17/05/2025: I recently dined at Miky in Monterosso al Mare, a restaurant formerly awarded a Michelin star and still mentioned in the Guide. Having enjoyed exceptional meals at starred restaurants in cities like Bilbao, New York, and Mexico City, I came in with high expectations. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the worst dining experience I’ve had to date. I made a same-day reservation, which was surprisingly easy to get—a red flag in hindsight. My friend and I were seated, and I expressed interest in the innovation tasting menu. However, because my friend has a shellfish allergy, she couldn’t partake. The waiter (with glasses) informed us that the tasting menu could only be served if both guests ordered it—no exceptions. I asked whether we could sit at separate tables so I could have the menu and she could go à la carte. He said that would be acceptable. Rather than be accommodated, my friend chose to take her meal to go and eat by the beach. Shockingly, her takeaway box came with no utensils or napkins—something so basic and easy to provide. It felt careless. What made the experience worse was the manager’s attitude. When I raised the issue at the end of my meal, he backed the waiter’s decision without hesitation, even after I explained the allergy situation. I shared that I’ve dined at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants where dietary restrictions are handled with grace and flexibility. His response? “We don’t want the Michelin star.” If that’s the case, why plaster your windows with stickers showcasing previous Michelin recognition? If it truly means nothing to you, I challenge you to take them down. I hesitate to bring this up, but it didn’t escape our notice that we were the only people of color dining in the restaurant that night. I would like to believe that had nothing to do with the lack of courtesy or flexibility we received, but the experience left a bad taste in more ways than one. I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience was so deeply disappointing—both in terms of service and food quality—that I feel compelled to share. There are so many better places to eat in Cinque Terre. I suggest you skip this one.

12/06/2025: I ordered Pizza Margherita with Mozzarella and The pizza came unsliced, Like they didn't slice it up and it was not good service, i cannot slice my own pizza it'll make it worse. The atmosphere was pretty chill, there were Different places to eat like their own restaurant and you can also eat outside, That was pretty good. And there was one Waiter he was pretty funny. The Mozzarella on my Pizza was cold, i didn't like that cuz i usually eat sliced up and hot mozzarella. The Crust was also good as usual but i dont think there was a special thing about the food. It depends if you like your mozzarella cold und your pizza unsliced.

19/04/2025: Found by chance, it remains outside the classic tourist tour of the seafront promenade but the Tuscan restaurant is worth a detour. We had a fish-based lunch and it was all excellent. Very nice waiter. Not to be missed

06/06/2025: Due sere fa sono andato con la mia famiglia in questo ristorante, era da tempo che volevo fare, ma l’ultimo anno non è stato un periodo tranquillo ed ho sempre rimandato. Tutte le persone che ho conosciuto da quando ho casa a Sarzana mi indicavano Ottone I come il miglior ristorante del posto. Io non sono un cliente che fa sconti ai ristoratori, una cosa mi da particolarmente fastidio, della buona materia prima cucinata male. Da Ottone, questo non è successo, Letizia e Remo hanno un’estrema cura nella scelta degli ingredienti e nei loro piatti fanno risaltare la qualità. Per antipasto mi è stata servita una tagliata di tonno, con cipolle e una generosa spolverata di tartufo, a seguire ho ordinato crostacei su una julienne di verdure, mia moglie ha scelto il bianco di baccalà con cipolle ramate, a finire due dessert, ho apprezzato molto il babà con crema e fragole, non troppo inzuppato di rum, che avrebbe coperto i sapori. Non ho mancato di spiare nei piatti del tavolo vicino, che hanno optato per una spaghetto ai crostacei, non contaminato, come spesso capita, dal pomodoro per lasciare intatto il sapore del sughetto del pesce. In definitiva, soddisfatto dalla cucina e dai gestori.

07/05/2025: A superb, unexpected evening! We had a blast! Delicious dishes, especially the pumpkin tagliatelle & gnochiete! This little restaurant is much better than those in the city center, real homemade and tasty cuisine. The server was adorable and gave good advice. I highly recommend this restaurant!

30/05/2025: Servizio approssimative, prenotando avevo specificato che ero intollerante al pepe e peperoncino, hanno detto che non c’erano problemi, poi una volta seduto avevo a disposizione come scelta un solo secondo. Passando al servizio essere chiamato gioia della cameriera mai vista e conosciuta non è stata certo una esperienza, dolci senza anima prezzo caro date le premesse. I tavoli, nonostante si paghi il coperto, apparecchiati con tovagliette di carte e tovaglioli di carte, glagete di plastica sbeccata

15/02/2025: Ogni anno (da ormai diverso tempo) quando sono in vacanza in queste zone, è ormai una tappa fissa la cena in questo ristorante. Mi sono sempre trovato 'molti bene' in rapporta alla qualità /'prezzo, piatti di pesce squisiti e molto abbondanti ma sopratutto anche di qualità. Personale premuroso e molto attento sopratutto 'gentile', consigliatissimo!!
