08/08/2024: To begin, I was absolutely bewildered at some of the negative and some outright ridiculous reviews (in my opinion) regarding this business, therefore as a level 8 contributor with over 13 million views to date as well as being a frequent traveller to Italy, Liguria in particular, I hope you will read this as being truly honest and genuine. My wife and I had to stay overnight in Genova enroute back to the UK and as we were in the Brignole area around 7pm I took to Google to find a nice eatery rather than being somewhat restricted around the airport. Rustichello Restaurant looked ideal, only a few minutes walk from the train station, our kind of local cuisine and it opened for dinner at 7pm, perfect. We arrived a couple of minutes before opening however the female staff member setting up the outside tables was extremely friendly and accommodating directing us (and our luggage) indoors and to a table and were we lucky as by 7.30/8.00pm they were full. The staff were professional, courteous and friendly and although busy within a short period of time, were always attentive and quick. Onto the food, well what can I say, other than outstanding. To begin you are given some lovely warm, fresh bread and focaccia which was regularly replenished. Our starters were their popular trofiette al pesto and a pasta with salted anchovies, butter and crushed walnuts. Both dishes were definitely fresh and homemade, perfectly cooked and very flavoursome. The pesto was thick and creamy accompanying the trofettie perfectly and definitely traditional. The anchovy and walnut pasta was also very good with good depth of flavours and topped with a small fried squid which was a nice touch. The dish was and only in my opinion slightly dry with maybe benefitting with more butter or some oil but overall full of flavour and perfectly cooked. For our mains, we had beef tagliata and the crispy octopus. Again both dishes very tasty and full of flavour, the beef cooked perfectly accompanied by a few roasted potatoes and a rocket salad. The octopus was perfectly cooked then what seemed deep fried for a very short time in order to crisp the exterior, served on a bed of puréed, buttery potato and a lovely red onion and olive side. For dessert we opted to share the homemade tirrimisu as we always do no matter where we go, probably just to compare regional recipes, not that we need a reason and their’s was not to disappoint. The highlight however was what we ended with. We shared a lemon sorbet with fresh basil and pink peppercorn. Wow, this was a palette cleanser on another level. The basil flavour was bold yet did not kill the lemon flavour just strange seeing a green lemon sorbet, it was a sure winner to finish off the meal, well apart from the obligatory limoncello that is, chilled and not cheap and syrupy like many. We had 2 or 3 bottles of sparkling water and a bottle of Cinque Terre Ligurian white wine. Overall we were just over €100 which for 3 courses of that calibre with wine, I feel was a great price and for that quality of food elsewhere down the coast i.e Santa Margherita Ligure, we would have been €150 or more. Finally as we paid, the very friendly owner struck up a conversation about golf and whiskey with us being from Scotland even offering us a free dram from his collection. Overall, the staff, service, food and price was very good and to then get the customer service we did at the end, money really can’t buy! We will be sure to visit again the next time we are in Genova. Grazie Mille

17/08/2024: Totally recommend this place! The restaurant owner and her nephew (server) were very friendly and food was excellent! I had the salmon pasta looking one (I forgot the exact name) and a steak. They have outdoor dining which is very nice and also indoor dining and the price is very affordable.

21/08/2024: The granita is something sublime, I recommend having it with cream (one of the best I've ever eaten). If I can only point out one flaw to improve the shop it would be to increase the flavors of granitas, perhaps offer the most common ones such as chocolate, lemon or coffee. After all, it is an excellent ice cream shop worthy of all respect and the staff is very kind and friendly.

19/08/2024: Di ritorno da una bella (e bagnata!) gita al Monte Monega, abbiamo consumato al Santo Spirito una piacevole Cena rigenerante. Locale curato, cucina attenta al territorio, servizio ottimo con la attenzione e la competenza del giovane titolare e di sua madre. Rapporto qualità/prezzo corretto. Menzione speciale per le tagliatelle al prebuggiun.

03/08/2024: One of the best restaurants we had in Levanto. Everything is so good 😊. We had dinner x2 at this restaurant. We had this rose that was so good that we looked it up and ordered a case to be send to the USA. The owner works very hard to come up with very unique and testy new things everyday. I’m so so picky with food and service. So so good 😊

24/07/2024: We had dinner outside, good service, attentive and friendly waiter. There are also refined dishes and good raw materials. The spaghetti with seafood, the sea bream fillet and the meringue dessert are very good. They also have sulfite-free wines

31/08/2024: Eravamo in cerca di un posto semplice e siamo entrati fiduciosi, sulla base di alcune rapide considerazioni fatte lì per lì davanti al locale. Cucina davvero genuina. La pasta fresca è squisita e così pure i sughi. Lo stesso si può dire dei secondi e dei dolci. Insomma a questa trattoria semplice non manca proprio nulla per essere superlativa!

25/08/2024: Menu' ligure , lasagne al pesto e ravioli al tuccu' buoni , arrosto al forno e pancia di vitello ottimi , prezzo concorrenziale. Servizio e accoglienza molto genovese di poche parole e pochi sorrisi . Non importa basta che si mangi bene e si spenda il giusto. Comunque non sara' il ristorante della vita ma per un pranzetto veloce genovese puo' andar bene. Nella sua estrema semplicita' consigliato.

03/08/2024: the advice written in Italian is after the French advice Here is the best place in Alassio to drink a cocktail. The map is impressive and the quality is up to par. The best Bellini I've ever had. The waiters are very welcoming and smiling. The music (electro-lounge with playlists that the waiters compose in winter available on Spotify Sangiuccu late...) is excellent and all the drinks served with delicious antipasti. Sitting around high tables in the shopping street (il Budello) it’s a really nice place. Don't hesitate. 🇮🇹 This is the best place in Alassio to drink a cocktail. The menu is impressive and the quality is there. The best Bellini I've ever had in my life. The servers are very welcoming and smiling. The music is excellent (electro-lounge with a playlist that the waiters compose in winter available on Spotify Sangiucco late...) and all the drinks are served with delicious appetizers. Sitting around the high tables in via dello shopping (il Budello) is a really nice place. Don't hesitate.

14/08/2024: Appena entrati ci ha guardati da testa ai piedi, vedendo che eravamo vestiti bene per iniziare ci ha detto che non faceva le pizze e solo ristorante nonostante il forno sfornava pizze a go go, poi appena seduti abbiamo fatto notare che il menu era diverso da quello mostrato all'ingresso, la sua risposta è stata non è vero ciao, solo maleducazione, ce ne siamo andati immediatamente, il mondo dei furbetti è finito, i turisti non sono tutti stupidi, svegliatevi......

05/08/2024: Hier Fisch zu essen ist eine Offenbarung. Wir hatten die Fischsuppe als Vorspeise zu zweit. Sehr reichhaltige Portion. Danach Frito Misto vom Fisch und Meeresfrüchten und Mixed Fischgrill. Dazu ein traumhaftes Restaurant direkt am Strand und mit Paolo einen vortrefflichen Kellner, der sein Handwerk wahrlich versteht. Ein Muss für jeden Fischliebhaber, der Savona besucht. Einfach nur grossartig. Vielen Dank - wir kommen bald wieder zum Glück sind wir nur am Anfang unserer Ferien.

03/08/2024: Excellent pizza restaurant! The staff is always very friendly and helpful, the fish and seafood are really very good -- the fried food is not greasy and is instead light. Delicious pizzas -- my favorite is the Bella Pra with stracchino and Pra pesto
