01/12/2025: During a pleasure trip, we stumbled upon this restaurant near our hotel, right in the center of Bologna.
The way we were welcomed and the food made us return two nights in a row. A bubbly and very friendly waitress gave us perfect advice. We trusted her, and she was right. The grilled skewered meat as an appetizer is definitely worth it. The gnocchi as a first course are also very good. The restaurant is meticulously maintained, as is the service.
If we return to Bologna, a dinner is definitely a must.

Yesterday I went to lunch at this restaurant with 15 people, a group of former colleagues. We were greeted and escorted to our tables with smiles by Martina and Matteo.
The service was impeccable, with smiles and the kindness of the staff at the table, explaining in detail what we were about to eat. Last but not least, the owner was willing to prepare dishes different from the ones we had agreed upon, due to intolerances in two people. The restaurant is located right in the city center, making it very convenient for tourists and for those working. It's a place I'm happy to have discovered, recommended by a dear friend, and I'll definitely be back.

08/11/2025: I had dinner at Stella di Lippo and was truly impressed. The seafood menu is rich, varied, and meticulously crafted, with dishes that combine the great classics of seafood with more original and creative twists, without ever losing sight of the quality of the ingredients. The dishes arrive beautifully presented, balanced in flavor, and in appropriate portions, a sign of a kitchen that works with care and respect for the product.
The service is impeccable, punctual, and professional, with courteous staff who immediately put you at ease and offer discreet and competent advice. You can sense a careful, welcoming management team that cares about the guest experience, not just the food.
The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, ideal for a dinner for two or an occasion with friends. Stella di Lippo is one of those places that makes you want to return. Highly recommended.

08/10/2025: We were there with our motorhome. The washroom is clean, and the shower is hot and there's no limit. You should know your vehicle, as the access is a bit cramped. But it wasn't a problem with our 7-meter motorhome. Everyone is very friendly, and the groundskeeper speaks good German. The food in the restaurant is good. We would come again.

23/11/2025: When I arrived, they asked me how many people I was in. I said I was alone, and they told me there was no room for me; the restaurant was full. I said I would wait until a table became available. Surprisingly, after about five minutes, a table opened up.
The dish I ordered was delicious.
Towards the end, the manager was very rushed; you had to pay quickly and leave quickly. The atmosphere was too businesslike for my taste and lacked a certain friendliness.
22/11/2025: We went for Saturday lunch. The noise level was quite high, but luckily they put us in the room downstairs, which was quieter. I must say that the quality and flavor of the food were excellent: the cured meats were delicious, and the dish I absolutely recommend among the first courses is the gnocchetti dei peccati with gorgonzola and porcini mushrooms: spectacular, perfect.
The desserts were also good: the panna cotta was a bit small but delicious!

05/11/2025: It's a family affair at wonderful da Cesari in Bologna. That's owner Paolino with his back to us, manning the cassa at the door. His son led us to the "Cabernet/Sauvignon/Sangiovese" Liano (sic) which we then found out he used to work for. 3 million bottles/yr production. OK. It still had grapes in it. Marinated duck foie gras had a truly amazing ginger candied pumpkin with it, super yum! Sformatino of porcini was suitably autumnal, with sauteed porcini as well, not a bad start. Tortellini in (beef this time) brodo had to be tried ("meat filling, always meat for tortellini") but I really enjoyed my rabbit ravioli with smoked goat cheese! Ki followed that with braised guanciola. After a crema gelato with balsamic vinegar and a torta tenerina (almost flourless chocolate cake), they wouldn't let us pay or leave without a digestivo. I wanted to try the Nocino delle Streghe (witches), which our server explained is made from walnuts possibly harvested by virgins by the light of the full moon, hence the name. Not so sure about that, but it was certainly digestion enhancing. Enjoyable and would return to explore more of the menu.
02/11/2025: The restaurant presents itself as a classic osteria. The space isn't huge, but it still allows you to eat without feeling overwhelmed. We ordered several traditional appetizers with cured meats, all top-quality, and all the first courses we tried also met our expectations. Prices are average, verging on the high, but considering the quality of the food, the expense is manageable. The service is prompt and unobtrusive.
The only drawback is the single bathroom (for both men and women), although it was commendably clean.

Antica Osteria Romagnola

15/11/2025: The restaurant's ambiance is pleasant: antique furnishings, a refined atmosphere, and attractive lighting, particularly the mirrors that visually enlarge the room. Overall, the place is well-presented.
The element that struck me most was a beautiful vintage Berkel slicer sadly positioned at the entrance next to the front door: during my visit, it was actually being used to slice mortadella, alas, just inches from the door and the constant flow of customers. Considering the traffic and smog of Via Rialto, I personally didn't find the location ideal.
I had mixed impressions of the appetizers. The pitted olives, creamed ricotta, onions, and tomatoes had a flavor that, to my palate, recalled very simple, budget-friendly products that weren't particularly appreciated. Being accustomed to cooking, perhaps I'm more sensitive to certain nuances, but overall, I perceived a somewhat basic quality in the preparations. The freshly sliced mortadella was certainly appreciable. I would have liked it to have been prepared in a less exposed area.
The glass of wine served seemed rather small, barely more than a taste.
Some details about the service also left me wondering: cutlery placed directly on faux(?) leather placemats and bread served in an unprotected metal container didn't convey the impression of great care.
Regarding the pasta, the menu called for "spaghettoni," but the dish I received was more like bucatini and, for my taste, overcooked. Those accustomed to cooking might notice some limitations in this regard in the management of cooking and ingredients.
The pumpkin risotto, which on paper I expected to be more balanced, was instead dominated by Taleggio, to the point of completely covering the flavor of the pumpkin. I also noticed a rather marked presence of balsamic vinegar, which further unbalanced the dish by hiding the key ingredient: the pumpkin.
Overall, the atmosphere is pleasant, but I believe some aspects—from the attention to detail to the selection and presentation of raw materials—could be further improved.
While I recognize the commitment to the atmosphere and management of the dining room, my personal experience fell short of the restaurant's reputation. Based on my personal tastes and what I've experienced, it's not a place I'd recommend, although I understand that others may experience it differently.
15/11/2025: Having lived in Bologna for a year, I finally went there tonight for the first time with friends who were visiting. It was an excellent experience, both for the food and the atmosphere! I'll gladly return!

30/11/2025: The owners are the same as those of Pedigrotta on Via S. Stefano, a place I used to go to as a girl. The place is simple and well-kept. It offers a selection of pizza, meat, and fish. All ingredients are high-quality and carefully selected.
The staff is friendly and helpful. I ate fish, which was very good.
Excellent value for money.
I will definitely be back.

The food was absolutely delicious; we ordered various seafood dishes, pizza, and Italian desserts. The ingredients were all very fresh, and the wine selection was extensive.
