Trattoria Pizzeria SAN MICHELE In Orvieto

This place is fantastic. We were visiting Orvieto for the day and got to the train station about an hour and a half early to head back to Rome. We just were looking for a place to eat that was near the station and wandered over to this restaurant. It was fantastic. Affordable, great tasting, and not too busy. We got the lasagna, a margherita pizza, and a kind of pasta (which I can't quite remember the name of) ... it was so good. Overall a great expereince and would highly recommend. Also, probably cheaper than eating in Orvieto at the top of the hill.

The most beautiful friendly, smiley customer service ever. My suitcase has been lost by an airline and the delightful owner offered me extra clothes. This is a memory I will treasure forever. The pizzas were simply delicious and exactly as they should be - thin crust and fresh, good quality ingredients. Very fair prices too. I’m sorry we are leaving Orvieto tomorrow - because I would eat here again if I could.

Staying below Orvieto and the funicular closes too early to eat in the center. Ended up here by chance and had very good bruschetta and papardelle. No-nonsense local restaurant with friendly service and not expensive.

Lunch with thin-crust pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven, delicious and easy to digest.

Eating at San Michele is amazing! Also value for money. Friendly service and owners. They also have a B&B. Unfortunately, we noticed this too late. Jeanette and P

Traveling for work, I find myself having lunch in this very simple but welcoming place. At first glance, once you're seated, you begin to see and understand the place a little better.... Cleanliness is quite poor, including the waitresses' uniforms, who are nevertheless courteous... I order a beef steak (to be on the safe side, like every day) and some cooked vegetables, which I specifically ask for in large quantities, but instead, 3 bites arrive... The steak was beef, yes, but a strange cut with an even stranger smell (I ate because I had to eat), an old, worn fork and a knife that didn't cut at all but tore because it was also very old, low-quality olive oil served at the table with a spray dispenser THAT YOU CAN'T SEE!!... I saved myself the coffee by going to get it at the pastry shop next door. Nothing more and nothing less, that's all.

Simple and affordable place, excellent pizzas, courteous and fast staff.
