Hotel Fichetto In Foligno

Lovely place, excellent food cooked the old fashioned way, staff always ready to satisfy your every need...

It is just outside of Foligno and we would have had a hard time finding it without a navigation system. The house would hardly be recognizable as a hotel and restaurant if it hadn't been for a small sign above the door. You first reach a small coffee bar via a narrow staircase and wonder whether there really is lunch here. Only when you pass the bar and reach the dining room through a narrow corridor do you realize that it is larger than it appears from outside. Before we even ordered anything, a plate of bruschette and a bottle each of still and medium water were placed on the table. We didn't see a menu on our first visit; instead, the chef explained in words what was available today. However, on our second visit almost two years later there was also a printed menu. The coratella di agnello as a starter was very good, as was the tortelini with truffles. On our second visit to the restaurant, the two of us shared "Antipasto misto completto" with various cold and warm starters, followed by "Faraona in salmì" [guinea fowl deliciously prepared] and "Strapazzo uova al tartuffo" [scrambled eggs with truffles]. Dessert was no longer possible after that, but we gratefully accepted bitters and limoncello.

Siamo stati a cena tra colleghi di lavoro e sono rimasto a bocca aperta per la bontà degli antipasti che ci hanno servito (un piattino con affettato formaggio un tortino con patate a seguire coratella trippa e lumache al sugo) è molto raro mangiare questi piatti in zona con tale sapore. Le lumache erano uno spettacolo. I cappellacci buoni buoni. Metto 4 stelle perchè poi si sono un pò persi sulla grigliata mista che era un pò sempliciotta come sapori. Niènte di che. Consiglio a chi vorrà provare il locale CORATELLA TRIPPA E LUMACHE. Il locale è molto alla mano e casareccio senza tante pretese, Alla prossima!!!
