01/07/2026: Beautiful experience!!! 😍 we had two pizzas, which even if they weren't wood-fired, were really good (gorgonzola and pear pizza was special and tasty! 😋). Peach dessert with ice cream, fabulous!!! 🫶🏻 The owner and all the staff were really kind and knowledgeable!! It was a beautiful and super romantic experience!!! 🥰 👏🏻 really well done!!!

16/06/2026: We had 2 meals from and at Charlie Ristorante. 1 - a takeaway pizza that was wonderful and delicious 2 - a sit down meal in the ristorante that was simply spectacular. We’ve been travelling through Italy for nearly a month and this place is one of the best places we’ve dined at. We highly recommended eating here.

13/04/2026: The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was truly delicious! I recommend it for a quick lunch or a drink with friends. We tried the torta al testo and the charcuterie board: both were excellent.

24/06/2026: Perhaps one of the last places left in Orvieto where you can find traditional cuisine. Excellent food and equally good wines. So, ask the owner for advice and you won't go wrong.

29/06/2026: We got married at Castello di Titignano - and cannot recommend it enough. The Castello, the scenary and the view is amazing, however, the people and staff is what made the experience so special. The staff made our days magical - from the amazing food to the sweet team. Really cannot recommend Castello di Titignano enough - all our guests were blown away and we were as well. Special thanks to Fiorenza and Chiara from Titignano, who really made the impossible possible ❤️

13/07/2026: The sheep are sheared, not skinned. You are excellent shearers. The food is excellent, high quality, and the price is lower than what you'd expect. I'll be back and sending friends (I already have), who have confirmed it. The food should have substance, not overdo it like others do. I eat for art, I go to the museum. Well done!

07/07/2026: We took a break from our journey for lunch and had a delicious meal. The food we delicious, particularly the pasta with boar and also the pasta with black truffle. The view iof Orvieto s also beautiful. This is definitely somewhere we'll try to visit again.

02/06/2026: Disrespectful to tourists. I was alone, looking for good, authentic food, and waited over 30 minutes. The owner barely looked at me; other Italians called him over, telling him I was waiting. When he finally attended to me, even though there were two empty tables, he wouldn't let me sit down, saying he was waiting for other Italians to arrive. After waiting an hour, he said I would be seated in 30 minutes, but the restaurant closed in 15 minutes... I went to the restaurant next door, Al Pozzo, where the service was much better and the food was excellent.

25/04/2026: My friend Antonio and I wanted to get coffee. The bar was closed, but the owner, who was incredibly friendly (sorry, I didn't ask his name), said no problem. I was mopping the floor, but come in and I'll make you a coffee. The coffee was excellent!!! Then in the evening we came back for grappa and an Amora. Wonderful place! Thank you!!!

06/06/2026: Unfortunately, there was constant background music. The staff seemed a bit pushy. The wine list was extensive, but the food menu was rather sparse. The menu was only accessible via QR code or website. The rabbit was very tasty. The tiramisu was served in a regular cappuccino cup, so it wasn't much, yet still cost a hefty €7. The taste was only average. We have very different memories of the tiramisu we had in Spoleto.

30/05/2026: A quiet atmosphere, a refined restaurant, and attentive service. A varied menu featuring vegetarian and traditional options. Centrally located, reservations recommended. The Orvieto-style rabbit is delicious!

15/06/2026: Fabulous experience, the place is super beautiful both inside and out, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Very helpful and friendly staff, truly exceptional dishes. Four of us had tagliatelle with truffles, the aroma was heavenly and the flavor was amazing. Our next stop on our next trip will be at ANTICO BUCCHERO. Thank you, you made us dream.

10/06/2026: A lovely, quiet courtyard in the center of Orvieto. Attentive service. We had antipasti and pasta, followed by tagliata and grilled lamb, and finally panna cotta and a fantastic semifreddo. The meat was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection. Very pleasant clientele. We had a wonderful evening.

15/05/2026: Friendly owner, a warm shop atmosphere, and even super delicious pasta!!!! I think it's fresh pasta (just a guess), but the mushroom pasta was seriously so good!! It's not in a crowded area, but it's a short walk away!!! I highly recommend it~♡

30/06/2026: A small, welcoming wine bar located just steps from the Duomo, full of atmosphere. The owner is extremely friendly and hospitable, and knows how to immediately put his guests at ease. We had a wonderful dinner, pairing it with an excellent Montefalco red wine, recommended by him. A truly pleasant experience.

29/06/2026: A discovery. Thank you for your hospitality, your welcome, your kindness, and the excellent cuisine. A welcoming atmosphere, a simple menu with dishes to satisfy every palate, including vegetarians (excellent dishes), and a truly good wine selection. Excellent background music. 19/05/2026: This place is fantastic. We were visiting Orvieto for the day and got to the train station about an hour and a half early to head back to Rome. We just were looking for a place to eat that was near the station and wandered over to this restaurant. It was fantastic. Affordable, great tasting, and not too busy. We got the lasagna, a margherita pizza, and a kind of pasta (which I can't quite remember the name of) ... it was so good. Overall a great expereince and would highly recommend. Also, probably cheaper than eating in Orvieto at the top of the hill.

17/05/2026: The most beautiful friendly, smiley customer service ever. My suitcase has been lost by an airline and the delightful owner offered me extra clothes. This is a memory I will treasure forever. The pizzas were simply delicious and exactly as they should be - thin crust and fresh, good quality ingredients. Very fair prices too. I’m sorry we are leaving Orvieto tomorrow - because I would eat here again if I could.

19/05/2026: Excellent dining experience. We had the Pappardelle with wild boar and sliced steak with truffles. Both dishes were delicious, nice hearty wild boar sauce and tender medium steak with tasty potatoes. Good desserts and wine too.

17/05/2026: UPDATE: I’m updating my review after a change of heart. I at first felt I wanted to disregard my disappointment of this resort but after lack of care and accountability from the resort I thought I’d share. I’d first like to point out that the restaurant, their staff, chef, service and food were all five stars and excellent. The resort itself however lacked hospitality and any resemblance of luxury. Upon arrival we were horrified to fold over the sheets and find a smashed bug UNDER the covers. We then proceeded to check the rest of the bed in fear it was a bed bug later to realize a huge blood stain on the corner of the comforter. We immediately requested another room in a different building and were happy to be upgraded to a wellness suite although we still were weary of the cleanliness of the room and its lack of design. We had previously booked the cooking experience which was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. We left full with great food and wine and happy we experienced the resort. Until we checked out and realized that my suitcase handle had been broken with no way of collapsing it when it was working perfectly fine up until our departure when our bags were picked up from our room and taken to reception. I emailed the staff to notify them and instead was met with accusations of saying my suitcase was broken upon my arrival and complete denial of any carelessness. I am now left with having to replace my brand new $200 suitcase because my airline will not accept a suitcase that doesn’t collapse. I am deeply disappointed with the lack of professionalism that is to be expected with a luxury resort. I had thought they redeemed themselves from the bug and blood situation and even wrote them a good review (see below), until they blatantly denied and instead blamed me for my broken bag. We still enjoyed our experience but I would honestly just come for the day for the restaurant and wine and would pass on staying at the resort itself and save your money. Original review: We had a wonderful stay at Altarocca Wine Resort. The staff was incredibly friendly, responsive and accommodating. Location: The resort is about a 10 minute taxi ride from Orvieto or the train station which the resort was able to help arrange for us. The property itself is located in a beautiful and picturesque Italian countryside surrounded by vineyards and rolling landscape, perfect if you want that winery stay vibe. Food & Wine: The restaurant on property was incredible, hands down the best meal of our trip. It was fine dining with excellent service and fantastic execution with balanced yet sophisticated flavors at the right amount of complexity that was not too overwhelming. We went with the staffs recommendations as well as their recommended wine pairings and they couldn’t have done better - they nailed it! They serve both a variety of their in-house wines as well as an extensive list of other regional wines, but their in-house wines were all wonderful and we stuck with those throughout our stay. Experience: We were able to enjoy a stroll through the vineyards after breakfast and took their cooking class in the afternoon which included lunch and a wine tasting after. I highly recommend this experience as it was engaging, informational, and fun! Overall we were very pleased with our stay and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We felt prices were very reasonable for the experience and we will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family! Great views. Great food&wine. Great service

12/04/2026: We booked a double room at Altarocca Wine Resort for what was supposed to be a special night: the last of our honeymoon. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bitter experience, marked by frustration, disappointment, and utter disappointment with the way the situation was handled. As soon as we entered the room, we realized that the so-called "double bed" was actually two single mattresses pushed together, with a visible indentation in the middle. Sleeping was uncomfortable and frustrating, far from what one would expect for a €190 a night. The most serious issue wasn't just the problem itself, but the way it was handled. After immediately reporting the situation at check-in, we were told that to get a true double mattress, we would have to book a higher room category, paying an additional €50. And, rather casually, we were told that "it was still a double bed." Frankly, an unacceptable response for a property that should and does boast such standards. The next day, upon checkout, no one even bothered to ask us how our stay had gone (and I also consider this to be in poor taste). I was the one who had to raise the issue again, only to be met with a cold and indifferent attitude, as if the issue were irrelevant. Zero customer service, zero empathy, and zero professionalism. Making everything even more unpleasant was the fact that it was the last night of our honeymoon: a moment that should have been pleasant, relaxing, and memorable, but which was instead ruined by this experience. Finally, the organization of the wine tasting also left much to be desired, which is paradoxical for a property called a wine resort: I had asked for a wine tasting upon our arrival at 5:00 PM, but we were told they would have to check the sommelier's availability at that time. In essence, we would have had to start without even having time to settle into our room. An unreasonable proposal, which we obviously declined. In conclusion, a well-presented organization that, in reality, proved to be inattentive to customers, inflexible, and unprofessional in handling issues. For the price paid and for the occasion, I expected something completely different. Absolutely not worth it.
