14/10/2025: Stayed this summer, a charming place with meticulous attention to detail, a suite with a sea-view hot tub and breathtaking views. The breakfasts were generous and made with freshly picked produce. Kudos to Manuela, who took such great care of us. The garden is very well-kept; these past few days we've seen the passion of the gardener, a charming man with a Tuscan accent. In short, a place to unwind and be pampered by nature, relaxation, and Manuela's attention. Highly recommended!

26/10/2025: The restaurant is simple and overall works. It's air-conditioned, with a spacious dining room and floor-to-ceiling windows, perfect for a quiet dinner. The service is very friendly and quick. The pizza, perhaps, is a little subdued (the dough wasn't my cup of tea), but it's still delicious and delicious. Prices are reasonable, and the service is prompt. The overall experience deserves five stars.

15/01/2026: Genoese cuisine is excellently prepared. Flavor, ingredients, and digestibility are perfectly balanced. I recommend typical dishes with their traditional names: capone magro, a surprise for non-Genoese who might expect capon, but instead... Cod frisceu, and in this case, you need to either guess or learn a few dialect terms that immerse the tourist in the most authentic Genoese atmosphere. Mandilli (also a must here) with pesto, and everyone knows this one. Breaded and fried anchovies. The rest of the menu is discovered by sitting at the tables of this trattoria with its barrel-vaulted ceilings and unique location, at the end of a narrow alleyway, where the entrance is located, and behind one of the city's most beautiful buildings, Palazzo San Giorgio, in the area of ​​the Old Port, the Bigo, and the Aquarium. The quality, quantity, and price ratio is excellent.

24/01/2026: The quintessence of disappointment. It felt like we were bothering the waiters and waitresses. No goodbye at all, very long waiting times for the service, yet extremely quick when it came to bringing the card machine to pay. My girlfriend ordered the “risotto with red shrimp tartare”… there was indeed a risotto (although you could absolutely not taste any broth, only plain rice) and a few small pieces of shrimp scattered on top. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE WORD “TARTARE” WHEN YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY MAKING ONE. My dish seemed to have been prepared with an overly salty, industrial pesto. In short: disappointing. And honestly, unless you have the palate of a Doberman, this is a tourist trap to be avoided. A disgrace to Italy.

03/01/2026: We had a wonderful dinner at Quintessenza in San Remo, seated outside in their wind‑protected and heated area. The plastic enclosure kept us perfectly comfortable, and the table itself was excellent — cozy, calm, and ideal for enjoying the evening. We started with the paccheri al sugo di crostacei, a chef’s suggestion that turned out to be absolutely delicious, along with a beautifully prepared insalata di carciofi served raw and full of flavor. For the main courses, I chose the classic Orecchia d’Elefante and a rombo con carciofi al forno, both impeccably cooked and generously portioned. Dessert was equally impressive: a creamy cheesecake with caramello salato and a delightful meringata con marron glacé. Every dish was well prepared, balanced, and satisfying. The service added an extra touch of charm. Before the starters, the waiter brought us some bread and warm pizza slices, and we were offered a limoncello to finish the meal. The highlight, though, was the thoughtful gesture toward our dog Toffee, who received a few slices of ham as a treat — a small detail that made the experience feel truly personal. From start to finish, everything was smooth, attentive, and delicious. Quintessenza delivered a flawless experience that fully deserves 5 stars.

03/01/2026: We stopped here for lunch today. The fish dishes were delicious, the fried fish was delicate, and the hospitality was top-notch. The lady who welcomed us at the entrance was very kind. I'll definitely be back.

31/12/2025: Simplicity and good food. An unpretentious, simple restaurant on the main street of the village. Location (4), seating both inside (mostly) and outside. The interior is nothing special; the outside is well-designed and well-maintained. Menu (4), wide variety of dishes, fairly average. Service (4), friendly and fast (it should be noted that we arrived when the restaurant was still empty because it had just opened; but the judgment must be based on how it went). Value for money (5), absolutely fair and generous portions.

10/12/2025: We were with a tour so had a 3 course meal for €30 was weak worth it and such great food. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather. Such fast service too! I definitely recommend!

11/01/2026: A pleasant discovery...my family (11 of us) and I were looking for a place to have lunch in Albenga. Not being local, we tried several restaurants, and the only one that seemed available was "La Dolce Vita." It's a cinema-themed restaurant, clean, and has prompt and accurate service (if you're unsure or have questions, you'll receive a detailed explanation of the dishes). A small delay with one of the entrees was promptly resolved, with customer service that I'd describe as, to say the least, worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Excellent dishes (meat and fish), made with top-quality ingredients. Highly recommended!

04/01/2026: The ingredients and cuisine were wonderful, and the waiters were very kind and attentive. The wait wasn't too long, but the place was packed. I asked for a little more bread to mop up the seafood carbonara. I'll definitely be back.

07/01/2026: We recently had dinner at Mare Blu, and the experience was delightful from start to finish. The restaurant immediately gives off a welcoming, local vibe — many guests were greeted personally by the owners and staff, which says a lot about how beloved this place is in the community. Our waitress, though not Italian, delivered impeccable service. She was polite, attentive, and carried a constant, sincere smile that added an extra touch of warmth to the evening. We chose the fuori menu, starting with paccheri con cape sante, followed by tonno as the main course. Every dish was flawlessly prepared. The tuna, in particular, was exceptionally tender and fresh — a real highlight. To finish, we shared a paradise cake, a layered dessert with a hint of alcohol. Despite its richness, it was absolutely delicious. Mare Blu receives my full recommendation. The food, the atmosphere, and the service all came together beautifully. Even our dog Toffee was given a comfortable and safe spot beside our table, which we truly appreciated. A lovely evening in every way. I look forward to returning.

06/01/2026: Very dissatisfied with the unfair treatment. Before Christmas, we booked dinner for sixteen people, agreeing, since we would be arriving late, to a set menu of their choice of appetizers, a main course, and a house dessert, for €25 per person. I don't want to comment on the welcome, because "friendliness" could be subjective (although "snorting" at everything seemed objectively rude to those present). Since we were celebrating a birthday and had brought a cake, we asked (in advance) if we could have a bottle for a toast instead of the house dessert. We were told no, that they only had champagne for €70. However, when they didn't even bring us the house dessert, we were told that the kitchen was closed, and we had our own cake anyway. And of course, the price was not discounted. Very unfair behavior, in our opinion.
