02/04/2026: We drove here from Gubbio for lunch. This was exactly what we were looking for. Exceptional local food, service which a home cooked rustic feel. The food was outstanding and the price was very reasonable, meat cheese tray, eggplant, beef liver pate’, three types of bread, tagliatelle with Ragu, white artichoke lasagna, bottle of water, liter of wine, deserts and espresso! 55 Euro!!!

24/02/2026: I rarely give five stars, but here I feel like it. We went to Gubbio and, while searching, we found this restaurant. The outside doesn't match the inside. The place has been renovated and is very welcoming. It has a grill, a pizzeria, and a kitchen. I should start by saying that it was crowded and it was Tuesday lunchtime. Not being very hungry but wanting a good first course, we ordered tagliatella with porcini mushrooms and truffle and tagliatella with hare ragù. The photos speak for themselves. The food was delicious, tasty, well-cooked, and seasoned. We couldn't find a single flaw. Unfortunately, we didn't try the meats, but the ones we saw passing by looked excellent, nor did the pizza. The price? More than fair, €35 including a quarter of wine, two coffees, and a liter of water, plus cover charge, of course. The staff was extremely kind and professional. What can I say? If you're in the area, stopping by this restaurant is a must.

09/01/2026: We stopped for a short break from our long journey and found ourselves in a wonderful family atmosphere. The owner was very welcoming and the staff were friendly. The food was excellent, the pasta was homemade and exceptional. The value for money was excellent. The special feature was the changing table in the bathroom. Not even the fanciest restaurants have one.

This osteria is an absolute temple of pure, traditional Umbrian cuisine, the kind of cuisine that has been passed down through generations—TRUE cuisine. It's a wonderful place, staffed by exceptional and special people. Incredible elements and flavor combinations are the best you could wish for. All these elements are brought to life by the heart and soul of the incredible and talented Chef and owner. He possesses an absolute, top-notch technique that allows him to craft ingredients like very few others, resulting in dishes that are beyond unique and incredibly flavorful. For the owner-chef, perfection is a fundamental concept, and he strives to surpass it, ALWAYS. The expertly crafted ingredients, beyond perfection, blend seamlessly with the highest-quality raw materials, used with incredible skill. The dishes intoxicate the palate and the senses...everything is a caress for the soul. The ingredients were cooked sublimely. A tip: Umbricoli with Reggiano and black truffle. I have NEVER eaten better Umbricoli in my life! Here, the cuisine and drink, rigorously traditional, are a true art, a journey through sight, smell, and taste, but above all through the feelings and emotions that the Chef, preparing dishes unlike any other, evokes in those who enjoy them. This wonderful place is pure, more than unique, talent. Emotions of the soul were enhanced by the smiles and infinite kindness of the wonderful Giulia, who manages the dining room service with extreme skill. Giulia's service is characterized by an above-average level of preparation, professionalism, kindness, courtesy, friendliness, and absolute precision. La Locanda del Tartufo is a continuous flow of flavors and emotions that begin with the consistency of the ingredients used and then culminate in the perfection of the evolution from the first bite. Two elements predominate: the preparation technique and the highest-quality raw materials. This quality standard allows the customer to fully enjoy the flavors. The ingredients are crucial in enhancing the flavors, which, in the mouth, appear clean and full-bodied, yet delicate and persistent. La Locanda del Tartufo is a place where time stands still and everything becomes a dream come true. The quality of the products is probably one of the three best I've ever experienced in my life. 30/03/2026: Excellent and strategic location right in the center. I gave the food 3 stars because I ordered a platter of cured meats and cheeses, and unfortunately, there wasn't anything typical of Umbria.... Prosciutto, pancetta, which I also eat in Puglia, and the only specialty bread is the typical bread from Gubbio, which is delicious, but paying €40 for bread.... was disappointing for me. Despite all this, the service was excellent, very attentive and fast.

26/02/2026: The €25 "tourist" menu is anything but a tourist trap. It includes a generous plate of charcuterie, two types of pasta, a main course with vegetables, two almond biscuits with Vin Santo, a quarter-liter of wine, mineral water, and coffee. All of high quality and served with a smile.
