The property is slightly dated, but the friendly owners make you feel like you're staying with family. The place is quiet and cool, a good base for exploring the surrounding area.

28/05/2025: We went to dinner at this hotel/restaurant/pizzeria, very simple with a beautiful wood fireplace where the meat is grilled, we opted for a pizza with appetizers of cold cuts and bruschetta. Excellent food, great kindness of the owner Massimo, truly very beautiful location. Excellent value for money we will definitely be back. Thank you.

22/08/2025: We received coupons from our apartment to go have breakfast here. The location is really good, as it's right in the center of Spoleto. The decor is a bit retro, but I have to say it fits the city's style. The food is really good, and the menu is extensive, allowing you to choose between sweet and savory options. The service is attentive, and the atmosphere is clean. It's a shame this place closes at 8:00, otherwise I'd come here every night for ice cream.

23/08/2025: Let me start by saying that there were two of us and we split the full menu (appetizer, first course, second course, and dessert). The appetizer with egg fondue and truffle was truly excellent. The first and second courses were excellent (gnocchi with wild boar sauce and wild boar bites). The dessert was very unique and excellent (chocolate cake with ice cream and amaretti biscuits). Overall, highly recommended. The prices were average for Spoleto and fair for the quality of the service. The presentation of the dishes was very attentive. For dinner, I would recommend two appetizers (all very good) or a first or second course. Highly recommended.

23/06/2025: Place has a great vibe and setting. Staff is friendly enough and service was ok. Food is ok but prob not worth the price. Not that the food is all that expensive but it's nothing special. Oh lastly, couldn't finish half the pizza with everything else so asked the server to pack it and she misunderstood and threw it away. Not even an apology.. might be a good place to take in a match but one wasn't on when I was there.

05/08/2025: We loved this place. The rooms are spotless. The grounds are beautiful. There are plenty of places to eat in the area but the house restaurant is fabulous so don’t hesitate to stay for dinner right there. We loved the pool. AC very string an no issues. The very best part of staying here was the service. They will bend over backwards to assist you in any way possible. We were directed to an Amazing chef for a private cooking lesson. I’ve recommended this place to my friends and this is s no-brainer. If I head back to the region I will re-book here

27/07/2025: We stayed at Borgo Della Marmotta for four nights, and overall, it was a pleasant and peaceful experience. The hotel is set in a beautiful old borgo, surrounded by rolling Umbrian hills and olive groves—it really is a stunning location. The buildings themselves have a lot of charm and character, with that classic countryside feel that’s hard to beat. That said, it’s fair to say that the place is a bit rough around the edges. Some parts feel a little worn out and could use a refresh, especially considering the price point. It’s not a luxury experience, but it does have a relaxed, rustic atmosphere that’s easy to settle into if you’re not expecting polish. The on-site restaurant was a highlight. The food was genuinely good and reasonably priced, with a menu that offered enough variety without trying too hard. We ate there more than once during our stay and were happy each time. Breakfast was decent but repetitive. It didn’t change at all during our four days, which made it feel a bit dull by the end. The biggest letdown was the coffee—it was from capsules, which felt out of place in a region where great coffee is everywhere. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic place to stay and don’t mind a bit of wear and tear, Borgo Della Marmotta offers a charming spot to unwind. Just go in with the right expectations and you’ll likely enjoy your stay.
