maggiore, we saw the sign "Pizzeria, wood-fired oven" and ended up eating everything but pizza: green lasagna, ossobuco, ricotta tart... But it was all delicious!! A pleasant place with quick and very friendly service. Definitely worth repeating!

05/11/2025: True hospitality in a small hotel with a big heart. Just 2 km from Stresa, it has parking and a private beach, excellently soundproofed rooms, and a breakfast buffet with homemade pastries, cured meats and cheeses, and freshly cooked eggs. The staff are friendly and professional, both in their welcome, room cleaning, and breakfast service. Congratulations, we'll be back!

09/10/2025: Large room, large bathroom, and large balcony. Clean. Good breakfast buffet. A bit noisy on weekdays, right on the street. Parking is available across the street. Staff and manager are friendly and accommodating. They always try to accommodate. Approximately 2 km to Stresa, not recommended for walking. No continuous sidewalk. Part of the way is on the street.

14/10/2025: I've been to the Grotto St. Anna a few times over the past few years, but each time I felt less hospitable and less welcomed as a guest. The sign on the gate in German stating that only drinks are served with food isn't exactly a welcome – it could certainly be addressed differently. And today, the absolute low point. As always, we walked to the grotto and unfortunately found ourselves in front of a locked gate. Even though Google and the website said it should be open from 12 p.m., we waited in vain for 40 minutes in front of the locked door before heading back. No "closed" sign, no voicemail, no information... and we weren't the only ones; they probably didn't need it.

14/10/2025: Avoid this restaurant at all costs! Totally unprofessional! We found ourselves standing in front of closed doors this afternoon, even though Google said the restaurant was open. There's no indication on the website that the restaurant is closed today. Can't be reached by phone either!
