19/10/2025: Recommended. We stopped for lunch today with friends after a walk in the area. A friendly place, with limited seating inside and the option to eat outside. We were greeted by the friendly and courteous staff, along with our dogs. Excellent dishes, generous portions, served with smiles and kindness. Excellent value.

But what truly elevated the evening were the breathtaking lake views that framed every bite. The ambiance was romantic and serene, perfect for a special night out. Service was attentive without being intrusive, making us feel welcomed and relaxed. If you're in Varenna, this is a must-visit spot for a memorable meal with an amazing view.

20/10/2025: We've rarely eaten such good pizza. The dough is so delicious, light and fluffy, and you don't feel like you have stones in your stomach afterward. The location right on the lake is absolutely beautiful. Dogs are welcome. The service seemed a bit irritated, perhaps due to the end of the season. Otherwise, it's a family restaurant, so the noise level is a bit loud. We would still go back anytime.

22/07/2025: I don't know about the evening, but at lunchtime, hospital-style menu, annoyed and incompetent service, very sad portions, dirty location like a railway after-work club, dulcis in fondo, mascarpone dessert taken out of the freezer, hard as marble, inedible, everything left over, paid anyway, final bill for this disgusting dish; €18, change jobs...

18/11/2025: This is one of my favorite spots in the city! The café offers a wide selection of hot drinks, perfect for winter. 07/11/2025: We stopped by Nilu’s Bar in Verena on a rainy afternoon when most of our planned restaurants were either closed or fully booked — and it turned out to be a great choice! To start, we ordered drinks — I had a tropical fruit punch and my husband had martini. Both were excellent. For lunch, we tried the bruschetta with mozzarella and a prawn sandwich, which were delicious, well-prepared, and nicely presented. For dessert, we went for a Nutella dark chocolate crepe, and honestly, it was the star of the meal — absolutely delightful! The restaurant setup was cozy and inviting, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, a pleasant surprise and a lovely experience despite the rainy weather. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

29/10/2025: Great location. Tried it for an afternoon snack, with the sweet crepes. Plenty of choice, and the crepes were delicious and beautifully presented. Looking at the menu, it's worth noting that the cocktails are reasonably priced compared to other restaurants and bars nearby. I think it's a good place to have an aperitivo.

11/11/2025: We ended up here quite by accident, as all the other local restaurants were already closed at that hour. Although the place looked unassuming, the pizza was definitely better than what we'd had at more expensive restaurants. We definitely recommend it!

20/08/2025: A simple place, mostly for takeout. There's also a counter with trestle chairs where you can eat in. The pizza is good and reasonably priced. At lunchtime, a pizza of your choice and a drink are available for just €6. Dine in or take out, a real bargain! I recommend it.

13/08/2025: Good morning, Well, has anything changed? I ordered some pizzas, which were quite dry, and also a kebab sandwich. Those who've eaten it tell me it wasn't anything special. (The bread was also uncooked - white). Also, a dry and undercooked focaccia (white), and without any salt or a pinch of rosemary or anything else... a little oil... I'm sorry, but I didn't really like the food I ordered. Let's hope it goes better next time. R.b

26/09/2025: A nice little venue that was quaint inside with attentive staff and the ability to customize pizza toppings. The pizza was only average in my opinion. The toppings just felt like they were placed on top of a bread rather than infused together. The pizza base was thick and I'm used to (and prefer) thin based pizza. It was a pretty light base however . I'm also puzzled why they serve pizza slices and not just circle pizza like traditional ones I'm used to. Overall a decent experience. Btw the salads and fries were great.

16/09/2025: What a hopeless restaurant. First of all, you have to pay €3 per person to eat there. We found out later when we got the receipt. Then the pizza. Well, it's not a regular pizza, but a very thick slice. It looks like forcaccia dough. It's not the dough. A treat of rubbery mozzarella on top, and enjoy, or rather, chew. The waitress was attentive, though. They'll never see us again. I'd rather eat a dry sandwich.

05/10/2025: Everything was perfect: the setting, the atmosphere, warm and welcoming, the food excellent, the desserts wonderful, the service impeccable, it's hard to find better, very good.

22/10/2025: I visited Clavicola a few nights ago for the first time, and the experience was completely unacceptable in one fundamental respect. I find it unacceptable that, in 2025, the free and reckless use of e-cigarettes is allowed in an indoor venue, with people vaping just inches away from other patrons, without any staff intervention. What made the situation even worse was noticing, once I went to the cashier, that the waitress was also at the counter, busy looking at her phone and freely smoking/vaping. This complete disregard not only for the customers, but also for the common-sense regulations governing indoor spaces, demonstrates shocking negligence in the management of the venue. I strongly advise against going there to anyone looking for a clean and respectful environment.

12/10/2025: The pizza is good, but they should be more careful when packaging takeout pizzas. This time, I ate my pizza with melted ink from several receipts, some from dishes that weren't mine. I found them at the bottom of the pizza box, right under my piping hot pizza, which melted the receipt ink. A few years ago, I found a stainless steel utensil in the pizza box; now, I've found it at home. So, no complaints about the pizza, but be careful what you do.

04/10/2025: Food is a solid ok. You won’t be disappointed but you won’t be wowed. The highlight is the location. We had pizza, pasta, charcuterie, bruschetta and gelato for dessert. My daughter recommends the green apple gelato. My son recommends the cold meat and cheese platters.

06/09/2025: It's like stepping back in time, into the trattorias of the '70s. The food is of the highest quality, and the pesto is homemade and made with care... not the usual jar from the supermarket. The only shame...they close at the end of the month... Sadly, businesses like this are disappearing.
