07/08/2025: We had a really good time, a family of four. Every course was a delight, both visually and in taste. The table service was pleasant and friendly. We recommend it.

03/08/2025: My husband, my daughter, and I went for dinner this evening. The place is very nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, but the main problem was when I ordered panzanella (a typical Umbrian dish that I know very well, since my husband is originally from Orvieto) and was brought a small bowl of cherry tomatoes with a few breadcrumbs and two basil leaves. When it came time to pay, I mentioned this to the lady, and that I would therefore have liked to pay for a cherry tomato salad and not for the dish I had ordered. But to no avail, as upon leaving the restaurant, I looked at the bill and saw, to my dismay, that guest satisfaction isn't the restaurant's priority. I certainly wouldn't go to waste for two or three euros, but a small discount would have been appreciated. It's a shame because my husband and daughter said the first courses weren't bad, but when I return to Orvieto, I definitely won't choose Il Capitano del Popolo again.

10/08/2025: We didn't find the same tranquility and good food as a few years ago. We made reservations and arrived on time, but the wait was insane—not ideal as a stopover for those continuing their journey. The meat was excellent, but we didn't appreciate the sauces, not listed on the menu, on a simple dish like grilled chicken. Not suitable for celiacs. The location is still beautiful, thanks to the consistently stunning view and a cool, covered terrace. It could have just been a coincidence related to the busy day, so we'll be back in the future.

02/08/2025: We had a truly memorable meal at this charming restaurant nestled in a small village just across from Orvieto. The view alone is worth the visit — you can admire the entire town of Orvieto from your table! We started with a delicious selection of cold cuts as an appetizer — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For the main course, we had a generous mixed grill that included a perfectly cooked Fiorentina steak. The meat was high quality, tender, and grilled to perfection — simply outstanding. The atmosphere was warm and rustic, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel right at home. Whether you’re passing through the area or staying nearby, this place is absolutely worth the stop. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great food, beautiful views, and genuine hospitality.

Scegliamo questa trattoria in ricerca di sapori umbri e non siamo stati delusi; primi della tradizione, piccione ripieno e faraona squisiti. Il tutto accompagnato da un Orvieto di buon livello, consigliato dall’appassionato proprietario. Dessert all’altezza del resto. Sicuramente consigliato!

01/08/2025: A Orvieto si mangia bene quasi ovunque ma questo ristorante ha una marcia in più e si sente. La qualità delle tagliatelle al tartufo è ottima come pure l’agnello e il cinghiale. Unico appunto che sul menù era riportato tra i piatti del giorno il tagliere di formaggi ma … i formaggi erano finiti! Prezzi nella media. Utile la prenotazione.

21/07/2025: ¡La pizza ha vuelto! Nos encanta la pizza en Charlie's. Pero todos los platos son maravillosos. Nunca me ha decepcionado una comida en el restaurante. Grandes opciones de vino y cerveza. Servicio cálido y amable.

06/08/2025: An exceptional trattoria in Orvieto, recommended by our hostess. It's a small place, with tables close together and an open kitchen. The host would definitely add a sixth star to the review. Friendly, quick with a joke (he even joked with our son and handed him a €500 receipt, prompting a sincere reaction), and great customer service. The carbonara is worthy of an Oscar, as are the rest (skewers, lombrichelle alla matriciana). The carbonara comes in generous portions. Everything is truly exceptional. Excellent prices.

11/07/2025: We ordered pasta with carbonara and ragu. The carbonara was correct, good ingredients, but nothing amazing either. The ragu...just right. It's not that it was very expensive, but maybe the place is a bit overrated. The service...a bit dry... 2 euros per plate, by the way.

21/07/2025: PESSiMI se potete scappate! Entrati alle 22 il ristorante chiude alle 23!! Chiediamo se la cucina è chiusa... facciamo questo lavoro e sappiamo come comportarsi. Ci fanno accomodare in un rtavolo sporco... e i camerieri scazzatissimi . Ci fanno aspettare oltre 10minuti prima di apparecchiarci. Ancora stava mangiando un signore... Appena ci viene preso l'ordine la titolare ci dice sbrigatevi che la cucina sta chiudendo??? Abbiamo.chiesto all'entrata e mancava ancora un ora alla chiusura! Mi arriva il primo e.mio marito niente... Mentre inizio a mangiare arriva il mio secondo e contorno, ma ho appena iniziato il primo.. infatti non abbiamo spazio sul tavolo e lo mettono su quello accanto e lui ancora niente.... non avevano ancora iniziato a fare la sua pizza... finisco il mio primo, inizio a mangiare il secondo che condivido perché ancora nessuna pizza per lui... mentre mangiamo (contorno ormai freddo ovviamente) arriva il contorno a mio marito che doveva uscire a seguire della pizza non ancora arriviata!! Ci lamentino e finalmente arriva la pizza ma le patate quando doveva mangiarle erano fredde. La cameriera per avere un po di pane non ci guardava... troppo impegnata a parlare sul cellulare e la proprietaria è sparita fino a quando è arrivata a chiedere il conto.. Il ristorante chiudeva alle 23 e noi a quell'ora eravamo già fuori Siamo arrivati un ora prima e vi abbiamo educatamente chiesto se era tardi ma i soldi fanno comodo anche se trattate la gente a pesci in faccia. Questi sono fatti e potete inventarvi qualsiasi scusa nelle risposte.ma ho lo scontrino dove si dimostra che siamo usciti prima delle 23. Lasciate perdere.

13/07/2025: In un giardino un po' nascosto, fresco e silenzioso al centro di Orvieto, questo ristorante offre una cucina di altissimo livello. Il menù degustazione è un percorso sensoriale con cui la chef Anna Rita riesce sempre a stupirmi, e questa sera il culmine lo ha raggiunto con le costolette di agnello con panatura profumata. Servizio impeccabile, attento e discreto . L'eccellenza non si può descrivere in poche parole, L'eccellenza va gustata.

16/08/2025: Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, and a slightly more upscale setting. It was a shame one dish was missing, so we couldn't eat together. Even so, the dish was ordered twice for four people. All in all, we had a delicious meal.

22/06/2025: La Locanda del Lupo is a quiet place in the historic center of Orvieto. It is a place that presents itself simply in its typical Umbrian architecture. It has furnishing elements in some cases out of context but a nice atmosphere. The food is good, especially the first courses, recommended those with fresh truffle. Simple service and friendly staff. Excellent location towards the main points of interest of the city

12/06/2025: Great place to have dinner in Orvieto, the food is excellent as in the whole region, excellent pasta and meat. The only negative note was that as soon as we finished dinner we had to run away because it was an exaggerated mosquito net :/

09/06/2025: Stopped by for dinner and everything we ate was delicious from the caprese, risotto, beef and ricotta cheesecake! It was a beautiful spot as well. I highly recommend it if you are staying or stopping by Orvieto.

30/07/2025: We stopped by chance to get a porchetta sandwich (my kids had never had it). Simply put, it was one of the best porchettas we've ever had. The portion size was good (I was just hoping for a bigger sandwich, it was so good).

07/08/2025: Mi encantador y yo disfrutamos del almuerzo aquí con la familia y amigos en 2005 y tuvimos una experiencia maravillosa. IT fue con cierta inquietud que devolvimos una partitura más tarde, ya que NO teníamos ningún deseo de disminuir la memoria. IT trae una gran alegría informar que Le Grotte del Funaro no ha perdido nada de su magia. Habíamos enviado un correo electrónico por adelantado para reservar una mesa y estábamos encantados de estar sentados junto a la ventana. Una vista de las ondulantes colinas de Umbría es un glorioso anexo a los procedimientos. Empezamos con la deliciosa panzanella fresca antes de pasar a la lubina y el cochinillo con patatas asadas. Ambos fueron un testimonio de la facilidad con la que las ciudades Italianas superiores de las colinas producen increíble plato tras plato increíble. Lavada con una botella local de Orvieto rossi esta fue otra comida para recordar. ¡Volveremos en 2045!
