30/07/2025: À fuir absolument. Endroit sale, ambiance désagréable. Ma fille a accidentellement sali une fourchette en jouant avec un bonbon fructis , et la responsable a refusé de la garder après , sous prétexte que ce n’était « pas son problème et que un enfant de 3 ans fais pas ça »… Résultat : elle m’a fait payer la fourchette et le couteau Et j’ai payer plus qu’il fallait ((( Comme si ça ne suffisait pas, elle nous a aussi facturé 5€ par personne pour les couverts, ce qui n’était indiqué nulle part. Et au moment de payer, c’était encore pire : je voulais régler en espèces, mon amie en carte, et là, la gérante a littéralement fait un scandale, refusant qu’on paie séparément. Franchement, j’ai voyagé dans pas mal de pays, mais je n’ai jamais vu un service aussi désagréable et irrespectueux. Très mal accueillis, aucune flexibilité, aucune politesse. Le seul point positif ? C’est proche de la gare. Mais franchement, même gratuit, je n’y retournerais pas.

N’y allais pas la gérante très vulgaire et agressive nous a insulté en italien parce qu’un enfant de 4 ans a sali ses couverts et nous les a fait payer… la nourriture etait très médiocres et les fruits de mer pas frais … vraiment trees choquant et très mauvaise expérience… limite raciste vous êtes en Italie ici il faut parler italien!?! Quelle honte

Every time I enter, I'm struck by the freshness: the brioches are fragrant, well-leavened, just the right amount of richness without being cloying; the assorted pastries showcase flavor and variety, with perfectly measured creams. The cakes are beautiful to look at and delicious to eat; the decoration is meticulous, and the ingredients seem carefully selected. Then there are those little highlights that evoke a memory: typical local products, more "classic" desserts that remain faithful to Genoese culinary traditions, yet expertly reworked. The pastry shop and the atmosphere The shop is well-kept, elegant but not pretentious: the furnishings and display cases immediately put you in a good mood, the lighting is adequate, and the spaces—though not huge—are well-organized. Impeccably clean. It's the kind of place where you can stop for a relaxed breakfast or a small sweet treat during the day. The porticoed exterior makes the entrance inviting, especially during the warmer hours. The Sales Assistants and Service This is where courtesy and expertise come into play. The staff are generally kind, helpful with a smile, and able to offer advice without being intrusive. They know how to answer questions about the products, explain the ingredients, and suggest pairings like "this cake goes well with an espresso like this" or "if you're looking for something light, try this." Service is also quick; despite occasionally being crowded, the organization seems well-oiled. In short, Mantero isn't just a pastry shop, it's an experience: quality desserts, an atmosphere that invites you to linger even just to browse, and attentive staff who make every visit worthwhile. If you love well-made desserts, you'll find reason to return here time and time again.

26/09/2025: It's a shame the clerk tried her best not to serve me. I had to leave without buying anything, and she gave me a sarcastic goodbye. I know the pastries are excellent, but it's a shame about the staff!

11/09/2025: Total disorganization! They didn't have a working POS machine, long waits for coffee, and the staff weren't even friendly: we definitely won't be back!

30/08/2025: The place is not bad, facing the sea, the space is small since the waiters could not even move, the service is good, the problem is that you wait more than an hour to have dishes that are not at all nice to look at in terms of plating and taste, frozen products, given the price, could be done better. Have a good evening.

26/09/2025: The gelato is good, undoubtedly among the best in the area. It's a shame the staff isn't very attentive and courteous. In response to the owner: It didn't quite work out that way. I came in and asked which was the smallest container to take away. Half a kilo, the clerk replied, three flavors. So I didn't even have time to ask for the three flavors before I was immediately interrupted and asked to get a receipt first, quite rightly so. I paid €12.50 and asked for vanilla. "We don't have any." So first you make me pay and then you tell me it's not available. I understand we're in Genoa, but I don't think that's the right thing to do. Anyway, in the end I got the cream, chocolate, and hazelnut: each one better than the last.

22/09/2025: This is one of the better gelateria in my neighborhood, so when I don't want to go far, I can choose a tasty gelato from this shop. In past, the staff hasn't been so friendly, but the more recent visit was better. They have classic flavours and some more original, like the salted caramel and nocciola with wafer that are top choices.

11/09/2025: My wife and I went to dinner at a restaurant that, despite being local, I only discovered during a previous business dinner. This was my second time there, and I have to say the food was decent, but unfortunately the owner's rudeness far outweighed the quality of the food. It's a real shame, because the place has potential, but the staff's attitude can really ruin the experience.

09/09/2025: It could have been a good place for a quick snack if only the girl had paid a little more attention to the customers instead of chatting with the pizza chef. Slices of pizza and farinata were served cold without asking if they wanted them reheated.

13/10/2025: I had booked Friday 10/10 for Sunday 12/10 for a day in Monterosso. The owner or someone on his behalf told me, "Don't worry, we're in low season and there's no crowds." I'll leave my last name and cell phone number. On Sunday 12/10 we arrived for lunch and, to our disbelief, there was a note on the restaurant door saying they were closed due to a technical problem. It's okay that a problem could arise, but if you have reservations and you know you can't keep them with the contact details, it might be better to call to let them know what happened. Or, it's only the customer's obligation to call if they cancel. I'm sorry, but the problem was finding a place in other restaurants since we're in low season and there's no crowds. If we wanted to have lunch, we settled for a bit of focaccia and ate standing up.

24/09/2025: Very disappointing. Exactly 6 ravioli on the plate; we didn't taste the truffle. Not a bad dish, but €55 for 2 people and leaving on an empty stomach... I absolutely do not recommend it.

07/09/2025: WARNING: HISTAMINE POISONING‼️‼️ My mother and a friend ate a tuna salad, and both immediately felt ill. My mother was admitted to the hospital in Savona with severe symptoms, and they immediately realized it was poisoning from poorly preserved fish. She later learned that this wasn't the first case. We want to make this known so we can prevent this from happening again.
