29/09/2025: Giving two stars because they downplayed me drinking out of a glass that seemingly had pigeon poo. They leave the tables set so when we arrived, the glasses were already set out. We ordered some water and the server poured some water into my glass. After drinking out of it, I realized it had a big drip of what looked like it was possibly bird poo down the side and asked for a new glass. When we checked out, my husband, who speaks Italian, told the lady that this had happened and she said it was okay because they changed my glass. It is absolutely not okay and I feel disgusted. The food itself was fine but nothing I’d go back for. The location itself is cute as it’s tucked away and feels a bit more secluded while still being outside. Note to the staff, it’s not okay to serve patrons out of poo dirtied glasses and especially not okay to downplay it when they bring it to your attention.

04/09/2025: Solid food—a place to go! In the evening, we enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere in the courtyard. The prices are a bit high for what's on offer, though...

30/09/2025: We stayed a weekend in September via Smartbox. The location is quite isolated and difficult to reach, without directions from the owners, who sent us all the information on how to get there via WhatsApp the day before. The location is wonderfully immersed in the nature of Mount Subasio, with clean and well-maintained rooms. The mattresses are top marks, firm just as I like them, with pillows of varying firmness. The cuisine is also excellent, with carefully crafted traditional Umbrian dishes. The breakfast buffet is also quite rich and varied, with vegan and vegetarian options. If you love peace and quiet, this is the ideal place. We will definitely return. My recommendation is not to rely on GPS, which would take you on worse roads, but rather to follow the owners' directions.

26/09/2025: Beautiful location but difficult to get to. The staff is friendly. The food is quite expensive but of good quality. The property could use some minor updating, especially the furnishings, but it has great potential.

10/09/2025: We discovered Le Cantine di Oddo by chance, strolling along Via San Francesco, just steps from the Basilica of Saint Francis—a place that has attracted pilgrims and visitors from around the world for centuries. The restaurant's ambiance is truly unique: meticulously crafted, evocative, and original, a little gem hidden in the heart of Assisi. The staff was very courteous, and the food was good quality and well-prepared. Our meal wasn't bad, quite the opposite; however, it lacked that special something that transforms a good experience into a memorable one. A personal detail: I hate the water served in glass bottles filled by the restaurant—I prefer sealed bottles. A matter of taste, perhaps, but it's something that struck me. While not giving it 5 stars (as some aspects could use some work), the overall rating remains positive. Atmosphere, kindness, and decent cuisine: a place worth trying, perhaps with a few more considerations.

02/09/2025: A beautiful place, traditional dishes and excellent service

04/04/2025: Chosen without any prior knowledge, on instinct, this lovely osteria, just steps from the Church of San Pietro in Assisi, turned out to be a very pleasant gastronomic surprise. Truffle strangozzi followed by grilled lamb are substantial dishes, and although challenging, they were easily digested without hesitation, thanks to the addition of a white Grechetto, which I know is easy to drink. The service was friendly, courteous, and efficient. The price was fair; what more can I say? We'll definitely be back.

09/02/2025: The place is a bit old-fashioned but has its charm, the waitress is very kind and friendly and the aubergines, baked potatoes, strangozzi with truffle and maltagliati with leek and white ragù were simply superb!

10/06/2025: Ci sono ritornato dopo 2 anni è avuto il piacere di gustare i loro prodotti. Torta al testo con porchetta davvero squisita e abbondante. Personale molto accogliente. Ci tornerei sicuramente!!!

09/06/2025: Un posto accogliente, menù ben spiegato e chiaro e prodotti buoni…ci sono stata a pranzo con la mia famiglia, dopo la visita a Santa Maria degli Angeli, ed è stata una buona scelta. Raggiungerlo è molto semplice in quanto molto Vicino alla Basilica, ci si può arrivare a piedi in pochissimo tempo e anche in macchina perché ci sono dei parcheggi

12/07/2025: Sono andato con un gruppo di amici che aveva scelto questo posto basandosi sui commenti letti online, e in effetti ci siamo trovati benissimo. Lo staff è molto gentile e propone una degustazione di prodotti tipici, accompagnata da un assaggio di vino. Dopo, si può scegliere tra panini e taglieri, tutti preparati con ingredienti di ottima qualità.

12/07/2025: Food was really nice. A lovely pizza, lasagne and panacotta. It was the service that let the place down. Waitress and another one who was indifferent to my compliment of the food. Overheard a customer who had to insist on sitting elsewhere as waitress wanted to sit where they didn’t like. Wife owner was really nice.

30/07/2025: I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Minerva in Assisi. The hotel is charming, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making me feel truly cared for. Its location is ideal—just steps away from the cathedral and within walking distance of most of Assisi’s historical sites. While the hilly terrain can be a bit challenging, the stunning views and timeless beauty of the city more than make up for it. A memorable experience in a magical place.

22/06/2025: Stayed last week on a 2 day trip to Assisi. While the location is prime, and the room was very comfortable- there was a woman at the front desk who was just beyond rude. We had an experience with her in the restaurant where she was also our waitress. She brought us out extremely dry and hard bread. We politely asked her if perhaps we could have a little bit of olive oil (or perhaps even our drinks brought out so we didn’t choke.) and her response was “no. Olive oil is for salad only.” Meanwhile, the table behind us with a local family of clearly Italian folks, had oil for their bread (that’s how we had the idea to ask!!) The next day, we went to a restaurant in Gubbio, and our waiter brought oil to the table without us asking, we asked him and our guide for the day if that was just for the salad. They both looked at us very confused. When we told them that this woman from the hotel and hotel restaurant denied us such a silly request- they had the same response “so sorry. That’s not true and we’ve never heard of that. She probably didn’t want to serve you.” Perhaps this seems ridiculous to some to complain about this, but the fact is that no one else wants to feel as though someone is being discriminatory and not fulfilling a request because of that kind of attitude. Not only this, she was at the front desk (glasses, brown hair, late 40s maybe 50s) and just couldn’t be bothered. God forbid we had a question. Like I said, great location, comfortable room but we won’t be back. Every hotel in Assisi is technically a great location and all very competitive for pricing.

10/08/2025: As always, when we come to Assisi, we can't miss Simona and Davide's: it's hard to find such a warm and welcoming welcome! And then, because the food is truly delicious: torta al testo is the local specialty, of course. But they're not all the same, on the contrary! At Casa di Bacco, you're guaranteed to always find fresh products, carefully selected from the best producers. The cake, the cured meats, the cheeses, and then the wines, the craft beers—everything is simple and perfect! It goes without saying that we'll be back: we've been coming for years because it makes us feel good!

08/07/2025: The price-performance ratio is terrible, especially for what you get, whether it's food or drinks. The focaccias or flatbreads are different, but the simple fillings, especially the vegetable ones, aren't vegetables at all, just spinach, and they look like they're canned, without any oil or other seasoning. Sad and a bit misled.

29/07/2025: The photos aren't real. At least the ones of the pizzas posted by the restaurant. The pizza was below expectations, tasteless and ugly to look at. If you make pizzas like this, maybe it's best to change your pizza chef. Not to be repeated. The atmosphere was decent and the service acceptable.

14/09/2025: The "freshly squeezed" orange juice is diluted with water. The food is dry. A shame. The view and restrooms are good.
