13/09/2025: I was walking along the street when I was enveloped by the scent of sweets... and to my surprise, I saw this workshop full of delicious creations. So far, I've enjoyed the filled shortcrust pastry (my favorite), and I have to admit, they're the best I've ever had in Gaeta! I'll definitely be back to try everything else.

28/08/2025: Drawn by the comments I read online, I decided to try these famous fried bombs. I went to Via dell'Indipendenza 79, where their small shop sells baked goods for breakfast (croissants, bombs, sfogliatelle, donuts, and various biscuits). I tried the bombs with custard...I expected more given the excellent reviews! The cream was sticky (probably made with flour as a thickener), and the dough was soft, but with a bland flavor. It's a shame, because you can see and taste that the production is fresh and artisanal. A little more attention to these small details and the 5-star rating is definitely within reach.

06/10/2025: Hello visitors to Bar Christian. I highly recommend it. We were warmly welcomed. Incredibly friendly service. The view of the sea and the harbor was unbeatable! We had espresso and cappuccino, followed by beer and a Campari Spritz. Nuts and chips were always on the side. We enjoyed this moment by the water at 24 degrees Celsius, and in October, that too. We'd be happy to come back! And Gaeta itself is very, very beautiful! Best regards

06/08/2025: Cerco su trip il migliore di San felice circeo e prenoto, servizio lentissimo e non carismatico la location molto carina e il cibo ordinato servito in maniera piacevole ma la lentezza e la tranquillità dei gestori era incredibile, 45 minuti per far arrivare un supplì, insalata di mare e un tonno scottato , un ora dopo ci portano i piatti principali ma a quel punto non avevamo più fame e abbiamo chiesto un box per portar via le pietanze, peccato perche era tutto buono ma non si può andare al ristorante e mangiare in questo modo si rovina l’atmosfera, credo che dovrebbero cercare un menu più veloce in modo di velocizzare tutte le comandate e magari incassare anche un po di più

15/08/2025: Not quite what I expected. The food was average, and the grilled calamari tasted burnt. The waiter/owner did his best, but he couldn't do it alone.

26/09/2025: We tried the restaurant, staying at the hotel, with the à la carte menu. The view is the most beautiful on Ponza, a marvelous terrace overlooking Chiaia di Luna beach. The menu is different for lunch and dinner, both satisfying. The prices are obviously high, but for the location and the quality, they're justified. The service is perfect, very professional. For dinner, we tried the fried calamari and grilled calamari on a potato cake, both excellent. The salad was also a surprise. The dessert was a bit disappointing. For lunch, the spaghetti with clams and bottarga was excellent. And so was the seafood salad. A feast for the eyes and the palate.

20/09/2025: Let me start by saying that I'm not interested in denigrating anyone, but rather in encouraging improvement. I'm giving it two stars because you expect more from a four-star hotel restaurant. The location isn't enough—it's very beautiful, and the ambiance is also very good—but the rest is needed. The service could be improved, especially regarding the cutlery arrangement and maintaining the same non-standard servings for two people. Then there's the food. A dish that "ran out" at 8:30 PM should be removed from the menu, and you shouldn't wait to be asked to tell us so. We ordered two first courses, which, based on their names, raised certain expectations, but the flavors were very distant and basic (the base was tomato, and that was basically all we could taste). Then there was the fried fish, which left us unsure about the freshness of the fish, but that's an unprovable feeling. Then there was the side salad (mixed salad with citrus and dried fruit) that tasted like coarsely chopped, bagged salad from the supermarket. With water and a half bottle of white wine, we paid over €100 for two. Now, if you want to stay in that price range you have to raise the quality bar!

14/08/2025: I recently stopped at Caffè Italia in Formia, craving something more intriguing than a simple espresso. I must say I was immediately struck by the ambiance: an airy, well-maintained space with a lovely outdoor area, perfect for relaxing with friends, morning or evening. I ordered a cocktail and was pleasantly surprised by the selection: the menu offers a decidedly wide selection of cocktails and aperitifs, including various spritzes, classic long drinks, gin and tonics, mojitos, caipirinhas, margaritas, and much more. Prices are average for the area—roughly between €1 and €10. The cocktail I chose was well-balanced, carefully prepared, and served in a suitable glass, with an immediately striking presentation. Overall, the service was courteous and professional—at least for me. Regarding the price, my drink seemed in line with the quality offered: it's not cheap, but overall it reflected what you'd expect from a cocktail made with select ingredients in a pleasant setting. In short, for me, Caffè Italia remains an excellent choice for an aperitivo or evening drink: the atmosphere is inviting, the selection of drinks is extensive and well-curated, and the staff overall contributed to a pleasant experience. My only advice is to avoid the busiest hours if you want to enjoy your cocktail at a leisurely pace.

25/10/2025: I'm sorry I returned this summer after three years. They're always kind and accept dogs, although it's best to leave them indoors if possible. Indoors, given the outdoor layout of all the restaurants in the port, with tables too close together. My rating is based on the dishes served. I think they've changed the chef and the recipes. The pappagico appetizer was much larger in portion size and also included a few more dishes. The fish was definitely fresh, but tasteless. It was flat. Nothing stood out to differentiate the flavor. The biggest disappointment was the pappafico risotto, the dish that made me fall in love with this restaurant. What I was served was completely different: a seafood risotto, poorly made, with a sauce that the original didn't have, and soaked in oil, like you wouldn't find in a diner. Truly awful. I don't dispute the freshness of the fish, which I couldn't appreciate so much as the flavor was masked by this disgusting and sickening sauce. So heavy that it couldn't be digested all night. It's a shame the risotto al pappafico was in something else and will make me cross this restaurant off when I'm in Circeo. It's not a question of price—I don't review what's available—but of taste. It's a real shame I don't know I can taste real risotto pappafico anymore.
